Funny! I'm such a creature of habit myself that I've often thought that is why Timber and I get along as well as we do. I wonder how many other grey parronts are the same?

Ah, I get it. Hubby went for a one hour CT scan that ran into 4 hours last week. They were supposed to give him something to drink beforehand and didn't so he had to drink it there. Then the machine was tied up, blah, blah, blah indeed!

^^Amen! I'm so sorry to hear about Whitney's condition. On the other hand, you have had your baby about four months if I'm correct? I have had my rehomed TAG for a little over 3 months and I am so attached to him that I couldn't part with him if he had no wings and no balance. I can understand how disappointed and upset you are, and as Jayd said it is a decision that must be yours alone.

Sassy, if you have any concerns at all I'd have her checked out by the vet. It sounds like it certainly may be "normal" behavior, but it isn't a risk I'd want to take. Yes, I'm a nervous nelly, but experience with other animals has taught me that I'd always rather be safe than sorry. Also, on a practical note, often a vet visit is cheaper than the treatment if you don't catch things early.

I am too Sassy and I don't blame you for being worried! I know I would have been. I have a cam on Timber now too, and it is a two-edged sword. I love being able to see what he's doing all day, but I'm 40 minutes from home too. He plays on the floor a lot also, and is a forager. He will throw his food down there then eat it off the bottom. I noticed earlier that he appeared to be napping down there after he shredded a box I had left for him. He didn't stay a long time, but his eyes were closed for a few minutes! however, he wasn't lying down.

That reminds me of how Timber acts with everyone but me. He seems to enjoy a "cage game" or sorts. When my husband or my son put their hand on his cage, he will lunge at it then wait until they put their hand in another spot then he will run and lunge at their hand. When we first got him, I thought this was cage possession/aggression. As time went by, I realized he was playing. Many times, he could have bitten them if that was his intent, but it doesn't seem to be. He actually bites the cage, not the hand. When my son comes in the room, Timber immediately goes to the bottom of the cage and waits for Dakota to "play" with him. if either of them actually stick their hand through the door inside the cage, he doesn't lunge or run at it. I'm not sure what Gilbert's "intent" is. I guess time will tell! They sure are interesting, and so individual in their thinking!

I gave him another last night. I think he smelled it because he was hopping around and looking excited before he actually saw it. He even looked different... feathers slicked down, neck fully extended, pupils dilated. He made an eee, eee, sound I hadn't heard before when I gave it to him. Definitely excited! How often should he have one is my question? I bought a bag of frozen wings so I could boil one for him as often as he should have on.

I read the article and enjoyed it Sara, especially after a failure to get Timber to step off on the scale tonight. I need to spend more time "doing" something with him like training. We always have our cuddle time, but I haven't really tried to teach him anything (except step up).

I'm going to try that. Wish me luck
