Coco, been going over and facing the corner of her cage and scratching like a dog or a cat.Why is this?It seems like I have read about this somewhere, but I can't remember why this is.

In the wild, greys (and many if not all) birds scratch about on the ground to unearth hidden food. Coco may be bored, foraging, or wanting out (or all three!). It's very normal - I've heard of lots of greys doing it on this forum. Klaus used to do it a lot when he was a little younger, but has stopped for the most part because it doesn't get him any results. (ie We don't let him out for doing that, if it's not a good time to have him out.) Hope that helps!

Josey still does that from time to time and she is going on 22 months of age, it looks like a chicken scratching.:P
Yes it does look like a chicken scratching.

Its funny to watch and she usually does it on her playtop when she wants me to come and get her, she looks so pitiful that of course I break down and get her, I can't deny her.

Alcazar did that for awhile when I got him for like couple months...He hasnt done it since,So Im thinking he just wanted out.

Eddie does this a lot too and he's 3 now. He likes to do it because theres a gap at the bottom of his cage and if he pretends to be giving the dog some seed he found at the bottom, he can just nip the end of the dogs nose through the gap!

The stupid thing is that the dog falls for it everytime! Its seed for goodness sake, is it really worth a nip on the nose for a sunflower seed? Jeez. I am going to have to try and film it as it has to be seen to be believed!:)
