  1. I can certainly understand about your situation with Pedro, ny conure is the same way, she is the feisty of my two birds, Josey doesn't push it with Sunny but given half a chance Sunny will try to go for Josey so I keep them a safe distance apart. You probably should provide a separate glass of water for them to drink out of for after you have sipped from yours there could be some of your saliva present and you don't want them to have that as it is full of bacteria that they can't handle. When I share some juice or water with my fids I allow them to drink some before I take the first sip. I think you will find that your birds will love any kind of pasta, Josey does and especially spaghetti with the sauce.
  2. Hello Amy, yes your grey probably has some red factor and it doesn't mean there is anything wrong with your bird, its just a pigmentation thing. They may molt out when she goes thru her first one or they may not. Why don't you share some pictures of her so we can see her?
  3. What an awesome looking playstand Jill, Harvey is one lucky grey and he took to it so soon, Josey would have eyeballed that thing from a distance for weeks, thanks for sharing some pics of it with us.
  4. That was awesome to watch but not with my birdie, it would be great to be able to do that but without the proper training it is best left to those who can.
  5. Congrats Jules on getting the quiz 100% correct, you the woman:P B)
  6. I did not choose Josey either, she was picked out of a clutch by my bird breeder friend who then brought her to her home to finish hand feeding. She chose the one she would have chosen for herself and I met her after she came to her home. Getting Josey was not on a whim, I was looking for a grey and my friend found her for me.
  7. I use one of these type carriers when I need to transport Josey and they are reasonably priced, here is the link: http://www.thecountryroost.com/catalog/default.php?cPath=28_29&osCsid=27f4cf2251ba145f1750fb01190237dc
  8. Who is the "Material Girl"? Astronomy This person's first love, a true bloke:whistle:
  9. If you put it in suitable packaging that is airtight then it should keep for a month or longer. I sometimes make a bean mash that I then put in ice cube containers then after it has frozen solid I pop them out and put them in freezer bags, I take out what I want and thaw and heat.
  10. Hello Joey and welcome to our family, so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and your new grey. Have you thought of a name yet? You know we love pictures here so if you have some of your grey you would share with us we would greatly appreciate it. Do read thru the many threads for lots of useful information and ask questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can.
  11. Thanks Joy for the recipe for birdie muffins.
  12. BTW congrats on your boy.:cheer:
  13. Paul, try this link to help you with posting pics on this site: http://www.greyforums.net/forums/welcome-&-introduction-room/54297-how-to-post-pictures.html
  14. It is lovely to see them fly and he came right to you, good job and I couldn't help but notice that you tried to get him to give you a kiss but he was more interested in that shiny thing pointed at him. Thanks for sharing it with us.
  15. Yes it does but remember to take it in short steps, progress will be slow but the key is to keep at it and never give up. It doesn't surprise me that he clued in on your bad day, what amazing creatures they are and it gives positive reinforcement that what you are doing is going to reap great rewards in the end, keep at it as you are doing an excellent job. Thanks for sharing your good news with us and can't wait to hear more.
  16. Wow, looks like a fun time was had by all included and Mojo has some great looking toys he is enjoying, yes if you are creative you can make all kinds of toys very cheaply. Thanks for sharing the pictures with us and what a bond building exercise it was for all. Zachery looks like he needs to calm down a bit if that is the way he is in that third pic if he wants to interact with Mojo but I love his enthusiasm.
  17. What a wonderful relationship you have with him Bobbi and most people will think you are crazy when you talk about him but you are in good company here, we understand completely, only bird people can know how we really feel. Thanks for sharing a couple of pictures of the two of you, you certainly look like best friends.
  18. Poor little Willis, I hope he does much better by tomorrow as I would hate to see him have to go back and be hospitalized but you do what you have to to help him get better. I've never fed Zupreem or any kind of fruity type pellets but if they didn't smell the same as the ones you bought before then something might be up with them, take some to your vet and see what he/she thinks about it.
  19. Thanks Jay for giving Joy some information on cockatiels and their egg laying, I only mentioned Ramsabi because he has chicks at the moment but you are a very good source of info on many types of birds.
  20. Thats so sad that some have to be destroyed like that, such beautiful creatures. :( {Feel-bad-0002006A}

  23. Willis is definitely in need of seeing an avian vet, I hope he is going to be fine and do let us know as we care about each and every grey that our members have.
  24. Look at those babies, they are so adorable, are you keeping them for the way they look it would be hard to part with them, thanks for sharing them with us, so sweet.
  25. Mocha should end up with quite a vocabulary as time goes on but he is certainly off to a good start.
