  1. Well she is under a year so it is the right place, she is gorgeous and has a lovely name too.
  2. My sun conure sleeps in one of those sleep tents and it might prove helpful to your conure and I have to echo Birdhouse's idea of getting a different kind of cage for him, one of those low and long so he can only climb so high since he has a deformity. I would imagine he is still a little fearful right now and is biting in reaction to that and because he is handicapped he is using his beak to "feel" things out so bear with him for right now as he comes to trust you but you have my utmost admiration for giving this little fella a home and doing what it takes to make his life as happy as it can be.
  3. Lilly is going to adore that cage, yes she likes it.
  4. Oh my Lilly is adorable and she has a blush going on, how precious she is, she is settling in to her new home nicely, can't wait to hear more about her and how it goes, yes greys love bells and what a good bird to eat her veggies and Harrison's pellets, way to go Boom.

    Sam's yams

I might fix some of those humongous sweet potatoes we dug last week, 10 and 11 pound monsters, oh wait they are too big for just the two of us and the birds, better get the smaller ones.
  6. They can split their keel, thats that bone that is the center most of their chest and sticks out somewhat, greys are heavy bodied birds and if they drop like a rock they can split that keel bone, not something you want to happen. Buffy I am glad to hear you want to leave Echo flighted and it is your decision to make and no one should tell you different, not even your vet for some do think that birds should be clipped, that is hogwash but you can keep a bird flighted and remain safe in your home if you take the precautions to make it so.
  7. I bet he takes hundreds if not thousands of pictures to get those great shots of Cocoa in flight, they continue to amaze me and Cocoa is such a willing subject, thanks for sharing those pics with us Sanggay.
  8. Well glad to hear it all went well and the birds stayed elsewhere for a while, thats all over and done with now. Yes please don't take it personal that you didn't get many responses to your post, maybe no one else had a similar situation that was a member here but the important thing is you got the information you needed so don't make yourself a stranger here as we want your participation.
  9. I would advise you to find the nearest vet even if it means you have to travel a distance as this doesn't sound good to me and it should be checked out, a grey's mouth is relatively dry, this situation would concern me as it should you, please see what you can find out.
  10. I haven't quite got to the point of needing to make the print on the computer large but the print on some bottles and such are so small that I sometimes have to use a magnifer to read it, its awful getting old.
  11. Well good job Barbara for giving Neo a bath and yes you can thank Dave for that, he is a man who knows his grey stuff. I would imagine that most birds do not preen immediately after a bath as they wait for the feathers to dry before working to put them into place.
  12. I am so sorry to hear of the loss of Baby, poor dear has been thru a lot but he is flying free of pain now and sailing over the Rainbow Bridge, he may be gone but not forgotten, please accept my condolences on his passing.
  13. We are all here for you Dee and pulling for Kopi's full recovery, he is a fighter but then so are you, keep us informed.

Well of course it is and you can take that to the bank!
  15. Thank you so much for giving this little fella a chance at life, since he has had this deformity since birth he doesn't know he is different and will adapt, you have a huge heart to take him in.
  16. So glad to hear you both have such a wonderful relationship and what a sweet video of Stephen and Issac, thanks for sharing it with us.
  17. They are so beautiful and amazing looking when they spread those feathers out, thanks for sharing them with us.
  18. Yes each grey is an individual and as such will react to bathing in different ways, maybe she just doesn't like to preen when she is wet, in any case it is nothing to worry about.
  19. Do they have separate cages or do they stay in the same one all the time as I have heard that even if two get along well they should each have a cage they can call their own?
  20. You have two special greys who get along splendidly, thats greyt.
  21. I can't wait to hear all about Trixie's homecoming, don't make us wait too long.
  22. I always look forward to Issac updates and was wondering when the next one was coming, looks like you and him are best buddies, glad to hear it is going well for you both.
  23. Hello Boom and welcome to the family, look forward to seeing some pictures when you get your baby home.
  24. One note, go easy on the pear or any kind of fruit, a whole one even if it is a small one is a lot for a grey, you should limit the amount and provide more veggies.
  25. I did not know that Dan, that really is bordering on cruel.
