  1. Timber has one red feather on his neck. At my first sight of him I thought it was blood. What a relief that it is just what I call his "birthmark."
  2. Yes, he is so cute! In a way I'm sorry I missed the baby stage by rehoming. On the other hand, I also missed the terrible twos! I just live vicariously through your posts and others (with babies).
  3. I have no idea but I'd love to hear a solution! Timber also bites when I move him from somewhere he wants to be back to his cage or playstand.
  4. LOL! Too funny. All you can do is hunch your back and say yessss master... Gracie seems to make a lot of those connections as well. Timber uses words appropriately, but I haven't heard him mix it up to fit a situation (yet).
  5. Timber has the same reaction to sticks/perches held by me or anyone else.
  6. Go Gilbert! Funny about the phone. Timber doesn't talk a lot when I am in the room, but almost every time I am on the phone when he is in the room, he starts yelling "Okay bye!" until I hang up.
  7. Half the battle is trying to read their body language and figure out what is making them act like they do. I'm not always successful, but more than I used to be. I always tried to remember everything that happened prior to a bite. Sometimes you can find a "trigger." Sometimes not though!
  8. Hello and welcome (again) I think I responded to another thread. That said, they are certainly in a class of their own! Good luck and God bless
  9. Absolutely. We need to start a group. PA (Parronts Anonymous)
  10. LOL! I was just thinking he may think his name is "uh oh." Timber could certainly think that!
  11. Yes indeed! Kantana600 was posting at the same time as I was this time. I didn't see it until now. You should read her thread about Gilbert. There is a lot of insight in that.
  12. Still waiting on that video of Gracie singing "Jesus Loves Me" Jeff...
  13. Hello and welcome to you and Harry! I'm inexperienced myself so don't have anything to say except it takes a lot of time and patience with a rehome. Others with more experience will come along with useful suggestions I'm sure.
  14. You are coming right along! Be thankful that he isn't attacking your arm when you stick it in the cage. Remember, though that the cage is his safe place. I don't push anything when Timber is inside the cage because I want him to feel safe there.
  15. Baby pics are always so sweet! Thanks for sharing
  16. Curious about this too. I leave mine on for eight hours. Sounds like I need to bump it up to 12
  17. Great news! I am so glad to hear this.
  18. This cage looks like the one I have for Timber. We finally got him in it this weekend I might add! He has been clinging to his old rust bucket, but we were finally successful in making the switch this weekend. Yeah! As Acappella pointed out, you have to be careful that the surrounding area isn't within "beak range" when they are out of the cage. Timber travels all over his, and is always trying to get a bite of the wall coverings, etc, that he can stretch his neck far enough to reach. I have to pull his cage away from the wall when I let him out every day, or he will make short work of my hundred-year-old oak woodwork.
  19. It is so rewarding when you finally hit on a toy/forage item they actually like! Nice going
  20. That's too bad! I really enjoyed that breeder's video I posted months ago on grey's, but it was incomplete because it skipped a bunch.
  21. Happy, happy birthday! Wishing you the most blessed year ever
  22. Hello and welcome! What is his name? We love pics. You are in for the ride of your life
  23. Hello and welcome to you and Pearl! So glad you were able to rescue Pearl. Good luck and God bless
  24. What a beautiful baby! Welcome and thanks for sharing
