  1. That's a good attitude to have. Even when greys aren't wild caught, they are slow to trust.
  2. LOL I can identify with that. When my children were young, I'd go to work sick because I got more rest there!
  3. I see them! Sorry I missed them the first time through. He looks like a sweetheart
  4. Good progress! It's possible that he just wasn't hungry so he didn't eat the sunflower seed. Timber will drop stuff then go foraging for it later when he wants it. Or, he could just still be scared. It takes a lot of time to develop trust
  5. Argh! Quit posting these videos. I DO NOT need another bird!!
  6. Good going on the pellet switch! Wish I were so lucky..
  7. Hello and welcome John and Charlie Looking forward to the pics!
  8. Hello and welcome to you and Escher
  9. Great pics, thanks for sharing Timber prefers common household stuff as well. It always reminds me of my kids when they were little. Give them a pan and a wooden spoon and they ignore the $100 toy to play with that!
  10. On the whole, I'd prefer pffft! to dumbass as well. I'm still "Jamie."
  11. Haaaaaa Ray! No clue here. I'm not sure they make a parrot proof watch!
  12. Hello and welcome to you and Nika!
  13. I looked at several of the "non-stick" types available and read a lot of info and reviews online. I just couldn't be sure that they were totally safe. On the plus side, I'm starting to like the stainless steel. It seems to heat more evenly. I also read a review that said to prevent sticking make sure your stainless steel is up to temp before adding food and that seems to help. As you said, it is an adjustment but I'm getting there!
  14. It will come. Glad to hear Miranda is doing so well
  15. The link didn't work. I have mixed feelings about any of the "non-stick" coatings being safe and went with straight uncoated stainless steel to be absolutely certain.
  16. I live in an area where there aren't any "certified" avian vets also. I have the option of driving 2-3 hours to get to one and would do so if necessary. However, there are several vets within closer driving distance who will treat birds. As Jay said, you need to take your bird somewhere. Call around to the vets you can get to and see if any of them are willing to treat birds. It's possible that some do, as they do here, because of the lack of avian vets. Make some calls and see what you can find out. The other suggestions are good too if that isn't the case. Get him somewhere!
  17. Loved the pics and videos. What a great looking grey! From what I've read here, Aoodi's behavior is normal. Several forum members have birds that do not get along well with other birds in the house. The jealosy thing I've seen myself. My TAG gets a little hyper when I give affection to others. He doesn't bite, but beeps and is obviously displeased. Others may have more to say about that, I'm a novice!
  18. Good deal! I'll bet you are feeling relieved. Good job
  19. Enjoyed the video! Like Dayo, Timber works at throwing the ball where he knows I have no chance of catching it. I think he thinks we are playing fetch, and I, of course, am the dog
  20. Hello and welcome to you and Luna They do love to be right in the center of things. I have indoor cats, so I have to be watchful all the time too.
  21. Yes, indeed, Timber rubs his beak on his perch, his cage, his food bowl, my arm or whatever is handy to get that offending particle of food off his beak.
  22. LOL Demando is my favorite!
  23. Hello and welcome to you and Apu How exciting to be bringing a new baby home. Make sure you post more pics, we love them
