I couldn't make him do anything, even if I tried, He is way to stubborn and smart to be fooled or give in.
-
Storm LOVES chicken, mind you I have never given it to him bbq'd either baked or boiled
-
I make storm "birdie mash" with sweet potatoes or pumpkin or even both, I add in some fruit and veggies baby food, some oats, some diced up green peppers, usually some beans or some other sprouts, some pineapple juice if it seems a bit dry, add in some palm oil. Scoop it by the teaspoon onto a cookie sheet lined with waxed paper and freeze it. He gets 1 a day every morning, warmed up with a piece of birdie bread on top....he LOVES this and reminds you that he needs "help" why its help I have no idea it just is lol

I about done....Storm who will be 2 tomorrow is giving me a run for my money today. Last year I was finally able to get him into his harness so he could go outside and he did and he liked it.....Now this year I have not been able to get him in his harness at all, no matter how much I try he just shrieks at me so I gave up. He wants outside so badly but since he refuses to wear it I won't take him, but of course he doesn't understand human logic, he know what he wants and will do anything to get it, even if it means flying into the window or the screen to get his point across.....I did think that I should put it on in the winter but was more afraid that when we didn't actually go anywhere that would be upsetting for him bc he does love to get out and walk with us and in Canada thats not practical for a bird in -35C weather, ice storms, windchills etc etc so I didn't...now I am kicking myself for it. He probably would stay with me as he is such a mommas bird BUT just my luck something would either spook him or look fun and off he would go ....
-
Storm usually goes in the shower with me, but if he is impatient and just cannot wait he will fly to the kitchen sink when I am doing dishes and wait for me to turn the codl water tap on, then he is content to play in the water for 30 mins or so.
-
But its such a gentle wipe, barely grazing the wall, its almost like he is kissing it......I would have thought with shedding it would be rougher lol, he does kiss the wall as well but that is so super adorable with the kissing sound LOL.....I will for sure look for those hose clamps when I am in the hardware store tomorrow, I am hoping he will drink enough out of the bottle to be able to do away with the dish entirely
-
It must be for a reason, I'm sure he isn't doing it for nothing. He isn't rough either, but he does rub his beak against the wall, it looks like he is trying to taste it most of the time...is he trying to tell me something? As well as I am trying to teach him to drink from a water bottle, with the summer here and his delight in making soup with his pellets, I was hoping for a cleaner water for longer than 5 minutes, he knows how to drink from it because when I hold it he goes crazy for it at first it was a game but he has learned the cause and effect so i tried hanging it on his cage and he's great with it for about 30 mins or so but then he comes out and undoes the hangar and tosses it on the floor....what is the best way to keep it ON his cage but making it hard for him to remove?

I am hesitant to sign this, not because I don't care but I would hate for this place to be investigated for nothing IF by chance what is being said isn't true or if someone is just trying to get revenge or for whatever reason.........I ask the same question as above, have you seen this personally? -
i would be like you and not bring them inside.
-
Yes he was snoring.....he also makes the sound of a drip ....just one drip, no clue where it came from but it sounds so cool.
-
I was playing with Storm, made this noise and the next day he started it in his own...he now does this all day long, he does it when i am talking to him (i guess he doesn't wanna listen to me??) he does it if i am on the phone to long and of course, he does it for the simple reason that he can do it..... so at about 9-10 seconds you will hear it, and you will laugh and you might even say "aww thats so cute" or something similar....than you remember what i said....he does this all day long.. you stop laughing and than start being greatful that he is my house not yours!!! lmao, he is a funny boy ...if u wanna add me as a friend thats fine, if not than you can still look.
-
ty, I wondered bc we play the "I'm gonna get your beak" game all the time and I thought I hurt him ....pic is public now so you can see
-
I noticed this morning Storm's beak looked different, when i looked a little closer and felt it, it feels like a piece maybe fell off, it doesn't feel like a single smooth piece anymore......did something happen to him or is this normal? Will his beak ever be normal again??? Here is a pic you can see the beak is ALL there it just looks odd and feels just as odd..... ETA: If it matters he is 19 months old, nor does he act like it hurts, I can still touch and grab his beak and he is ok with that. He eats well also

please make sure you check the requirements for bringing her into this country, customs can be a huge pain in the butt and they have so many rules

Storm has decided that he likes the noise of my kitchen timer and also has decided that he MUST make that sound ALL DAY LONG, no matter how much is human momma hates it, no matter how much she has begged him to stop, no matter how much she just wants to scream stfu (no I didn't and I wouldn't) and the sad thing is he KNOWS I am tried of it but now that he has gotten attention from it, it is never gonna stop lol. At one point I thought he finally was ready to stop when I said "storm there is nothing in the oven" and he replied perfectly with "OK" and he stopped...for about 3 seconds lol. Of course he hasn't responded to my suggestion again.
-
lol thats funny, until as you say a bottle falls and knocks someone unconscious.....Storm likes to be on the tap while I am doing dishes so he can take his shower.....
-
Storm doesn't like returning to his either, the door is usually always open except at bedtimes or unless I am out. for us it works bc I work at home and am here much of the time. He does put himself to bed and he will go in if he doesn't want to be bothered, he has just starting shutting his door now also to reiterate that he wants to be left alone lol.

of my nerdie birdie. I have no idea why he does what he does at the end EVERY SINGLE TIME, but I am expect one day he will crack his beak Anyway, he is 18 months old now and is very much a "mama's bird" he needs to be wherever I am preferably ON me, but is ok some of the time to be right beside me. He says a few words now "peek a boo" I'm gonna get your beak, I'm gonna get" "Oh I got it" "good boy" "be good" he whines like the dog and I think he might be having an identity crisis bc he started howling like the dog and he squeals like a girl. Perfect timing last week, my daughter asked what we were gonna have for dinner? I told her "we are having chicken tonight" when he heard that he let out this scared squeal noise LMAO was so funny. Anyway A quick video of Storm and his toy. I did change the settings of this to public but if you cannot see it let me know

I just throw things together put them in teeny tiny muffin pans and bake. Each time I make it, its different.
-
aww that is so cute. We don't have stairs but even if we did I suspect he would fly
-
Our tv is on from teh time I get up until I go to bed. Even if I am not home the tv still works
-
Do grey's have the right anatomy to cough like us humans? Storm started making this coughing noise this morning. I am almost certain that he is mimicking me or my daughter but wanted to make sure that they cannot cough. He doesn't seem sick, so I assume he is fine and just trying to see how fat he can induce a heart attack in this human lol.
-
I have 1 but Storm is to heavy for it and it tips quite easily, For that reason only we no longer use it
-
he is 14.5 months old

and I mean that in the most lovable way, but he really is very clingy and seems to need to be right where I am at all times, no matter how inconvenient it may be. I don't usually lock him in his cage bc I am home most of the time, if I go out obviously I lock him in. Lately he has decided that he just cannot be without me, if I am outside he comes to the door, if I am in the bathtub he comes and sits on the side of the tub and watches me, if I am in the shower so is he, if I am in bed he yells and hollers for me that he is alone and yells "help" (LMAO) he just refuses to be alone.. Is this normal behaviour? he has always preferred to be near where I am and it was all good as long as he could see me, now it needs to be ON me etc etc... He has only a small vocab ....goodboy, got your beak, peek a boo, and help ...I admit that when he is yelling Help it cracks me up and he is very aware of it bc he just does it again and cocks his head to the side and waits for the laughter , sometimes he will laugh with me but not always lol. He is a funny bird, and he knows it. How can i best teach him that he doesn't need to be with me or even on my person ALL THE TIME, without hurting his little bird feelings and yes he makes me very aware of when I hurt his feelings bc he turns away from me and won't look at me.
