  1. She's a very pretty girl! Welcome to the forums and thanks for sharing the pics.
  2. Yea I've noticed that on my conures cage (that I want to replace as well). Maybe something more like this. http://www.birdcages.com/bird-cages/large-bird-cages/cornerparrotcageblack.cfm I really seem to like the corner cages. This one doesn't have the wasted space at the bottom AND it has a perch and bowls on top! Plus it's a hundred bucks cheaper to boot. Although something with an open top could be nice too!
  3. A handsome little guy! They are so cute at that age.
  4. Some birds never do speak, some are closet talkers and wont say a peep when someone is in the room and some of them you wish would just be quiet for a bit. But from everything I've understood about greys 6 months is too early to be too worried about it. I cant wait to get my grey and hope he/she is a talking fool. But if my bird never says a word I'll still treasure the friendship I hope we develop.
  5. Awesome video. I have a hard time making out what he is saying in parts of it but I never get tired of pictures and videos of greys. Thanks for sharing your Dayo!
  6. If I was you, I'd be all over that like my six year old on an ice cream sandwich! He sounds like a really sweet guy, and a great looking bird.
  7. Shyloh sounds like a lot of fun to have around. I wish the two of you the best of luck for a long happy friendship!
  8. My wife is a full time housewife but I work a full time job. When I come home our conures squawk like crazy till I come over and say hi. And I better spend a little time doing so or they let me know they feel shortchanged. Although I don't mind one bit. :-) I think it's so sweet the way they pester me for attention after being out of the house for the day.
  9. Good looking bird, congratulations! I haven't had a speeding ticket in so long I cant remember. My wife tells me I drive like an old man or that I drive like I'm driving miss daisy lol. But I used to have quite a lead foot before I had kids.
  10. I didn't think we had to worry but you know, better safe then sorry!
  11. Thanks! I will continue to shop around till I buy one. This is just the first one that really caught my eye.
  12. Rosa sounds like a great bird! Would love to see some pictures of her.
  13. Sounds like Aristotle is as smart as he is handsome. Glad to hear you are having such a great time with him. Thanks for the pictures, I just cant get enough pictures of greys.
  14. I know that some sicknesses I can get I can pass on to my various pets or them to me. My kids went to the doctor today and both have strep (dang the school, they are always sick since my daughter started school) and I was curious if I needed to worry about my birds that we have close contact with on a regular basis contracting this sort of illness.
  15. Sounds like she was settling right in. I didn't realize birds could get so overweight they couldn't fly. I learn something new every day around here. Looking forward to the continuation of your story.
  16. Sounds like this is going to be a very interesting read. I'm looking forward to the rest of the story. I have considered an amazon, I just think I'm obsessed with birds. Maybe it's the MBS I've read so much about here, but I really want a double yellow headed amazon. Such pretty birds.
  17. I am also interested in letting my future grey remain flighted. Of coarse I know some of the household dangers to watch out for like opening doors, fans, mirrors, glass doors, windows, cooking or like a sink full of water or even a toilet a bird could drown in. We have one flighted bird we let buzz around the house a few hours a day. We are just sure to watch him closely and lock up our cats, one of them I'm sure would love to eat our Blue. You should never leave a bird out of the cage unattended, but in my opinion especially a flighted bird. But our Blue is no AG either so as far as any habitual things they may pick up I have no experience.
  18. Well it was between that one and they had a hexagon cage the same size and me and my wife liked that one best.
  19. Some exelent pictures. Thanks for sharing!
  20. Sideways or not, a very good looking bird! I browsed around here for a few weeks before I joined myself. Best of luck to you and shadow.
  21. I'm no expert but I believe what I understand is to try and introduce new toys a little at a time. I've read a lot of people hang one on the outside of the cage for a while first to let the bird get used to it before putting them in the cage. Maybe even trying to play with it yourself to try and spark an interest. Hope this helps.
  22. I have an iPhone 4 running firmware 4.3.2 and have had no problems posting with safari. I love my iPhone but my service provider (at&t) can sometimes be a bit lacking.
  23. Think I've decided. http://www.ebay.com/itm/KINGS-CAGES-GC14022-PARROT-CAGE-40x22x68-bird-cages-toy-/370515201462?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item56446d4db6 Definitely looks spacious enough. And I figure I can always add a perch or whatever to the top later if we feel the need.
  24. They are both very beautiful birds. Congratulations on the new girl she is adorable.
