  1. They look to be doing what cats do best: lounging around waiting on the bed & breakfast staff to get with the program. 😂
  2. We really want another cat but can't. We have too many free-flyers and floor walkers to risk it. There was an adoption event at the Petsmart I went into today. I found several cats I would have drug home.
  3. Wow, we have something very similar that I found somewhere. It's dirty right now because it's been sitting in the aviary awaiting a new rope wrap (Greycie likes the sides wrapped in sisal for easy grip and nice nibbles). I hung it in the living room just for a photo and Greybie instantly decided this was a very good place for it. By the way, your wall will look fabulous with some nice food splatter there 😂
  4. These two .... 20191025_211548.mp4
  5. Out of all my birds, nobirdy holds a candle to my bitey-ass conures. But their so dang cute I can't resist going in for more punishment.
  6. We've had a few cats. The one just before our last cat got renal failure (pretty common I guess). The vet gave us a choice of putting the cat down or administering drips under his skin. We extended him maybe a year(?). He would do really good after a drip then start to taper off. Eventually they got to where they weren't working and he sadly left us. Wife wants another cat but we can't risk it with all the snacks flying around.
  7. That's a Grey for you. Exact same behavior out of our Huey. He's female preferential. When I go to put him in in his cage at night to sleep he never wants to go and has bitten the hell out of me a few times when I was to lazy to take something to protect my thumb. He will also bite me when he doesn't want to be put down. I believe he thinks I am that hard-headed and need some forceful communication. He never bites my wife this way as she can do no wrong. Sometimes he's balking at being put down because he really likes to be swing (standing up). I don't mind swinging him but sometimes he wants it for 10-20 minutes and that's a really long time if I need to get going.
  8. I found that by direct pasting the youtube link into the post it will automatically retrieve the video thumbnail image. All I did was grab the URL under the 'share' option from youtube and past it here:
  9. She's always been a girly girl kind of a CAG. Here her is enjoying some evening time turning our brains into mush in front of the idiot box. Iposted this a year or so ago but can't find it so re-posting:
  10. Poor GreycieMae needed a pep talk. Her just couldn't take the heat, Huey...everything that gets a girl down. 😍 🥰 GreycieMaePepTalk.mp4
  11. This site used to accept bbcode...haven't tried it in a while. doesn't seem to work anymore
  12. My meme but not my bird. The owner of the bird got a kick out of it...
  13. Not a meme and not a Grey but I can't stop laughing when I see this (you have to listen to it with sound): ConureJackhammer.mp4
  14. It better be safe. Kermey goes through a box per week in my office. Posing in front of his latest project:
  15. I have a workout buddy too! Actually two of them. GreycieMae loves to sit on my bike mounted in the trainer, music on 'drive wife crazy' mode, and A/C blowing hard while daddy gets after it. HRH sounds like a very special 'The Birdy' indeed 😂
  16. For now just let him adjust to you and the goings on around your house. They can take months before they make any kind of headway towards you. Keep offering treats as this really can get to a bird. There is a technique used to tame wild/feral pigeons called finger feeding. Birds for whatever reason can dissociate a humans hands from the human they're attached to and remain afraid of the hand but not the face hence along came the finger feeding technique to solve this. I used it on my lil wild conure and it worked just like it works on pigeons, but I'm not so sure about if it will help speed things up with an adult african grey (they're a little smarter than the rest of the herd 😂 ) Time and patience are ultimately whats going to win him over. You have no idea what kind of baggage he's carrying either. It sounds to me like he was rough handled, with a broom or something. Lots of birds come from these situations.
  17. Our birds are same way, some days I wish I could just have perch potatoes. They all take a break from the chaos at around 2:30pm everyday but 3ish rolls around and it's time to get the party started again.
  18. Sorry about the language on this one but it's too good: And of course the videos people make are even better: TielForce.mp4
  19. Definitely love Bird Memes. That's one facebook group I don't usually get into it with anyone. So many good memes come across that one... Who did it better? (in case it's unreadable, the pull tab reads 'now I have')
  20. GreycieMae: into ever damn thing when no one is looking Huey: Constructionings foreman (he loves to "build" things in his special drawer)
  21. GreycieMae is actually a nickname that has evolved into her name. She gets called Greycie mainly when she's being ornery. GreycieMissesMacie GreybieGrey I call her GurFren (girl friend) a lot too
  22. Around our house the most important meal of the day is 'Lunches with the Ladies' which is served at the request of Huey (our local ladies man) morning, noon and night. A plain english bagel would most likely get tossed on the floor (in a thousand bits) and there would be pacing and gnashing of beaks. HueyLunchingwiththeLadies.mp4
  23. Wife has a new classroom this year. I thought it was pretty nice of the school to install a nice skyhook to hang a batbird from. She hung there for about an hour before she wanted down. Crazy bird.
  24. I just bought the ATS1719 in July and it came with the stainless bowls. Conner lives in it now (sleep cage).
