  1. Showing as "unavailable." Hope they didn't take it down.
  2. What a cool video! Thanks for posting
  3. Best wishes for a speedy recovery! Like you, I did the one step forward, two steps back for quite awhile with my rehomed TAG. It has been about 16 months now, and I think I'm finally down to one step forward, one step back It will get better for both of you.
  4. It would be a little too much to have a trio coughing at the same time! Sorry, just struck me as funny
  5. Funny Dan! I agree 100% with you, you can learn a lot about your kids by listening to your parrot. I had a similar experience with Timber.
  6. I enjoyed reading your update. Thanks for posting
  7. Good job on the playstand They do brighten our lives don't they?
  8. That looks good also. I've only tried one mix, and it was a Harrison's mix. Timber doesn't care for it at all. I usually make my own, and truthfully he isn't that keen on it either. There's no accounting for taste!
  9. I haven't read anything about aloe leaving a residue, but I tend to follow my vet's advice.
  10. I too have a "closet talker" for the most part. Sounds like Escher is "coming out!" Good deal. I wish Timber would.
  11. Nala is looking good! Great to hear from you and glad things are going so well
  12. I'm not sure about aloe gel. Everything I've seen says to use the liquid to spray. What are you doing with the gel? I'm confused, sorry.
  13. Cool pics! Timber isn't having any on the swing either.
  14. Hello and welcome Amanda! I would think an 8 month old is still a baby. Someone with more experience will probably have more to say
  15. I try to spray Timber daily because he likes it. There is a difference between a spray and a full bath. Timber likes being sprayed, but does not open his feathers when I spray him. In other words, it isn't getting to his skin. When he is ready for a real bath, he will splash around in his water bowl. I get the pan I use for him to bathe (think 8x8 or 9x14 glass baking dish) and put some nursery water (untreated, purified, no additives) in the pan. Then he will go at it on his own, dipping his head, feathers, tail etc. throwing it over his shoulders, and gets really soaked to the skin. Others with more experience will probably give additional advice
  16. Remember how small your bird really is (weight-wise). When I rehomed Timber, I was concerned that he didn't seem to be eating much. Someone pointed out they he doesn't eat much (as in comparison to a cat for instance). Timber picks at his vegetables. He eats a bit, but not a lot. In my case, that is the best I can hope for.
  17. I hadn't thought about that with animal planet. Timber doesn't seem to pay any attention to the tv and has never picked up words or sounds from it that I can tell. I think of it as company and white noise more than anything.
  18. That is my opinion too for what it is worth (a game). Timber and hubby have a game where Gary puts his hand on the cage and Timber lunges at it. He puts his hand on another part and Timber quickly runs there and lunges at it. The point being that Timber grabs and bars and not Gary's hand when he gets there. He will continue as long as Gary is willing. When Timber wants to bite, he bites. When he wants to play he lunges and "pretends" to bite.
  19. That is exactly what I did. Purchased a bowl that attaches. It is bigger than his food bowls as well.
  20. I'm sure I've read somewhere on here they they don't cough.
  21. I leave the tv on for Timber tuned to Animal Planet while I am at work. Does he watch or care? Who knows!
  22. Yes, what a story of survival! Makes me remember the threads I've seen about emergency preparedness. We all really need to do that, be prepared for the worst because you never know when it may happen.
