  1. Spam is a fact of life for us all now. I get about 250 "junk" emails every day. It is a constant battle I know.
  2. Agreed. I hate having to open all the spam posts to get them off my "new posts" list.
  3. Timber talks quite a bit and I'm still trying to figure out what he's trying to say, at least some of the time! The first time you hear a word or phase it is often garbled, much like a toddler. As time goes by it gets clearer and clearer and then you can make it out. Timber still says a few things I don't get. I'd love to be able to "pick their brains" too! I think there is a lot more going on in there than even we believe, and that is saying something!
  4. Hello and welcome to you and Lily! Glad to have you and looking forward to some pics
  5. Jay, I'm sorry if I offended you. I didn't answer your question because I don't know the answer for sure. I assumed from earlier posts that Greycie was wearing a harness, and if I recall correctly, Greycie is fully flighted. That said, the incident you just recounted sounds terrible, and I feel badly for everyone involved. What a terrible thing! Of all the forum members, I've always felt you were the most concerned about our birds' health and safety. While we all make different choices and have different lifestyles, I appreciate the fact that you care enough to give your opinion and thoughts about the different subjects. No offense intended!
  6. Haaaa... they always do the unexpected don't they?
  7. LOL! My thought was that if it is any day but Tuesday or Friday she could die (a/k/a Felix)
  8. LOL I'd love to see a video of her riding with you!
  9. Excellent progress for only the second week.
  10. I'm with you, after reading a bit I decided I couldn't watch it.
  11. Hello and welcome! That is one cute baby, and I love your name choices. Good luck and God bless
  12. I saw your beautiful BFA in the Amazon thread. How about some pics of your CAG and what is his name? Glad to hear he is in good health even on a sunflower seed diet, and glad he is in a home now where he can receive proper care
  13. Great to hear from you and what good news for DJ and you! Thanks for checking in
  14. Hello and welcome! Your BFA is a beautiful bird. Thinking of those escapes makes my skin crawl. I'll bet you were frantic!
  15. I think that you will find that when you get a routine established with Lola it will be easier. They really are creatures of habit. I.e. when you get a usual bedtime established, they know when it is time and are more cooperative. That is my experience anyway. After a time, she will start letting you know if you deviate from the "routine." Make sure you always tell her verbally what is going on. Like "time for bed" etc. They easily grasp the meaning when it accompanies an action, which helps get a routine going. When I say "gotta go to work" to Timber, he now immediately heads into the cage, because he knows it is time for example.
  16. Well, something was learned from the experience then! Timber insists on staying up until rest of the house goes to bed. Fortunately, we are early birds so that isn't very late. When I go upstairs, he will still be whistling at me as long as he hears me moving around (in the bathroom). I wish he would just go to sleep already because I feel guilty when he knows I'm awake and not spending every minute with him. Ha..
  17. Good to hear from you and glad Gilbert is handling things so well.
  18. Also, Timber will eat fresh veggies (some anyway) from a skewer hanging in his cage that he will not eat from a bowl or any other way. Just an idea for you.
  19. Isn't progress great? That's how they steal your heart
  20. OK, I'll bite, WHERE"S THE VIDEO???
  21. Hello and welcome to you and Lola! Loved the pic, and enjoyed the blog
