  1. Welcome Sohn and Tequila! Looking forward to pics
  2. The avian light thing came up in another post recently. My advice is to carefully read the instructions with the light. There is a "burn in" time (number of hours on) during which the light is needs to be about a foot further away. After the burn in time is over, you move it closer. I did that and didn't have any problems with the light hanging over Timber's cage. Another forum member (sorry, I read all the posts and forget who said what) said to watch the voltage or wattage. Hopefully whoever that was will chime in.
  3. Just goes to show that they are never to old to do new things! Hope my Timber will pick up on the words one of these days as well. He is about 5 and I've had him almost 8 months. He will chatter when I'm in another room, but doesn't say much when I'm with him. Good for Alfie!
  4. Great news and what a lot of progress you have made! Good going
  5. That's what I think Daniela. I always whistle back so he knows where I am and I've always thought it was part of bonding.
  6. What a horrible, horrible experience. My heart goes out to you!
  7. Guess that is just another way they are all different Chezron? Timber whistles every time I leave the room and does it periodically until I return. His whistle is the first thing I hear when I move around in the morning and when I pull in the drive from work.
  8. Funny! Thanks for posting the video.
  9. I was able to watch it. Cool video, thanks for posting What is his name?
  10. Timber isn't a laundry thief either, but one of my cats is! He will haul off things that are bigger than he is...
  11. Hello and welcome to you and Mickey
  12. Ah yes, I can see that. I believe Timber regards me as the rather dull-witted yet necessary flock member who goes forth and gathers his supplies.
  13. Yeah for Oliver! Curious about the beak.
  14. His interest would spark hers I would assume. I know Timber strives to be the center of attention. Hope you had a good visit!
  15. Loved the pics! Jellybean probably feels your stress with the remodeling and your husband deploying. They are very sensitive to tension I've found.
  16. Great pic! Looks like Kiwi doesn't want to miss a thing!
  17. I think most greys are like that. Timber does like to be scratched and cuddled, but it is always in his time and when he wants it. Woe to me if I try it any other time!
  18. OK Lulu, I have to share something with you. Over the weekend, I realized that Timber calls me "Jamie." All well in good except that my name is Karen. I didn't realize that he called me anything, but hubby was downstairs before me Saturday (we sleep on the second floor, Timber is on the first). When Timber hears me move from the bedroom to the bathroom he starts whistling and talking. I can hear the whistle but not the words. Hubby was down here and he heard him saying, "come here, come here Jamie" over and over. Well, now I know! And, it is better than "asshole" which he has called my husband several times. Too bad we live so far apart. Otherwise, Jamie and Lulu could get the evil twins, Timber and Gilbert, together for a play date!
  19. Looks like he is making headway! Funny
  20. Timber has the one with the bell at the bottom and he loves it. His primary goal is to unscrew it so that the whole thing falls to the bottom of the cage. Keeps him occupied for awhile which is the point though so it's all good!
