  1. She is a beauty to behold and you are totally smitten with her, this thread has been like bringing a new one home for everyone who has followed along with it, can't wait to hear more about this playstand and share all the pics you want as we can't get enough of Marco.
  2. Ellie is a beautiful subject but you do her proud with your pictures, I do hope I will get to see her in person Tuesday.
  3. DJ is adorable and looks like he has settled into his new home very nicely, loves head scratches but then they all do that, thanks for sharing the pics with us.

    Stolen

I am so sorry to hear this, burns me up that there are people who will stoop to such low down dirty rotten behavior to do such a thing, maybe the store should invest in security cameras before it happens again. I know the owner offered you another baby but you had already formed a relationship with Nova, I hope you are able to find him and the person responsible be severly punished. Keep us informed. Such a bad example of the human nature, I hope the guilty party does not procreate.
  5. I don't know if this was related but around the middle part of the day today several jets flew low over the house, they do this from time to time and they are loud, sometimes it is so low you can almost read the numbers on the underside of the plane, they use our area for manuevers and fly low and by the time you hear them they have already passed over.
  6. Now there are reports that one pilot was taken to the hospital and one civilian was being treated for injuries, thats all for the moment.
  7. Yes this does look like plucking to me since it is a bare spot. Maybe you can google the product and see if any company sells it that would ship to your country or if it is available there.
  8. You have a pretty and precious looking baby there and I like the name Nova so whether it is a male or a female the name fits, thanks for sharing the pics with us.

    Pellets

Harrisons is highly recommended by a lot of avian vets but that doesn't mean that what you feed your bird is any less nutritious, besides Dave said the breeders should decide what brand of pellet to use and this is what your breeder gave you so she must trust its quality.
  10. OMG, so glad you are not in that apartment complex that got hit, so far I haven't heard of any injuries or deaths but they will show up soon, the pilots ejected out from what I hear, the pets that may be inside will be the least of their worries for the time being but lets hope none were hurt. I know this was all you needed right now but hope you are getting over your ordeal and hopefully you will have no more kidney stones.

    Pellets

Josey prefers the Harrisons and I use the High Potency Fine as she seems to like it better than the coarse, I don't think she wastes as much of it.
  12. You better check to see what requirements are necessary long before you plan to go and whether there are any quarantine periods, they are very strict about this in that state, here is one link. http://hawaii.gov/hdoa/ai/ldc/birds
  13. Dave007 recommends this product so why not try it and see if it helps. http://www.avitec.com/Feather-In-AntiPick-Treatment-p/fi.htm

    Pellets

My avian vet recommends Harrisons so Josey eats that, I have never tried her on any other brand except TOPS.
  15. Well anyone would think you might be a tad excited about today and 2 pm is it huh, well I will be listening for any fireworks at that time, congrats the long wait is over and now the real fun begins, welcome to the rest of your life. Pictures please.
  16. Some greys have these and they may or may not molt out but enjoy the uniqueness of it while it lasts and who knows they may stay, very pretty.
  17. They are an Easter basket full of fun, so colorful and adorable, sorry you lost one but nature sometimes can be cruel.
  18. Such a pretty grey, love the one with the spread wing, thanks for sharing them with us.
  19. Don't assume that because Archie gets along with one of your tiels that you can just put another grey in the same cage, each bird should have their own cage to call their own and greys are known to not get along with another grey unless they were nest mates. We do have some members who have bird rooms where all their birds and even more than one grey are out at the same time but they usually keep some distance from one another and should be supervised for one little squabble could end violently. You have a special relationship there with Archie and the tiel.
  20. The others are right, don't sweat the small stuff, get this grey and enjoy.
  21. It is sometimes scary but pleasantly to see how smart these guys really are, keeps you on your toes thats for sure.
  22. I am having trouble understanding exactly what you are saying. Your bird looks less than one year old from the color of the eyes and if I am reading you correctly you have had this bird for 2 months, is that right? He could be going thru a molt as that would explain the feathers being lost but they don't usually lose in one spot like this shows. I recommend you have him checked out by an avian vet to see if there is a medical reason for that bare spot.
  23. Dawn, I don't think you will have a problem, my husband is a big hunter and our house is filled with heads, whole bodies of some animals and birds. We have a bear, mule deer, elk, coyote, red fox, whitetails, caribou, ducks, geese and whole mounted turkeys. They were mostly all here when my grey arrived and she didn't pay them much mind, she is a little scared at first when a new one is introduced but she doesn't fly so she never fools with any of them. I do have a cockatiel that will fly and land on the various animals including the turkeys several of which are on the wall over the area where the bird's cages are so they probably think they are just part of the room, I have never had one of my birds chew on any of the animals.
  24. It does look to me like it is a bare spot on the chest from possible plucking. Have you seen feathers that look chewed off on the ends? My recommendation is to have this bird seen by your avian vet to rule out anything physical and if not then you will have to see if you can find the reason for this behavior. Has there been any changes in this bird's environment, how long have you had this bird, how old is this bird, do you have other birds or pets? Lots of reasons for this but maybe if we knew some more about the bird we could be of more help to you. How are you reacting to this behavior? If you make a big deal out of it then it could encourage further damage. Please give us more information.
  25. Congrats on putting that deposit down on your baby Cag, yes the wait will be long but well worth it and then you have the rest of your life to spend getting to know and love this baby. I agree that it doesn't matter much about the sex of the bird as either one will make an excellent companion. Many thanks to Stephen for guiding you in the right direction, he is a very much satisified customer.
