  1. LOL I was thinking that too! I'd have to lose a few "grams" before those toes would hold me.
  2. LOL Have use cheeseCAKE to lure me onto the scales. It would probably work too!
  3. Woohoo! I weighed Timber (TAG) last night (using the cheese lure) and he has gained 4 grams after two weeks, putting him up to a whopping 275 grams. I'm so pleased to see him in the "normal" range, even if just barely!
  4. Timber's main area of "clumsiness" is getting his nails caught in things. That is something they don't deal with as much in the wild. Rugs, grills etc. are natural "nail catchers." When they are in the cage, their wings (that they use for balance in the wild) hit the cage sides, bars etc. What I'm trying to say is that the things we have in our house aren't their natural habitat, hence the "clumsiness." Hope that made sense, but it's already been said by others on this thread anyway!
  5. ROFL! Don't let my husband see these or I just know they will be under the tree for me at Christmas.
  6. Funny! I'm such a creature of habit myself that I've often thought that is why Timber and I get along as well as we do. I wonder how many other grey parronts are the same?
  7. Ah, I get it. Hubby went for a one hour CT scan that ran into 4 hours last week. They were supposed to give him something to drink beforehand and didn't so he had to drink it there. Then the machine was tied up, blah, blah, blah indeed!
  8. Sounds like a good one to me. I was glad to see they didn't change the url to hide from stalkers such as myself
  9. LOL He probably knows it is a more appropriate name!
  10. Seven years for me. I wish I could say that I think smoke smells horrible but that would be a lie! Still smells kinda good...
  11. ^^Amen! I'm so sorry to hear about Whitney's condition. On the other hand, you have had your baby about four months if I'm correct? I have had my rehomed TAG for a little over 3 months and I am so attached to him that I couldn't part with him if he had no wings and no balance. I can understand how disappointed and upset you are, and as Jayd said it is a decision that must be yours alone.
  12. Woohoo! What great news Just makes your heart go pitter-patter doesn't it?
  13. Yikes, all day bone scan? That sounds like a hassle, and I hope all is well. Nancy, thanks! Maybe you'd better wait until I actually follow through and teach him something though. If our experience runs true to form, it will be him teaching me something
  14. Sassy, if you have any concerns at all I'd have her checked out by the vet. It sounds like it certainly may be "normal" behavior, but it isn't a risk I'd want to take. Yes, I'm a nervous nelly, but experience with other animals has taught me that I'd always rather be safe than sorry. Also, on a practical note, often a vet visit is cheaper than the treatment if you don't catch things early.
  15. I am too Sassy and I don't blame you for being worried! I know I would have been. I have a cam on Timber now too, and it is a two-edged sword. I love being able to see what he's doing all day, but I'm 40 minutes from home too. He plays on the floor a lot also, and is a forager. He will throw his food down there then eat it off the bottom. I noticed earlier that he appeared to be napping down there after he shredded a box I had left for him. He didn't stay a long time, but his eyes were closed for a few minutes! however, he wasn't lying down.
  16. Not a clue Sassy, but I'm going to respond to keep your post at the top for someone who can help!
  17. That reminds me of how Timber acts with everyone but me. He seems to enjoy a "cage game" or sorts. When my husband or my son put their hand on his cage, he will lunge at it then wait until they put their hand in another spot then he will run and lunge at their hand. When we first got him, I thought this was cage possession/aggression. As time went by, I realized he was playing. Many times, he could have bitten them if that was his intent, but it doesn't seem to be. He actually bites the cage, not the hand. When my son comes in the room, Timber immediately goes to the bottom of the cage and waits for Dakota to "play" with him. if either of them actually stick their hand through the door inside the cage, he doesn't lunge or run at it. I'm not sure what Gilbert's "intent" is. I guess time will tell! They sure are interesting, and so individual in their thinking!
  18. Cool video! What a joy she is. Thanks for sharing
