Can someone really define that "difference" Judy mentions for a novice like me. I dunno if Tonto is happy or mad... both the feelings are so extreemly opposite.

TARI: how are you. Thanks for posting these pics. This was a great idea. But... if this is what they look like when happy, then what does angry look like? Vinegar works! I tried it and it is great. Put it in a Windex bottle and spray. I still love the plastic sheets I use though.

I need to read more about Alex. Anyone knows a comprenhensive site? I am not into books, I prefer online stuff. Can anyone post a few sites with the work done on him?

NO! This is the worst news EVER. Alex will be deeply missed. We hope that the Dr. will continue the great work she is doing and help us in better understanding our friends, the African Grays. All we can do now is pray that Dr. Pepperburg will find another great gray and not be broken by this tragic and tremendous loss. Alex will be missed.

I dunno the asnswer to question 1, but I sure can answer about the poop (I am a sweage engineer!) Use plastic sheets. I bought transparent type. My two birds poop all they want and even throw food all over and it's a breeze to clean. Hope this helps. Also, dettol and pinesol are nice products

TAGs might not be as beautiful as the CAGs, but are definately more calm. All people who own TAGs rarely complain of biting/training issues. They are not easily available where I live or I would have goten one.

Got a CAG, but I'd had purchased a TAG if I had found a one. Not prejudiced to either species.

Chet Womak is full of CHIT!? I saw his video once and it seemed too easy. I knew it was a fake. the bird was already tamed. not screaming, not scared. That is a joke.

Cage moved closer to me. He is now flapping his wings after every meal. And gets on the food tray to do this. Never uses the water cup for wing flapping. These birds have weird personalities.

I have Tonto (CAG) and Tulip, my ringneck. Does Tulip's cat-like behavior also teach things to Tonto? He made a few sounds today, but mostly he is quiet. He has not yet started being himself yet. Just sits idle in one spot on his stand. He has toys. Maybe I should move him next to my fav couch, so he can get comfortable next to me?

Hey Dan, Yeah, I tried the perch thing. But then I toop him off the perch on my hand. That is the mistake I made, now he even hates the perch. I am going to take it slow now till he starts trusting me.

Judy, I will try to do that, I was thinking of getting a glove. If I do it the way you say by just puting my hand there, he would not step up. So, should I give him time to become friends first so he behaves like he did in the shop?

Zooky: I hope Mende is fine. We all know that it is sad, but we know how much it hurts to be in a situation like yours. But you did a great thing taking the bird in. How long have you had him? Is he trained?

Yesterday my new CAG stepped up pn my hand and was with me for about 15 minutes screaming a bit. today when I came from work, he won't come up and just scream so I grabbed his foot and finally he came. Lots of screaming. Just now when I tried, he just goes really low, hides feet and screams real loud. Should I wait a few more days? Maybe till we are friends?

JUDYYYYYYYY! Yes, he did bite, but I do not call that real biting that's just holding my fingers a little hard. No bleeding I mean. But slightly painful. Youhave no idea how much I need to group-hug this forum!!!!!!! I really wanna take a day off work and just play with him already.
