  1. He is but quite cage aggressive. Not use to that and love to kiss yhose toes. Almost lost my nose this morning. To tired for memory to kick in and remind me. Lol he also won't step up now, well not onto an arm. Give him a knee and on it in a second, arm no way now! Not sure what changed.
  2. Yeah, be careful. I am lucky that i am the chosen one, Pat not so much. Chacho looks for any chance to kill him. Not attack, kill. He can not come out of his cage when Pat is home and even if i am just taking him outside, if Pat can be seen, it is me taking the kill bites he wants to give Pat.
  3. We have another Chacho on our hands, but this one is in a small package lol. Vincent is a 22 year old goffin and not a Pat fan. Pat lost some flesh trying to make friends with him but by last night Vincent did step up onto Pats arm from my arm. That is a great sign! He was a mess and we couldn't figure out what was all over him, his feathers were a dark gray. Almost like someone read the newspaper, got ink all over their hands and continued to pet him. It doesn't show up very well in the pictures but here he is after a little bath I gave him a few weeks ago when I went to help his babysitter with him, and by little bath I mean I did not know they would spray him when he screamed to get him quiet so instead of helping him I scared him. https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-n-48y9gHK8M/VUQUabmm1PI/AAAAAAAACCc/pmPV4LFRpBc/w326-h579-no/20150501_170948.jpg Yesterday though, while he was outside I brought out my spray bottle that mists, not sprays, 2 full bottles later and a sore finger on me I had to stop. He loved it and even tried to take his own bath in the water bowl. The black stuff is still on his head and neck but the tail cleaned up a lot. We have come to the conclusion it was candle residue, you can smell it on him still but when he was wet it was pretty strong. Good news is he had a wheeze that after a day of fresh air and a good soaking has all but cleared up. He was on just seed from Walmart. He has taken quickly to fresh foods and pellets. Well what he actually eats I am not sure, most of it he tucks under his wings after rolling it down his back. Mary Ann does that to, weird but cute to watch. It is called something but I can not think of it right now. He does have a bald chest, shocking that one of our flock has bald spots I know but we will adjust to it, lol hahaha! He is a shoulder rider to and a very good one. He helped me with dinner last night, inspecting my every move. Pat took pictures but they are on his phone so it will take a few days for me to get them. Bongo is not happy about this at all and neither is Chacho because I am theirs and sharing is not something they do to well. Chacho even nipped at me and refused to look at me. I took him outside for some one on one time. He should get how much I love him after that. I was getting attacked by mosquitos and never moved to smash them since he was on me. I came in with no less than 15 bites. He was happy again and that was what mattered! Bongo also got over it.
  4. No, thank heavens! I am safe for now. lol Unless they are just waiting to catch me off guard. Ixta amazes me how quickly she picks up and can do pitch perfect mimics. We picked up Vincent Friday and got back home by about 6pm, Saturday he was outside with the macaws, the greys stayed in. Last night I put everyone up for dinner and heard Vincent doing his little meeping scream in the living room. I was shocked he managed to get out of his cage and beat me back into the main room. I went in to see what part of his cage I needed to re-secure and he was in his cage eating. It was Ixta making his noise. lol

    How many???

Really? I don't have enough fingers and toes to count that high! Lol 4 cag 3 umbrella cockatoos 1 yellow nape amazon 1 military macaw 1 scarlet macaw 5 blue and gold macaws 1 goffin cockatoo Coming soon is: 1 blue and gold macaw 1 hawk head 1 red front macaw. Oh, i still have a toe left to count with!
  6. Not to leave out all the strong candles, the chemical carpet cleaners with deodorizing crap in it for the 6 untrained dogs and oh yeah, the salmonella carrying lizard. We all know my plate is full, but this is why sweet little Vincent is moving in. My neighbor who took the other lizard is also taking this one. I got the confirmation that she is ready to surrender so at 4 tomorrow, Vincent and Fred will both have new homes.
  7. Bells, each grey in my house has red marks on their face from the attempted murder of the bell! Adding paper, phone books and straws. Boings go without saying, it is a staple. Clangor bangers are great too. This is a stainless bowl with spoons around it and a bell in the middle, makes lots of noise.
  8. We will be picking him up Friday. He will be in for a shock, his cage was full of pretzels and he ate nothing but seed. Never been outside in over 2 years, don't know about prior. Fingers crossed she doesn't change her mind though, this little boy needs a change sooner than later.
  9. Since Pat fell in love with Banda and Banda has now moved, maybe Vincent can fill that void for him, lol. My hope beyond hope is that he and Lily strike up a friendship. Lily is okay with the other birds, just not birds of her own kind. Here is Vincent after I tried to give him a spray bath, he was so dirty. Too bad I did not know that he was sprayed when he screamed, did not go over very well with him. https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-9qrVH9r-JQ0/VUQUc_ZVeEI/AAAAAAAACCo/uxwEO7McGn0/w326-h579-no/20150501_172711.jpg Here he is when I first opened the cage door, it didn't take long at all. I had to clean out his cage, the bottom was lined with pet bedding and was nasty. https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-n-48y9gHK8M/VUQUabmm1PI/AAAAAAAACCc/pmPV4LFRpBc/w326-h579-no/20150501_170948.jpg
  10. Wow, I just read the title "9 and Counting". Didn't take long to get into the double digits. So we are now at 15 and know that there are 3 more coming. Also have been contacted by another person about a cute lil goffin. That one is up in the air and we did say we would ONLY if necessary. I think that last marble in my head finally fell out and, by gosh, it rolled out the door into the swamp. When I got home from work yesterday hubs had ALL the birds out and in the living room and kitchen, the cockatoos were out but in their room (thank heavens) but I walked in and just shook my head. That is 12 birds, many of who fly, in one area. Lord help us. They are changing the electrical lines in our yard now too so no outside for them until that is done, plus it is monsoon season her in Texas right now and our swamp is overflowing. One bark from the dog sent 3 macaws and 3 greys flying around, yeah, good times... I think I am tired, lol
  11. Better Spanish than French. Chacho speaks French a lot and I always thought he was mumbling until a young girl was over here helping out and asked why he was saying help in French. He also says The Lords prayer in French. More people speak Spanish though so they help us and tell us what these guys are saying!
  12. If i could catch them. I will drive them to you myself!
  13. Hahahaha, no and no. We have outgrown the house, thus patience running thin! Because we have had many many many many days of storms, no one has been able to go outside so they have all been in our living room, well all but 5. It is like a maze with all the stands to get from the living room to the kitchen. Bob and weave, bob and weave. Hubby knows now when I start to lose it, he said I just stand and stare into the living room and that is his cue to get a bird and start playing to distract me. lol I hope this link will work. It was a moment of high stress and he got Mary Ann off her stand to play. She loves this and when she gets to the top, she either says hello or giggles. But it is the end of the video that gets me, she wags her tail feathers! https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/8IFSOi8aAg0JMYasVT6me3G_3GPPfY9hxRTKkkjRzaY=s235-p-no
  14. With all the rain our swamp is overflowing, maybe they will just wash into her yard and we can complain to her! LOL
  15. He didn't eat very well at all. He would push the food to the side of the bowl and try like hell to get it in his upper beak and use his tongue. Wednesday I spoon fed him some sweet potatoes just so I would know he got some in him. Thursday was soft food again and after the vet we knew he would be sore and stressed so I steamed him some butternut squash and made wild rice. He ate very well again. Today though he is having some trouble moving around his cage. He only had one concrete perch and a boing before, now he has several so he is scared and confused a bit plus the stress of the vet visit. I just want to hug him.
  16. This is Chulo. He moved in Wednesday evening. https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-D9GIX3mG84I/VUqnE6zt4VI/AAAAAAAACIs/QUrCMHZmaPI/w326-h579-no/20150506_184304.jpg This is Chulo on Friday after a day with the vet! https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-zYTextsUMTM/VU0ve3KRdVI/AAAAAAAACLA/Le0erPebVDU/w326-h579-no/20150508_164935.jpg He is such a sweet boy, born in 2000.
  17. Lol. Almost even sounds like them! Buuurrrrppp
  18. Hahaha! My neighbor just sent me a message and said those "damn" frogs were loud all night. Asked us to get a net, catch them and take them to the Trinity River! I am telling you guys, this group of bull frogs are really bad this year! Help!
  19. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/bhzSUeB_DkfKfTiLlecaM6wNS2etVH6Bqz0CaYeL4uM=s235-p-no They had just started up so it was full force yet and not all the frogs were there yet.
  20. Rained to much to get video, all we could hear was muffled over the rain hitting the metal roof. Gesh we have a loud house, I am starting to think I would hate to be my neighbor! hahaha!
  21. Send you all you want! 2-3-8? Lol it is suppose to start raining again so they will be out in full force tonight. I will try and get a video so you can hear the sound before you decide if you really really want them. Lol
  22. I do, i do! As i was leaving for work this morning my next door neighbor asked about them. She said she had her windows open and had to shut them they were so loud. Lol
  23. Not sure where we were talking about the bull frogs but guess what?! They are killing us, we can not even go outback in the evening and talk because we can't hear over them. They have moved into the moat and brought every family member they have. I ask the greys every night to please please please not learn that sound. lol One or two are okay but any more than that and they become really annoying! lol
  24. Woo-hoo! Good times to be had this summer! There are 2 reasons this is the best time of the year. #1- The birds get the much needed fresh air and sunshine #2- I only have to sweep the entire house every other day!!!
  25. Great toys, just don't give it to an umbrella, lol. Instead of trying to figure out how to move the covers around to get to the treat, they removed the covers all together and then broke them.
