  1. Our grey Corky and our zon Cricket step up onto our index finger with no trouble. Their favorite place to sit is on our shoulder. They are both well behaved so they are alould to sit there
  2. Hi pet lover and welcome to the forum. Thats a big job you took with the rehomes and I wish you the best of luck. If there is anything you need to know the members here will help in any way they can.
  3. Our grey has to have her doors all wired shut. And this her third cage she can get out of. Tention locks, slide locks, flip locks turn your back and she is out.
  4. Welcome to the forum Salgar and it`s great that you took in a grey that needs a home. judygram gave you some good advice and in time Carla will be glad you took her in also.
  5. If we can come up with some safe colored foods for our fids to eat we could come up with a new fad and call it poop art.
  6. When they find something they like they go all at it.
  7. Hi Jayla nice to have you here.
  8. Welcome to the forum and your new little girl. CAG or TAG and name and some pictures please.
  9. They do have their favorites.
  10. All my birds love hot stuff and they go nuts over it
  11. I think it`s the sound of your voice that has a calming effect and it`s not always a learning thing it`s a bonding that will lead to a better relationship.
  12. We have dogs, cats, chickens, rabbits, peacocks, ducks, and goats and the only poop I check is the parrots. We watch what goes in and what comes out. My friends think I`m nuts and that I should spend some time with a shrink.
  13. The return you get when you spend quality time with a bird in need can not be measured. That lesson came from Cricket and I will never forget it.
  14. Every time one of our birds has an off day I thing of my son and the logic he always tried to use to make his point.
  15. Hi Grazrgr8 and welcome to the forum and with 13 years haveing greys I bet you have a lot to offer. Looking foward to your post. And say hello to Bigelow and Patty for us.
  16. To be a brat or not to be a brat that is the question. I think every one knows that line from Hamlet 3/1 by Shakespeare. To be or not to be that is the question. For a parrot to be a brat or not to be a brat, I think we all know that awnser. When mother nature speaks a parrot will listen because she is louder than we are. You can make small changes and redirect some of actions but when mother speaks she wins. It is a must for us to understand that in the wild they have to make choiceses on eating keeping the beak on order and keep their talons sharp. In our home mother nature still talks to them and they listen so we have to give them things to do that they do in the wild. To make toothpicks out of 2x4`s, dig for their food and guard their young and them self from the unknown. To be a brat or not to be a brat we know the awnsre or at least we should know. They are what they are so enjoy them for that not what you think they should be.
  17. Years ago we would get Corkys talons trimed but we have not had that done for about 8 years now. We have a number of concrete perches in and on all our cages and Corky and Cricket are so active with their climbing and play that we have not had them done. Some times they get long but they grind them off by them self. We also have a concrete swing and I think that helps.
  18. When it comes to parrot people they understand a streak off the shoulder and a feather in the sweater thats normal what`s wrong with them.
  19. I would be very careful with Oboe around the larger birds especially the zon It would just take one mistake by oboe and he could br injured by the larger birds. I had lovebirds at one time and they drove the other birds nuts. We had a cockatiel that was so mad at the lovebird it pulled a tail feather from the love bird just to keep it away from his cage.
  20. Happy hatch day Sully May this day special allways.
  21. I don`t know about you but I hate chainmail or chain letters or chain E mail, but I have a sister that always sends them to me E mail and I just delete them. Every now and then I will forget and open one just to find out it`s a chain letter but this one was interesting. I took all the crap out and left the good stuff. It`s about the year 2011 and it`s kind of interesting
  22. MarcusCAG There are ducks that will perch in a tree we have them here in NE Ohio. I don`t know what they are called we just call them tree ducks. They have web feet and swim also.
  23. Audi looks like a normal grey cockatiel and I did not notice any yellowing on the head. I know she is very young and it may change but I don`t think so. She is a great looking tiel and I can be wrong. Keep me posted.
