  1. Hello Birdzhaven and welcome to our family, we are so glad you joined us as you will learn lots here about the greys and I look forward to reading your blogs when I get the chance.
  2. That is so adorable and what a good sport he is, thanks for sharing that with us.
  3. Congrats on Cody turning out to be a boy, at least you won't have to worry about him ever laying any eggs.
  4. I agree with Stephen, that bird is maimed to have his wings cut that short and I too have to hold my tongue to keep from saying what I really feel like saying, good thing I don't know who this person is.
  5. He could be flocking with some quakers, stranger things have happened but keep looking for I believe he will be found, follow up on every lead.
  6. Oh Issac will be talking soon, they all have their own way of managing it, they practice a lot and that is what you are hearing now, he has to get a feel on making the sounds and words he hears and when he gets it down pat you probably won't be able to shut him up, any day now.
  7. I think a lot of people got on her "hit" list this Christmas, at least we got a white Christmas but it drifted some today with high winds but I got out to work ok while my hubby, son and daughter got the week off work, its not fair. The fids are in the room with the fireplace and they are cozy and warm.
  8. David please do be careful of taking Polly outside without being on a harness or in a cage as even with a clip they can still fly with the proper breeze if she should be startled by something, its just their natural instinct to fly off if startled, I don't mean to nag but we would hate to see you lose her that way as we have seen it happen too many times. She is a gorgeous bird and obviously loves you, your other birds are very pretty too.
  9. Hello Kim and welcome to our family and a big welcome to Axel, so glad you both could join us and we look forward to hearing lots more about the both of you. We love pictures here so if you have some of Axel you would share with us please do.
  10. I love that picture, looks like Mort is enjoying his new ride, thanks for sharing it with us.
  11. Merry Christmas Dee and all my friends here at greyforums, I hope you all have a wonderful holiday with family and friends.
  12. Hello David and welcome to our family and hello to Polly Anna, does she wanna cracker, sorry I just couldn't resist. We look forward to hearing more about the both of you like how old is she, how long you have had her, do you have any other birds and so forth.
  13. I have to agree with Barbara on this one, put the ones from the school outside for the wild birds and make some of your own with cleaned ones and that way you will know they are safe for Timmy.
  14. Aw bless, just be grateful that she isn't mean and nippy but it will pass.
  15. That was excellent and our dear Lyn wrote that, I am impressed, she has talents, she can sing and write poetry, thanks for sharing that with us.
  16. Hello and welcome to the family, so great that you want to learn all you can since you have decided to add a grey to your life. I have a cockatiel that I "rescued" since she just dropped into my backyard one day this past summer and no one claimed her so I kept her, she is not a cuddly bird either but she loves to fly when she is out of her cage. I wish all other perspective grey owners would do the research you are doing before making that final plunge into owning one of these amazing creatures for they do require more than just a cage and some food. Be sure to check out the book "For the Love of Greys" by Bobbi Brinker, I think it is the best book on the market for information about greys but be sure to read thru as many of the threads here for lots of useful info about all aspects of giving a grey what they need and want. We have an other birds room where you can share a picture or two of Marble if you like, I know I would like to see him.
  17. I belong to facebook but I still can't see it, why don't you share it another way so we all can see it.
  18. Timmy loves to whistle and he must have seen lots of pretty women for he did the wolf whistle many times too, he does do a bit of pacing back and forth in front of the window but he is clearly enjoying himself, too bad he shuts up when you come into the room but some greys are just like that, thanks for sharing the videos with us.
  19. I keep hoping that Mino will be found before Christmas, keep looking and good luck.
  20. They look so sweet together and great that they are getting along so well but still watch them when they are together for Lucy could do serious damage to Rambo if she so desired, thanks for sharing the pics with us.
  21. I would suggest that if you leave it open when Charlie is out and about to set something on it that he is afraid of, that will keep the little bugger off until he isn't afraid of it any longer, then its time for something else.
  22. Sadly we all see this and it is heartbreaking because we can't save them all but I hope this one gets a new home where he gets the care and attention he needs and deserves, how sad so many creatures suffer like that.
  23. Greys do tend to be quiet and Josey fits that mold most of the time but like most all birds they have their times they are vocal and go thru most of their vocabulary then they are quiet again. If Marvin is making all sorts of sounds and such then he is adjusting to his new home for most will not chatter unless they are somewhat comfortable in their surroundings so you are doing fine so far. As far as bathing, why not read thru the stickies in the health room on bathing our greys, Dave has written up several that may help you with that problem.
  24. I love these greyt stories, keep em coming.
