  1. Hello and welcome Gemma! There is a lot of information on the forum for new parronts. If I were you I've be reading! If you have any questions just ask. Someone will be able to help you.
  2. Very nice! Since you say you share the kitchen, my only question is... where's your part??
  3. Looks to me like he is well on the way to being wrapped around her talon!
  4. Good work there Sterling! No help here since I don't use one. I am thinking of getting a pak-o-bird. Not the same I know but it would allow me to take Timber out more. He can sit on our screened porches (we have one front and back) and enjoys that.
  5. Loved the video. I enjoy watching birds just enjoying life
  6. LOL If your methods are like mine, just the first of many epic failures
  7. How pretty! Wish spring would come here. It is lagging behind this year.
  8. Thanks! Got it ordered. Cheaper there with shipping than anywhere else I've found it.
  9. Hello and welcome to you and Methusaleh! Looking forward to the pics.
  10. Lucky indeed! The closest avian certified vet for us is two hours away.
  11. I'm wondering if Timber would like the safflower seeds. He isn't big on sunflower seed either. He will eat them, but not very enthusiastically. Greys (and other birds I'm sure) are so individual in their tastes! Timber likes walnuts and almonds, but won't touch pecans, hazelnuts or brazil nuts.
  12. I've never seen the roasted pine nuts in the shell. However, they are Timber's favorite treat shelled. Just my luck, he wouldn't like them in the shell! Ha.
  13. Kaylee is a pretty lady! The fact that she will stand on your hand and let you get that close (pic 4) is a great sign. A lot of us who rehome wait a long time for that. Good luck and God bless
  14. Hello and welcome Moni What is your girl's name? We would also love to see pics. I'm a novice, but some of the more experienced members will come along with help for your barber/plucking issues.
  15. Thanks! Timber isn't a fruit eater so he probably won't eat any of the dried fruit.
  16. Very musical indeed! I even heard some vibrato in there
  17. Soooo tempting to get an Amazon. I've promised myself that I'm not going to go looking, so it will have to be one that falls in my lap (or lands on my shoulder
  18. Greywinds, Dan or Jay, is this the one you use? Volkman Avian Science Super Hookbill NO Sunflower Seeds 4 lb "Great Amazon Food" Read more: http://www.windycityparrot.com/Volkman-Bird-Seed_bymfg_91-0-1.html#ixzz2O7x44wNV I don't see anything else on Windy City that says "no sunflower."
  19. I've never heard Timber use a gender expression either. That doesn't mean he never will!
  20. Great pics! I especially like the last one with Slater's wings spread. thanks for sharing
  21. I trim Timbers periodically so he doesn't get tangled up. He seems to be trying to pull as long of a string out as he can. I find strings all over the bottom of his cage.
  22. I don't notice that so much in the voice, but usually in the laugh. It sounds like an evil cackle. My kids say it is the "lech laugh."
  23. Enjoyed the video! I know what you mean Jeff. Timber often speaks in a tone that I would describe as "whiny." Unfortunately, I think that is his version of me! A lowering thought...
  24. Timber loves to pick his to pieces. I have to replace it every four months or so. It seems to be a lot of entertainment for him though!
