Good Morning Janet.. Thanks for the new pics on the boing !!! He looks like a real clown.. Your right, i only have one fid that dominates, talks, etc. (my other fid is a female tiel who only calls when i leave the rm. she is a cuddler) and if i multiply Roscoe to three, i would have my hands full !!! It's hard enough to keep up w/ Roscoe's adventures ( he has curiousity beyond belief ) --- let alone in THREE directions... Sounds like Sterling Gris is an instigator -- like my 2 grandsons -- constantly picking & being picked on. no wonder we call 'em "fids" !!! You have a full-time job !!! Also, i just noticed he has a full wht. face, not just a wht. mask like Ana Grey & Roscoe... neat.. Thanks again & keep the pics & updates coming............ ))

Janet: You need to start: "The Saga of the Antics of Sterling Gris" It sounds like your baby boy gave you quite a scare. I'm glad he's ok. He's in that baby learning stage & i'll bet he will come up w/ alot of things you never could imagine !!! I really love reading your posts !! Has Sterling started talking yet??

Just checking... I'm looking on greyforums & facebook every day. Your ordeal has made me appreciate my CAG (an 11yo rehome with alot of baggage) so much more. He's my little buddy & I know Murphy NEEDS you back in his life as much as you need him...

Just letting you know, I'm thinking good thoughts of Murphy everyday.... Have you been back to the garden area yet? Morning time is always when my grey talks, eats & acts silly... Have you tried areas early in the day??

Still checking everyday for good news about Murphy... Good thoughts & prayers to you that a reunion is close !! I was thinking... my husband & I are retired & sit out on our deck morning & evening. All God's creatures around us living in our yard. Chipmunks, squirrels run the top of the fence, climb the same trees, have designated paths around the shed, groundhogs eating the same trees & bushes, cardinals, wrens, etc. nesting in the bird houses & foraging the yard, raccoons & opposums in the compost pile, deer trecking the same path, even the neighbor's dog coming thru the fence at the same place ---- they all visit daily !! morning & evening and all thru the day critters in their enviornment. Murphy is there just to cross paths w/ you at the right moment !!! Garden, tree tops, river... He's close by & I feel YOU WILL FIND HIM Stay strong & determined !!!

Man oh Man can those greys be confusing creatures if you haven't learned to read their body language !!!

I LOVE food comas !!! Reminds me of the three eaglets webcam from Iowa after a big meal !! Keep the updates coming.... You know how much we love baby pics !!!

OMG!!!!!! Just found this thread......... Indeed, Congrats on the new baby grey!!!! When I wished you Happy Birthday the other day, I had NO IDEA that you FINALLY had a new baby after all you've gone thru these past months !!! You must be simply thrilled to death after all your heartaches of finding a new CAG. I'm sure he will fit in nicely once Ana Grey teaches him the rules of the house !! LOL I'm finding more & more we have in common......... We're both retired (we have all day long to devote to being parronts), our BD's are on the 21st of the month (i'll be 64 this Nov. 21st), we both have Jeeps (mines yellow & i've had it 5 yrs. since it was new--I have dreams of cruising w/ the top off & Roscoe on my shoulder--that will never happen!!), we both have a blood condition, and, of course, are "bird ladies" who want nothing more in life than to be loved unconditionally by our fids !!! You never cease to amaze me with your wisdom & I want to hear LOT'S MORE abt. your new baby boy !!!

How nice of them to let you "share" their space !!! They do tend to take over. In the evening I lay on the floor & Roscoe walks around looking for anything he can get into. I put a small throw rug w/ nuts, banana & Brownberry Health Nut bread (his favorite) on it for him to make his mess on. Last night he had cherries & watermelon (Big Mess) w/ his treats. He proceeds to take food right out of my hand & claim it for his own. Chewed kleenex box, paper towel roll & drank out of my water bottle !! I cover my laptop w/ a towel & he roots under it to get my mouse & steals my keys he plucks off the keyboard. My husband (who he doesn't like) sits at his desk in the corner of the living rm. -- Roscoe boldly walks over to him to bite his feet to chase him away. Last night he tried to chase him away from the couch... Half way across the floor my husband pointed at him & said " don't even think about it". Roscoe gave his evil laugh Haw, Haw Haw !! & turned around, walked over to me & rubbed his head all over my legs to say I love my mommy. looks back at my hubby & totally fluffed says "get out of there !!". At 8:00 p he starts his "Go to bed" to my husband -- so he can have me all to himself. Slowly he is taking over the living room as his space, so guard your office space (what's left of it) well, cause eventually it WILL be theirs !!!!! )))

Our bedtime (hubby & I) is 10:00. Around 9 Roscoe goes to his food bowl & loads up his belly... Immediately after, he climbs down to the floor, walks over to my chair so i lay on the floor w/ him. I hold his "blanket" up & he crawls under it. He makes kiss sounds, rubs his head on my hand & I give him a few bites of banana. He comes out from under his blankie & holds his foot up for me to carry him back to his cage door. Sitting on his cage door, we turn off the lights & i go over & talk softly saying, "time to go to bed" "go in your cage". He rubs his head on my hand, makes smacky kiss noises & goes into his cage, clings on the side & i rub his toes while he says go to bed while he rubs his head on the bars w/ more kiss sounds. This has been going on for a few months EVERY NIGHT in exactly the same order & procedure !!! This is his bedtime ritual & he never changes it. I tell him what a good boy to go in his cage, I love him & go to bed. He then relentistly starts telling my husband every 30 seconds "go to bed!"... We both walk into the bedroom & he never makes a peep until we get up in the am !!! Love him soooooooo much !!!

Janet: So very happy to hear Sully has a new parront !!! I've had Roscoe a little over a year now, and I don't know how I EVER lived without him. We're all about keeping our fids happy

This forum is the greatest !!!!!!!!!!! I am so happy Gilbert likes his new cage.. Just sit back & enjoy Seeking knowledge i came to this forum 8 mo. after adopting my 1st grey. After 50+ yrs. experience w/ animals on the farm & 30 yrs. surgical vet tech.... I read everything--- I whole heartedly THANK Shanlung for his experience w/ Tinkerbell!!! His approach gave me a complete turnaround from dogs & cats. Alpha male was thrown out the window & ALL my progress also has come from tips from janet & jay- Thank you both !! My first bird experience came 8 yrs. ago with 3 tiels.... THEN CAME MY GREY !!!! I am so very greatful this forum has provided an insight to allow Roscoe to become a happier more loving fid. I look forward to so much more!!

Your right on... The learning process does go both ways !!! Roscoe added another action to his good night process 3 days ago!! When lights go off, he starts "go to bed" over & over... I go to his cage & he immediately moves off the cage door & into his cage.. I tell him thank you & good boy !! 3 nites ago he put his head down (i thought for a sucker bite) so i offered the back of my hand & he rubbed the top of his head & neck & then made a smooch kiss sound. I melted !!! so far that's his new routine & i love it. Any chance for contact that he initiates is a step forward!!

Just found this thread.... I try to read everything but seemed I missed this one. I've been adicted to the "Decorah eaglets" & broke away to catch-up here. I, too, have a rehomed grey & it's taken me a yr. !!!!!!! to have him start to express love by rubbing the top of his head on me or "smooch" sound kiss to get his way about something. Roscoe has been so patient w/ me & it's starting to pay off. I still look forward to the day he will cuddle and let me scratch his head & neck. He plays under a blanket on the floor and feeling secure will let me rub the top of his head w/ the back of my hand. I just want to scoop him up and smother him w/ kisses !!! I must have patience ... He has come such a loooooooooong way. I know how Gilbert makes u feel !!! I melt everytime Roscoe rubs his head.

Last nite I was on the floor w/ my laptop & Roscoe walks up; I immediately cover the keyboard & mouse w/ a blanket. He starts rooting around under the edge of the blanket and rubbing the top of his head on it (telling me he loves his blankie) Well, he got his head under & came up w/ the end of the mouse in his beak. I gently removed it and he immediately rubbed the back of my hand, then the blanket and made a smooch kiss noise & said Hello mommy. He was trying to bribe me out of giving him the mouse back, the little booger !!!

Wow !!! What a lucky fid... Maggie & Jay are the best parents you could get and all those bros & sis's. You two have a heart of GOLD !!!
