I found some earlier letters and exchanges with other people that I archived in http://shanlung.livejournal.com/21917.html some recent letters on free flying our parrots (food management to get stronger recalls) Those letters were 'recent' when archived in Sept 2005. Even so, folks still thinking of free flights and telemetry for their birdies might find the exchanges interesting.

Are we helping the wild greys by banning all impor
shanlung replied to shanlung's topic in The GREY Lounge
I wanted to puke the first time I read it. That one man was caught. What about other men who were not caught? Greys are flock creatures. How long would it take to cast a net over a flock of them? With the total ban on import of Greys, the value of greys there will be how much meat on the body for the cooking pot. No meat on the head, so off with the heads to that man with the 353 of the heads. If wild greys are allowed to be sustainably harvested for the pet trade, the people there will give a higher value to the wild greys instead of counting heads to be sold. They more likely will allow the wild greys to live instead. Those who achieved that total ban on wild greys import must still be petting themselves on their back and soliciting $$$ to assist them to maintain such ban while heads come off the remaining greys in the wild. This is a sick world we are in -

Tycosmum, When I saw Dommie that day, I had this insane urge to wring his neck as I was sure he saw me calling that afternoon from a shady nook but refused to reply letting me sweat it out where mad dogs and Englishmen did not care to roam. Those links will work now. I removed the extra http that got inadvertently inserted into those links earlier. You should click and look also into the thread you see at the bottom of my posting on my popular posts. I think you will be surprised The one that says " Tinkerbell - love of a flying CAG

I think you should best start with this summary here http://shanlung.livejournal.com/8284.html and even more details in http://www.geocities.com/shanlung9/ Tinkerbell Legacy or Part 2 should be read carefully There will be more answers there even to the questions that you have not thought about as yet<br><br>Post edited by: shanlung, at: 2009/05/22 05:19

Just relax and enjoy your grey. Here is what I do with Riamfada. She met hundreds of people and I think the people and Riamfada benefitted from those meetings. Maybe you might like to check out what I have done and perhaps you might find it is not as difficult as you might have feared. The Formosan blue magpies were incredible. While the photos you seen were great, those photos could never approach those magpies in real life. Perhaps HD TV might do that one day. One of the most detailed and fully documented site on how to live with a flighted parrot at home is in http://www.geocities.com/shanlung9/ Read Part 2 especially as that will guide you on how to prepare your house/apartment and your mind with a flighted parrot. First and foremost, you must have a sense of humour to live with a flight parrot at home I assume you want to live together with your flighted parrot, and not stuff him/her into a 'bird proofed' garage or aviary. Have fun with your project. Do be very careful about that transfer of birdie between home and outdoor aviary, unless aviary is entered from home. And never ever rely on 'thumb on toes' to keep a CAG safely. Those that do so never ever seen and felt the power of a CAG in spook condition. Remain safe by preparing for the worse and not what you hope for.

luvparrots, Thank you Riam is also the catalyst and energiser for our travelling about in Oman the way Tink was for us in Taiwan. I doubt we would have been to that many places without Tink or Riam now. Since then, a couple more reports were written that might give you folks interesting reading. shanlung: Wadi Al Maih// Modify Riamfada Mash//kitty harness and preparing to take them out too shanlung: Beach outing with Jessica / / Preparing for Riam future // Chess final // beach outing with kitties

I think I will fire up my Ouja board and try for that prize. Or perhaps I go and consult my I-Ching with yarrow stalks.

I have poor track record on psychic revellations as to sex of parrot from my flipping and flopping of Riamfada. A friend wrote to me her Macaw was DNAed to be male until a year later after that test, that BG laid an egg.
