hi twix,yes i always switch off the ac after i bath momo.here is very hot as well,rain dsnt come and wind also very dusty so we cant open our window too much does DJ scratch and preen often when the weather soo hot too? im starting to worried and im planning to take him to vet.he often puff and shake his fur,all his dander come off really alot. i just realized this for few days.he never been this bad before.

hello, momo is molting now,which seems quite bad because he scratch alot and preening agresively. its very hot here,no rain for a month and i have to always switch on AC 24 hours. few days i realize he start to preen to much and its quite scare me because he almost doing it all the-all the time.ive seen a lot of dust coming from him and he shake his fur frequently.he sneezing often too. i try to give him simple misting but complete shower seems help him more.he can sleep and relax everytime i make him wet 100%. my question is,is it okay to shower him everyday?some people said dont,some people said yes,some people said once a week etc.the vet said shower him today and dont shower him another day,the next day shower him again.but i see him frustated by dry skin if i skip the everyday shower.please i really wait for the reply.

for wingy: it dsnt work for me,i eat in front of him always.he does seems interest with the food but as soon i offer him he get really scared.i think he think i will poison him with the food. i try everything,bake,smash,cake,cut,shred,fresh,dry,.none of this interest him.is it something serious maybe?should i get him kids vitamin to increase his interest in food? for nancy:yes nancy,i try to be consistent and he almost have a same schedule everyday.momo loves his routine and if im late to wake up he will say ''hello hello,out out out'' he seems better to step up now,start to put one of his foot on my finger when he around his cage.well hope he will 'soon' step up easily.

hi guys thanks for the reply, for chezron:momo is just 14 months now,his eyes start to change to yellow.i had him 3 months already.he dsnt interest in treats at all,this is where my problem start. i try everything,all kind of nuts,dry fruit,sun flower seeds,fresh fruits,he just too picky.any idea?? yes i will trimmed his nail soon because it makes me bleeding everytime i handle him. for wingy: i tried to show him the gym and he seems scared of it.when i step up him more far than 2 mtr away from his cage,he will get so panic.is this normal?thanks again.

hi penny, yes is true they have lot of dust. but i dont know somehow my CAG dust is like human dandurf but my tiel dust mostly like a waxy dander. if u get one and u bring him to sunbathing u will see a 'lot' of dust coming out from them while preening. i do shower him everyday and seems he likes it.he will stand on his perch nicely and close his eyes to enjoy the water come to him but i dont think only with 1 small tiel u will have much problem.

hi nancy,thanks for the reply. as much as he far from the cage he will step up very well.feels like i should hide the cage unfortunetly im the only one work with him,because he scared to death to my husband and my husband never try to push him as well. well i need him to feel more safe when he is away from his cage.i bought him park tree and a huge parrot gym so he need to used to be somewhere else,not only on top of his cage any idea nancy? thanks!!

hi guys,its being 5 days i teach step up command to momo.all i can say he get the point and everything is going fine. day 1-he runaway,avoid my finger. day 2-he runaway,but start to look at my finger.i press his belly softly but no reaction. day3-still runaway but he put one of his foot on my finger and leave. day4-he walk away but if i show my hand in front of him,he will step up and jump. day5-he step up for 2-3 sec and jump. i dont know if he make a great progress or not but im proud of him since he only bite me 2 times:o but i have a several question and please reply me,lol. 1)his claws is very sharp.i cant even tolerate him stand more than 3 sec cuz it cause me bleed. is it okay if i clip them?i heard claws make them stand more stable and im scared he will fall down from my hand and scared to step up to me. 2)when he step up,all what his trying to do is climb to my shoulder.i cant trust him yet to allow him on my shoulder.is it any idea to make him more focus on training and not try to climb?? 3)i know this sound weird but whats the sign if the bird ready to step up around their cage? momo will step up but if far away from his cage.if i try around his cage,he will try to bite me.is it normal? 4)this last question is for my tiel.he step up very well and hand tamed.but why he never 'stay' on our hand?he always try to climb or jump away.is it any way to train bird sit nicely on our hand or shoulder? thanks guys,i really wait and appreciate all your help!!

hi nancy, sophie is very cute,hope momo will be better day and day.i guess i need to clip his claws because its the most painful part.my hand always bleeding everytime he step up. thanks nancy,i will try maybe he also interest in games???

hi nancy,unfortunatly this is the best method for momo.i tried clicker as well and target training.he is very lazy and never show any interest to go follow the stick. today i try to step up him again,he does better.he dsnt bite me that hard,only a little nip.i guess he just nervous.i will see more days and see what happen. mmm is it any other way to make bird step up?thanks nancy!

today is the first day i teach momo step up command and OUCHHHH..he bite me!!not bleeding but it pain!i keep insist to offer my finger and after 5 times he stop biting.he does step to my finger for 1 second and fastly runaway.mmm start from today i ''officially'' join this club! lets see what kind of bite i will get tomorrow!

i think its not gonna be much trouble if u bring his health sertificated and vet last check up papper that show he dsnt have any serious sickness also. good luck!

thanks everybody, i will keep misting him and give him better diet some article said we should scratch their pin feathers cuz its itchy and they like it but some said its feel pain if we touch it. i dont know which one is true but i leave the pin feather alone since he seems pain and shock if i touch it. is it okay too much to shower him 3 days once?i keep misting him everyday but just want to make sure how frequent i should shower him in this moulting season. thanksss

yes judy,i keep give him and talk to him first before the tiel.but the tiel is ready to be really close to us like sitting with us and play around us. i hope momo can tolerate this until he can master the step up.when he step very well everything is gonna be fine. he grew many pin feather which disturb him alot and he keep rejecting to interact with me too much so i dont start the step up training yet. is it good idea to train him in this situation??

aha!yes i think i understand now.i wasnt succesed last time because my file was too high KB.it was 209 kb.the profile picture said the file that im attached too big. am i correct dave?

hi everybody, im quite worried about momo,since the new tiel come i feel he start to take fur.i dont know its molting or taking but i keep see him playing with the feather.its 3 big feathers fall down this week is this normal? he does show jealousy and upset everytime i interact with the new bird but i just cant belive if this can be reason for feather plucking. it is my own fault,the tiel is really tame and we can let it out more and put him on our hand and our shoulder.momo sees it and i can feel somehow he is upset because he make a sad sound.momo dsnt step up yet so we cant let him out more than 10 hours per day(he will not come back and i need to towel him) and of course he cant hanging out around my hand and shoulder.im still in progress to train him to step up. guys...what i have to do?? and i found some black needles fur around his neck and head.he seems being disturb if i touch this 'black needle'.can anyone tell me what is it and should it be preen?? thanks everybody,reply me im very worried!!

hi dave,photobucket is not allowed to be open in my country.i just cant access it.when i want to put a picture,there is 2 option right? from online storage or browse from our own folder.but the size is supposed to be small.is it possible if i compress the file and put it?i hope you understand what i mean,my english is baddd

hi saskabush i understand your feeling we have a Too that feather chewer and plucker as well,now she is better but she dsnt stop 100%.sometimes she chewed her feather too far and bleed.and same as yours,it because my dad went to vacation too long and she just cant take it.she love everybody in the house,but she just missed my dad. mmm how do u react when he is doing it? the baddest thing u can do is giving attention and show that you are ''worried'' too much.they understand that u worried when they chew their feathers so they will keep doing it(its a plus for them because they get attention and more love). when she do it,we always leave her alone and we stop interact with her at all.after awhile,she get the point.i dont live my parents anymore,but last time i saw her she was better and better. i dont say she will stop one day but at least we can control the amount of feather that she chewed. i hope your bird will get better soon,i know how it hurts so much to see they destroying themself.i would not even show my face is sad when i clean up her feather.remember when u see he doing it,fastly leave the room.when u see him stop come again and give 200% of attention.hope this help.

yes i do get alot of scary bite from my dad's Too everyday and most of it bleed.since now,momo never bite me that hard only a bit nip that makes my skin red. thanks alot dave,i've been so much reseach about this step up method and finally i get the answer. wish me luck!!thanksssss
