  1. Yes, they do know when you are upset, mad, moody or whatever!
  2. Amazing how those little things we don't think anything about make such a difference. Timber has now adjusted to me wearing my headband (aerobics) but he is still cautious about it after 10 months.
  3. Welcome to you and Elf! Good luck and God bless
  4. LOL! Jake is probably thinking, "what, do you not speak English or are you just really slow?? Did I stutter?" LOL
  5. Ah, the joys of bird parronthood! Talk about a patience builder!
  6. LOL Yeah, they are great little manipulators! I have a permanent "sucker" sign on my forehead now I think
  7. Very good post Dan. Most of us post primarily when our bird does something interesting or cute, not when they are having a "satan's spawn" moment. I'm sure there are forum members who have never been bitten and have docile birds. I'd say there are more that experience the moody bites and unexplained (to us) actions. Timber just nailed me yesterday (blood drawer) over a very minor offense (in my mind). Yes, it upsets me when it happens and he goes in time out with a stern "no bite." Has that helped? Not much that I can see. He is very strong willed as well, and I wouldn't have him any other way! Later in the day, he was on my arm wanting scratches.
  8. Neat idea with the stroller!
  9. When she's not using it of course!
  10. I see what you mean about her fixation with the jar. Really makes you wonder what is going through their minds!
  11. Do you think they put their heads together and plan? Like "it's my turn to get her today?"
  12. LOL Great pics. Make sure you note the features she has "bookmarked."
  13. Hello and welcome Gemma! There is a lot of information on the forum for new parronts. If I were you I've be reading! If you have any questions just ask. Someone will be able to help you.
  14. Very nice! Since you say you share the kitchen, my only question is... where's your part??
  15. Looks to me like he is well on the way to being wrapped around her talon!
  16. Good work there Sterling! No help here since I don't use one. I am thinking of getting a pak-o-bird. Not the same I know but it would allow me to take Timber out more. He can sit on our screened porches (we have one front and back) and enjoys that.
  17. Loved the video. I enjoy watching birds just enjoying life
  18. LOL If your methods are like mine, just the first of many epic failures
  19. How pretty! Wish spring would come here. It is lagging behind this year.
  20. Thanks! Got it ordered. Cheaper there with shipping than anywhere else I've found it.
  21. Hello and welcome to you and Methusaleh! Looking forward to the pics.
  22. Lucky indeed! The closest avian certified vet for us is two hours away.
  23. I'm wondering if Timber would like the safflower seeds. He isn't big on sunflower seed either. He will eat them, but not very enthusiastically. Greys (and other birds I'm sure) are so individual in their tastes! Timber likes walnuts and almonds, but won't touch pecans, hazelnuts or brazil nuts.
  24. I've never seen the roasted pine nuts in the shell. However, they are Timber's favorite treat shelled. Just my luck, he wouldn't like them in the shell! Ha.
