  1. It is nice to hear from you again and pleased to hear that Tui is bonding with you now, looking forward to seeing those pictures when you get around to it.
  2. That is about right Ray, they are expensive pets but we wouldn't have it any other way.
  3. I cover my birds cages but Josey's cage is so big that the sheet does not come all the way to the bottom so she could peek out if she wanted to and I do not leave a nightlight on for them, their cages are in the family room where the opposite wall from where the cages are is mostly windows so if there is any moonlight it is the same as having a dim light on, so far I have had no problems.
  4. Congrats on your new addition, knew it wouldn't be long before you had another grey but so glad to hear you told those others offering wild caught greys for sale that you were willing to spend much more on hand raised babies. Sadly the practice of selling wild caught greys will only stop when people stop buying them, so sad their plight of spending their life in small cages when they were used to being free.
  5. I can't answer that as I don't know much about photography but we have had other people comment on a purplish hue to feathers sometime, it is interesting looking.
  6. She looks good outside and I am sure with more practice she will come to enjoy her outings.
  7. I have to agree it might be the deodorant smell, they do have more sensitive respiratory systems than we do so see if he can cut back on how much he uses and see if it makes any difference cause if it is overpowering to you then imagine what it must be for Archie.
  8. You can really see the purple tips on her feathers when she is wet, she is a beautiful grey, thanks for sharing them with us.

    Peanut Butter

Josey is not real fond of peanut butter but now Sunny my conure would go to town on it if I let her.
  10. I have a couple of ornamental crab apple trees Dave, are they safe also? They are most beautiful when in full bloom.
  11. She jumped on that like stink on, well you know what, she didn't give the other birds a chance to try it, its mine she says.

    Wings!!

Its settled then, its normal, Josey's wings is pretty much the same way.
  13. The food on our plates is always better than any that is in their bowl and they know it, maybe you should put your food in the bowl and hers on the plate and then you will both be happy.
  14. Well you have successfully bred cockatiels so now it is lovebirds, thanks for sharing them with us, they are adorable.
  15. It is nice to have you back on the forum and thanks for updating us on what Roxie is doing and saying, bet she is one spoiled brat.
  16. Ellie is so beautiful and the lens does her justice, thanks for sharing them with us. If you are able to come to April's bird club meeting we are all bringing our greys.
  17. Those are precious, she looks like she is having a wonderful time with that box, sometimes its the simple things that are big hits, who needs store bought toys, thanks for sharing the pics with us.
  18. Thats wonderful and it is the right thing to take it in small steps so he doesn't get scared, you want to make it an enjoyable experience for him, of course he was a charmer for the mail lady, so tomorrow he sees the daffodils.
  19. That looks great and she now has a wonderful view from the playstand, it does take them a while to get used to a new thing but it looks like a big hit. You did a real nice job with it.
  20. Noodle has found something that really excites him, turning over his water dish, he must have received a great reaction for that feat so now he wants to keep repeating it but Wingy's idea of the Tidy Seed Feeding System might just be the ticket to provide him with water that he can't poop in or dump.
  21. You have only had this grey for one week, that is not nearly enough time for her to feel comfortable in her new home and if she was abused before she came to you then you have your work cut out for you as it will take a longer time for her to come to trust you and the trust has to be earned. When you open the door and she comes out do not put any food or water other than what is in the cage and she will have to go back inside to eat or drink or you can put some kind of treat that she really likes in her food dish, make sure she sees you put it in and she may go back inside to get it and then you can close her up. In the meantime do talk softly to her, maybe sit by her cage and read to her and let her get more used to you being around, it takes lots of time and patience when working with a grey especially when she was caged up all the time.
  22. Hello Memory and welcome to our family and congrats on your new addition to your family. Do you have any other parrots, is this your first grey? Your baby is adorable and the wait will seem like forever until you can bring him/her home.
  23. Hello Andy and welcome to our family, so glad you and Titi could join us. Is he your first parrot, first grey?
