Oh yuck! I sure hope it isn't a bitterly cold winter. We have had an amazingly mild summer in our neck of the woods though. Good advice to be prepared.
Hello and welcome to you and Petri! I'm looking forward to the pics. I've never had a baby, I rehomed my TAG at age 5. I also won't comment on training, since I've been the only one to receive any since I brought Timber home
I've never had more than one bird, so really don't know much about this. I do know that any change in Timber's environment or routine affects him. I would think having a new flockmate would qualify for a major change. There will probably be a shakedown period until everyone gets acclimatized!
LOL! That looks like something people in my neck of the woods would come up with. Every time I see this kind of stuff I'm thinking "man I hope the neighbors don't see that, they'll try it!"
Well, I was concerned about Timber and his/her love of boxes for that reason. However, they bring him so much pleasure that I decided to let him have at it. No eggs in 14 months!
I think I have the same stand. My base was wobbly, so I took it off and clamped the light to the wall. You can get an easier "range" of height where you need it that way. I left the swinging arm thing on so that I can adjust it for the burn in period and when he is out of cage.
Everything I've read on the forum says that there is no way to be sure of gender beyond testing dna. The vet also told me that. I'm sure more experienced people will add to this and correct me if I'm wrong on that. I'm relatively new myself!
A lot of us won't let our birds have shoulder status for that very reason Bigwick. At least until you know they are totally trust worthy in that respect. I've had Timber for over a year and still don't let him on my shoulder. Better safe than sorry in my book!
Interesting! I wonder if that was her original name which would make sense. On the other hand, she may just be telling the waiter to refill her water...
