Momo

hi hi, today is the baddest day ever he scream from morning till now at 7pm and im writing this post beside him and i use earplugs!i put him inside cage and cover him,he gets more crazy and try to tear off his cover.after 2 hours he stop and i take him out....in 2 minutes he scream again! i tried to praise him when he make a nice sound but exactly when he get my attention BOOM!he scream again. he sleep at 10 pm and wakes up around 11 am.is it possible he sleep to much and become hyper? we planning to take him to vet tomorrow just to check up if there is something wrong with him.what i realize today he is in heavy molt,i found a LOT of small feathers under his cage.i dont know if this disturb him and make him uncomfortable. any idea what kind of test and question i need to ask the vet tomorrow?

thanks kitty,i avoid them as much as i can now but they keep ring my door and i need to watch out if i go out from home because they will catch me when im coming back. yesterday the girl is in security place again and keep ring my door hope if im home and i will open it for her.i know its bad but i dont have much option since last time she broke my husband table and laptop set so he dsnt allow her to visit me. this is really insane since i cant even relax living in the apartment that i pay high per month!

thank you for all the great idea and advice, today he scream for 5 hours and i ignore him.finally he give up and stop.i hope he will understand screaming its not good and i dont like it.its quite difficult for me since i still can hear his voice even i use the earplug(my flat is small and i can hear his screaming very well). now my husband always use earplug all the day long because he wants to rest and momo is too noisy. at least today he make improvement to scream only 5 hours. i will try my best to make him used to be alone sometimes.he got everything,toys/attention/out all the time/outdoor schedule i dont know if i still miss some stuff that he need. i will also try to change their cage position and see if that works. thanks again guys,any idea are welcome please!

hi danmcq, thanks for the advice.he screams mostly when he is out and i need to put him inside cage and cover him.now he start to hate his cage and really scared to being put inside.thats why i stop covering method.belive it or not he dsnt scared of being cover and still continue his scream inside cover.i need to wait for several hours(usually after 3 hours he give up!) after he stop and uncover him.and fastly any minute he starts again!im scared this is not good for his mental cuz it takes so long so i dont do it anymore. i never feed him extra energy food or any sugar food but i dont know why he become like this.my husband is so upset and he cant take any rest so he said to me he will rehome him if this dsnt stop.i know this is my husband fault and we trying the best we can to reduce his screaming.for like 3 hours per day we can tolerate it but from 10am-1 pm and 3pm-8pm this start to driving us crazy. is it any other way to reduce this?im not expecting him to stop but at least 3-4 hours per day will be okay. hi luvparrots,i will try to sing(im not a good singer) or put calm music and see if this works.he dsnt enjoy petting too much and he just want to sit very close to me.i act the same way from beginning i got him until now but since our new tiel come,he become so much jealous and noisy.i also respect his position as top bird,i dot know what i did wrong but i hope this can be better soon. thanks again!

hellooo sorry i post too soon again but i really need hep! momo is very loud and he is getting louder and louder.he learn my tiel scream and he did this really loud non-stop.everytime my tiel makes sound my husband always in hurry to look after his tiel and momo expect me to do this as well to him.i always told my husband dont do that but it was too late-momo already learn this too far my neighbor keep big dog and its getting more worse since momo copy the dog's bark too. i tried to ignore this and leave the room but he get more crazy and he dsnt stop for 4 hours calling me.when i get near to our tiel he scream and when i come to him our tiel scream too.i got headache this 3 days and i cant handle this noise anymore.i know momo just want to be near me but i also have many things to do like cleaning or cooking.now if i move to room i must to move him too and when i sit on sofa i must to bring his cage(and himself) sit next to me---just to make him little quite.i know this is bad because i must to teach him more indepedent and he dsnt need me 24 hours for having fun.i cant even leave my house because my neighbor said he scream all the day long looking for me. any idea please help!!!!!

mmm last year we've been attacked by termites in our place and i need to poison all of our room.we had 2 parakeets at that time so we cant use chemical poison.i found liquid acid powder from chinesse or indian(?) pharmacy herbal shop and it works well.u should try to research herbal pharmacy(they have cockroach,mites,termites,alates,even for mouse killer!and they are natural) around your place.i empty my house for 2 weeks and rewash all the area after poisoning.our birds are okay and they dont show any sign of sickness. good luck,i hope you can get rid of them soon.

i would like to move too,but its very expensive and i will get penalty for ending the contract before the time its supposed to be.a year ago,i wasnt in this neighbor hood,and it wasnt nice also. i had a neighbor that dsnt allow us to listen to music or watching movie after 10 pm.they complained to us because we had visitor and we are laughing.they ringed my door and said:''can u stop watching movie and let people to visit after dark? and can tell your guest to not laugh??'' i was thinking like oh my god,i pay the rent and i cant watch movie in my own home??i cant even have visitor too!! and then i move to this apartment and........it getting more worse. i cant do anything to the mental problem guy,the manager sued him once and the court dsnt eccept it because he was in mental hospital and there is no way to jail him since he dsnt have 'healthy brain'.last time he found out we complain and he slapped our security face till bleed. my husband finally order a new window that cant be slide at least one problem solve.sometimes i feel bad,i dont allow the girl to come and they put the girl in the security place for many hours.i hope im not really a bad person but i really dont like what she did to my bird.what all of you gonna do if there is stranger come to your house,cook in your kitchen,bang your bird's cage,hit your bird with stick and throw cold water to your bird?? i would be difficult for momo in quarantine place and they said for visiting its fine.i dont know,i hope there is a miracle come and i can bring him with me. i alos need to find info if he can survive because of changing weather.here is dry weather and my country is extremely humid. ohhh thanks everybody i feel better now after i shared my problem. i dont know if this help or not but in my country people mix soap with water and put inside sprayer if they dont want to use chemical stuff.when u see the roach spray it on top of their body/head.soap have something that can block their respiration system and they die faster.i killed them with soap water until now and i found it more effective than chemical ones. lavender,soap bar, lemon,bay leaf/cucumber is good stuff for emergency now until you find better way to kick them out.just simple cut lemon/soap/bay leaf/cucumber and put them around the place they like to come.this should help if they are not really a lot yet. u can spray the area with garlic juice.blender garlic and water 1:5.spray it to the are they like to come.they will hate to come around. be sure u check if any holes around your house and u have to close it. good luck!

three years passed already im so far away from my home.these days i feel more and more uncomfortable.sorry for long post but i dont have anybody here,so just want to share my feeling with somebody. im living with freaky neighbor too.my flat is on ground floor and there is 2 neighbor flat and 1 security room. *the neighbor in front of me : really like to talk a lot and hunt my husband for chit-chat.he is 65 years old,single,had been in mental hospital for 3 years,using drugs and likes to gossip in security place until 2am in the morning because he dsnt have anything to do.the manager cant do anything because last time he was ''high&error" and come out with knife to kill the manager just because there are kids playing in the garden and he cant sleep.he always ask to visit us and we always have to find reason to reject him.so,everyday we been hunt by him.any idea? *the neighbor next to me: normal family,have 1 girl around 8 years old.they dont have anybody in this city too so they like to put their little girl in my home.i cant say NO because they know im always home and i fell bad to reject them.the girl is very rude,open my wardrobe and warehouse everytime she come.thats why i dont like her to come.she open my kitchen stuff and cook in my kitchen(without permission) and they put her from 1pm-1am in morning again.im tired,i have husband and im busy.she likes to disturb momo with stick,bang his cage and tortured him with water.i feel so bad,now i always runaway from them and they keep hunting me.last time i dont answer them and the girl bang my window and open it from outside--the wild cat come in and momo was very terible scared.i cant forgive her for this one.am i a bad person?? *security place always noisy,from 8am-3am again in morning.they shout,fight,gossip and all the noise come to my home.they put a loud music non-stop and the music wasnt nice at all.cigaret 24 hours non-stop and the smell come to my house too.again,i cant do anything because i feel bad to complain. i really want to come back home soon,thanks God my husband eccept it and we planning to move sooner.but....how about momo?i cant trust somebody here to give my parrot away.i need 2500 usd to pass him to airport and 2000 usd to pay his tax.after research i find out he needs to be quarantine for at least 1.5 months(maybe more) and they will put him in the same room with other animal.i keep thinking about it over and over again and this make me stress.sometimes i can feel my heart is pain and i cant breath.any advise are welcome please.. thanks for let me share with you guys.God bless u all!

heloooo thanks everybody for the support!! today my banana+carrot mash is success!!i mix it with his seed and he cant seperated them with each other so he ate them all!! need to experience more and defeat his stuborn trait! wow all the people here so helpful,what can i do without all of you???!many thanks!

hi kimkim,thanks for bring this topic! same here momo always bark and scream like crazy.its getting worse and worse now.from 10am-12pm and 2pm-6pm he scream scream scream.i dont find the reason yet since he always get 100 % attention and new toys all the time.food and water always avaible.i know he just a bird and its normal if they make noise but..my husband always mad.he said he will find a new home for him if he keep screaming all the day.my husband work at night so he will expect a normal noise in day because he wants to rest and now days momo dsnt let him. i dont want momo to go but in other hand his screaming always make problem between me and my husband.

hi wingy,yes im looking for complete intruction how to sprouting.i already prepare the jar and sterelize it so i just need to find the seeds. i know this is a weird question,but i never done sprouting at all in my life.is it as simple just put his eating seed in the jar and follow the instruction?it dsnt need a special seed?i ahave alot of his eating seed in home so if its really possible to grow that seed i will start from tomorrow. ah another question,can we sprout dry bean also??

hi everybody, i dont know if this is correct what im doing or not.i tried to limit his seed and change it to cooked stuff. for breakfast,i boil a lot of beans and cut little bit fruit.he is very picky and he dsnt eat the beans but finally around 1 pm he ate them all.around 4 pm i give him fresh veggies and little bit of seed.and for night i give him cooked stuff again with 2 spoon of his seed. im just scared because i have to starve him and this is the only way to reduce his seed.and is it not dangerous to give parrot 75% cooked food without pellet diet? im still waiting for friend come from dubai to here but she still not sure when she can come.it would be next month or another months.

i also agree with other member,there is no wrong to choose the baby that you want.they can live more 50 years so actually its wise to choose the ''favorite'' one. before i got momo,i was being offer to younger grey and i visit her 3 times but she dsnt like me at all and i heard momo making noise,come near to me.when i was there,he dsnt even stop look at me what im doing and listen what im saying to him.at that time,i realize momo found me and i took him home. now i have a good bond with him and i know i made a right choice that time.

i will look exactly how to sprout and what kind of seed i need to find. im trying to hide the seed in the morning and offer my cooked food.he starve him self until 2 pm afternoon but after that he eat them all. i dont know if this is correct or not to starve him but i really need to do this. the antibiotic makes him hyper i dont know somehow,he dsnt stop playing for 10 hours and very very noisy. the funny thing he can read my mind what food is tasty.example,i eat apple in front of him.even i dance and make yummy sound till death he will take a reallyyyy small bite.thats it. BUT if i eat chips/candy/jelly and i dont make any sound he will jump around ask to give him small pieces. thank you everybody for the help,i guess you will see alot of new question from me in bird food room.wish me luck!!!

hi guys, nothing really wrong with him,only his diet is quite bad and he got some skin problem.he is in antibiotic treatment for 2 weeks and i will need to come back again when the medicine is finish. i told the vet his diet is 60% seed and i cant find any pellet.i also ask him if he can bring me pellet from other country because he has license so i would be easier for him rather than shop. now i will start to make the homemade recipe food that greywings recommend me,at least thats what i can do now. he is very picky,i dont know if there is any luck if he wants to try the new recipe food. im cooking 1 of the recipe now,wish me luck!!

hi everybody,thanks for asking no he dsnt bleed,at beginning his beak just seems cracked and the next morning i saw the tip of his beak is gone and its quite big but there is no blood. he just get nutrition issue.need to fix all his diet and im trying to contact my friend to send me pellet from dubai. thanks again!

thanks guys for all of your help.(my eyes tearing when i read all people in this forum tried to help me) first of all,when i contact many distributor from arabic/european country(from american country is quite impossible to ship me stuff) they said ''yeah we can do it,why not just give us complete address and we can ship it''.but after 2-3 days they will said 'oh we are very sorry,we didint realize its so many terms to ship stuff to iran and even if its possible we cant give any guaranty they will let this stuff arrive to your home.we will inform you as soon as possible if there is any news'.(which none of them call me back to say yeah its possible) from arabic country its easier and they have so many good stuff but when the stuff arrived to iran,this country have so many rules and terms till they make me CAN NOT get the stuff that i pay for. the only thing i can do is one day i have to travel to dubai and buy good stuff there.(i will do this when i have enough money ) ah ya wingy,the website that you give me,its the best bird store here and thats the bird store that i asked if they have pellets.mmm they say nobody ever ask something like that. thank you very much guys!!im going back to vet now.
