Our poor furniture is layered in blankets yet they still manage to find the fabric under them! Lol The pillows, forget trying to protect them, i gave up. When we have company it takes about an hour to make our house people friendly again! I spent all day Monday cleaning, Tuesday i was videoing the fids and when i went back to watch it, you couldn't even tell i had cleaned! Paper shredded everywhere, poopies, toys and boxes all over.

Had to call the vet yesterday. Since Bubba got back from the vet, off and on he has had this sickening sweet smell coming from his breath. We remembered reading that it wasn't a good sign, food stuck in crop or something like that. Vet said not to worry, they had given him harrison pellets and that tends to happen with that brand food. If his poop starts smelling, then we need to get him in. His poop always smells so how would i know the diff?? Pat got his first bad Bubba bite last night. He didn't handle it well but didn't sling him which is a gut reaction when your thumb is being crushed! All is good though, Bubba just didn't want to stop playing with Oliver right then. They have this new game they play, i call it, "how many holes can we put in the couch before they catch on" game. Lol

Heartbreaking. A family who was babysitting "Rocky" while his parront is defending our country, reported him stolen yesterday. They are offering a reward for his safe return. This is just sad, they keep showing it on the news, but i would love to meet the person who took him in a dark alley. Heartless idiot.

Dear Santa, Hi, how are you? I am fine. For Christmas i just want paper, rolls and rolls of it. And peanut butter for my brothers and sister (maybe with that i can get some peace and quiet) but just in case maybe you could bring me some birdie ear plugs?? Gabby said she wanted some puzzle games and Bubba wanted a blanket and Oliver asked for a box and Gus needs a new drawer toy ( seems he stood on his and snapped the holder ) If you could see your way to get this stuff for us, i promise to make you something real special with the paper! Warm wishes, Bongo

Bongo here, you got a good mom. Stays calm under pressure and thinks of all you guys first. My mom would be running in circles, i know i have seen her do it! We don't have that thing called a fire, daddy says it is good in the main part of the house but makes our rooms to chilly for us. Plus, Gus and Gabby would probably try to get in with it, they are silly that way! I am soooo glad your all ok!

Found out Gus does not like Pat wearing black long sleeves. Freaks him out and he takes off flying. Lol Last night he stayed out with me while the others went to their cages for dinner. He kept taking my food off my fork and throwing it. Then he got my napkin and started cleaning my face with it. Pat had the camera/video but was watching and laughing and forgot to hit record, gesh!

We woke up to snow, light dusting, yesterday. I rescheduled Oliivers appt since he is naked and i didn't want to shock his little body. So, we are shooting for next Monday now. I noticed last night that when he was playing with Bubba he kept trying to spread and raise his wings. Bubba does that to us to try and show us how mean he is, lol, Oliver was just trying to copy him and was having fun with it!

Welcome to a wonderful place to learn and share stories! Congrats to both you and Charlie!

That was so cute! Thanks for posting! ( I will not be sharing that one like the Thanksgiving one! I can't chance someone offering me another, i found out my hubby and I can't say no! And we are out of room now! )

Gus is non stop activity! He took his first shower with me yesterday. I was expecting some flight when i put him on the perch but he did really good. He is okay with spraying but showers for us are easier so i was happy he didn't object to it. It was just an introduction, i didn't get him wet this time. He still likes to hang out on my chest but when he feels like it he gets on my shoulder, i try to discourage him from that but he is hard headed! Oh, he also let me put a harness on him so we could go for walks outside. Yeah! When i first brought it out Pat was like, "yeah, you go ahead and try and put it on him!" No problem! I had to even put it on and take it off several times. My only question is, does the leash part go on his chest or back? Picture shows it on their back, but it makes more sense to me that it should be on the chest. If he should fly and the leash is connected to his back won't it hurt him? Is it even reversable? Lol

We have figured out that the only way we will ever have a hot dinner again is to go out for it, and with all the mouths we have to feed, who can afford it! Lol I actually am feeling like a bad mommy right now, i ran out of needles for my doggies insulin shot. :'( . This morning i gave it to her but in the dark and think i missed her butt but in case i didn't i did not want to give her another one and then tonight i find no needles left. Yikes

Hands down the funniest thing ever so far from our boys. Pat and i laughed so hard at Oliver and Bubba last night there was no sound coming from either of us, just tears rolling from our eyes. Lets see if i can describe what happened...Oliver and Bubba were playing on the back of the couch. The couch that Gabby has claimed as her own. The boys were cooing and grooming each other when Gabby spotted them on her turf. She flew over to the couch, nearest to Bubba. Bubba just looked at her, not a care in the world. Oliver then decided to take matters into his own hands, he crouched down low and started to go toward her but alas, Bubba was in the way. No worries he thought, i will just squeeze right past him. Off he went, he really did try to get past him but Bubba started to slip down toward the seat of the couch in slow motion. Oliver stopped and watched and was so in a trance watching Bubba slide down he started to slip also. Bubba landed on his back, tail under himself, Oliver on top of him. Oliver managed to get off of him but Bubba was stuck, feet and wings slowly moving around so he could roll over. Gabby of course, who started all this, is contently sitting on Pats shoulder now watching these two with a look of pure power as if she was saying, "See boys, don't mess with my stuff"! Even if i had my camera with me, i was laughing too hard to have even tried to capture this. That was hours of laughing for us, just the shocked looked on Bubbas face as he went sliding down the back of the couch, then the matching look on Ollies face when he realized he was sliding down too! Its the next day and as i am writing this i am still laughing.

He did an awsome job! And it looks like it will be very much enjoyed!

Now that Bubba is all squared away it is Olivers turn. He goes in Monday. Since we rehomed him and his positive test for pdd, he has gained over 100 grams, slow and steady. They say now that he is just a carrier of it so all is well. We are kindred hearts, i carry the tb virus he carries the pdd, lol. The vet has not seen him in 6 months so i can not wait to see his reaction to the changes in him!

That is a priceless picture! Only fellow grey owners would understand that trying to get that cookie away would result in blood donation!

Happy Hatchday! Hope you got special treats!

Woo-hoo! Bubba has been released from the doctor! Clean bill of health. Got his toes and beak done so he wouldn't have to go back for a while! I think i got photobucket kinda figured out too. Here is Pat and Bubba playing before dinner! http://s1296.beta.photobucket.com/user/murfchck/media/VIDEO0056_zps8424384b.mp4.html

Well the video on photobucket last long enough for me to send it to the woman who gave us Gus, went back to get the link to post it here and now there is an error video not found message! Fustrating! Gus is mumbling up a storm today, it is in perfect timing with an actual conversation too. He has said hello and hi and the lady we got him from after seeing the pictures said he has a cuddle song she use to sing to him, its in spanish. My spanish is limited so if the title isn't " Si, Taco " we are in trouble! He started his display and hiss today too, that was something! Lol Pat was coming in and out of the house today making Gus very mad. He also had a meltdown today, i really thought he was going to hyperventilate, lasted quite a few minutes. He couldn't see me and freaked out. He also started banging his beak on me again so i tried the distraction. All that did was get me beat with the toy i gave him, lol. Next time i am going to try something softer, cottonballs maybe, hahaha.
-
The time i have been putting off, gotta take Bubba in for his recheck. I dread having to get him in the carrier. I know i should show no fear but... Ouchie, i know its going to happen. He nips me just taking him to his stand, distraction does help but still. Lol I gotta be strong!

Our birds are all seperated so to speak, lol. We have the big boy room for the macaws and now a room we have dubbed our "Too, grey room". Oliver has breathing issues as it is so we keep him as safe as we can. Last night was a total blast with our flock, if that was a sign of our future then i know we will die laughing. Gus wouldn't come out of his room when i came home, he wanted to play in there so i took everyone to their stands but him and let him have at it. As all our birds do, he went right to Bongos cage and to the top. I had shut all the cage doors so he couldn't mess with anything. Being the smartie pants he is, he opened all the food doors and dumped eveything to fit in. Got him to the living room to his stand and all was fine till Pat approached him, he took off flying and did two circles around the living room and crash landed on Bongo and Gabbys stan. Gabby flew and Bongo just looked as if to say "what the...". He took off again, few more times around the rooms and crashed on the floor so we let him wander around. I went to pick him up and he went right up my arm to my shoulder, as i said i am not a bird on the shoulder person so i turned into a stiff dork. But i just started singing and thats when it happened. He just broke loose and looked like he was on Dancing With The Stars! Pat got it on video, i am waiting for it to upload to photobucket to share it with ya'll. It is funny in its own right but at the end when we said the song was over he just stopped and in the back ground at that moment Bubba dropped the "f" bomb. We never even heard that until we watched the video back. It was like he was mad we stopped singing and dancing.
-
Ah, did not know that about the beak banging. I thought he was just playing because he does that with anything he puts in his mouth. Beside the fact that it gets painful after a while i will start distracting him from that. I had our first scream session with ALL the big boys yesterday at the same time when i got home from work. Goodness, i was waiting for a window to break! Lol Bubba has already been doing the Too yell. It is okay though bc it isn't as loud as his macaw scream! I also heard Bubba telling Gus to shut up as i was unlocking the door coming in. He was starting his build up to the scream and i guess Bubba didn't want to hear it.

Lol, i have been trying on and off for weeks myself with photo bucket. I am starting to think it is because i use a tablet not a full computer, my links to pictures and videos that i try to copy are like 3 lines long! Your not alone!
