  1. I will post in the health room. I do strip the majority of the meat off. Funny to see him gnaw the gristle off the end though! And yes, I'd like to give him one daily, though I'd assume he would get tired of it as he does most things.
  2. LOL! I'm sure hubby is older and wiser now. Funny about "company" too! Makes me want the shoes more though... I'm not a very "social" person. I would put the shoes on for certain ones if I thought there was a chance they would think twice about coming again. The shoes, the gray hair color, and the red weave might do it for sure!
  3. That's a beautiful and encouraging story! Odd about the noise bothering some. Those whistles, chirps and household appliance mimics just tell me Timber is active and engaged. I can't imagine that anyone would not realize that birds (and other animals) are noisy, at least to some extent. Don't they hear the birds outside? I didn't know nearly as much as I should have when I brought Timber into my home, but I certainly didn't expect silence.
  4. What great ideas! Bless you for your perseverance, and know that our thoughts and prayers are with you.
  5. Yes, it is! Timber shows excitement when cheese is involved too. Birdie crack
  6. LOL! I enjoyed all these posts. The greys thought process amazes me to the point that I wonder if they don't know very well what they are doing. For example, Sara, do you sometimes wonder if Sondheim isn't laughing evilly to himself when he calls you BooBoo?
  7. LOL! Must be more careful... My middle son is always saying "AFLAC" to Timber (from that commercial... I think it is duck that says AFLAC). I pulled Timber up on my phone (via the webcam) last night while we were eating pizza. He was sitting there practicing, saying aflac, aflac, aflac. Here we go!
  8. Morana, for children here, we call ages 18 months to 3 years or so the "terrible twos" because they are into everything and don't listen. From what I've read hear, greys go through a similar "stage" at that age. I think this is what you are asking. If not, just ignore this response!
  9. Haaaa! I've have/had teenagers. I can come pretty close to the grey scream. Sara, since fake crows might be expensive, take the cheaper route. Get the shoes, slather yourself with body lotion, go stand in the bird room long enough to get a good layer of fluff and dander, and you will be most of the way there! You have enough birds that if you spent a week or so collecting stray feathers, I'm sure you could design an appropriate head piece. Also, you must take and post pics
  10. Yes, I just saw a piece of white fluff drift by in the breeze (windows are open). To think, I used to pride myself on how sanitary my kitchen was...
  11. LOLOL Sad thing is your husband (if he's like mine) wouldn't be a bit surprised to see you hanging from the chandelier! Now when he goes to the frig he says, "Can I eat this or is it reserved for the bird?"
  12. LOL That was one of my first questions when I brought Timber home! I thought he was plucking when I saw the white stuff.
  13. Good looking guy! And, I see he is looking petrified
  14. LOL In my case, a size 10 and a 4 x 4 please!
  15. Getting my nerve up... I think I will try it like that. Timber is a cuddler now and that might work with him.
  16. LOL I was thinking that too! I'd have to lose a few "grams" before those toes would hold me.
  17. LOL Have use cheeseCAKE to lure me onto the scales. It would probably work too!
  18. Woohoo! I weighed Timber (TAG) last night (using the cheese lure) and he has gained 4 grams after two weeks, putting him up to a whopping 275 grams. I'm so pleased to see him in the "normal" range, even if just barely!
  19. Timber's main area of "clumsiness" is getting his nails caught in things. That is something they don't deal with as much in the wild. Rugs, grills etc. are natural "nail catchers." When they are in the cage, their wings (that they use for balance in the wild) hit the cage sides, bars etc. What I'm trying to say is that the things we have in our house aren't their natural habitat, hence the "clumsiness." Hope that made sense, but it's already been said by others on this thread anyway!
  20. ROFL! Don't let my husband see these or I just know they will be under the tree for me at Christmas.
  21. Funny! I'm such a creature of habit myself that I've often thought that is why Timber and I get along as well as we do. I wonder how many other grey parronts are the same?
  22. Ah, I get it. Hubby went for a one hour CT scan that ran into 4 hours last week. They were supposed to give him something to drink beforehand and didn't so he had to drink it there. Then the machine was tied up, blah, blah, blah indeed!
