  1. Just thought I would give everyone a heads up, I'm clearancing out most of my Parts inventory over the next couple of days, and I'm putting it on eBay for auction. No worries, I'm not going out of business! Just clearancing some stuff out to make room for new toys!! <3
  2. Ok, so I'm 24, but my husband and I watch disney movies ALL THE TIME- we're kind of big kids and they make us laugh... anyway, Sully used to just really like Wall-e, even laughing when Wall-e would say EEEEVEEEE! But now, it's pretty much every disney movie we watch. He laughs, and dances and sings with the songs. When the seagull scene in 'Finding Nemo' comes up (ya know, where they go 'mine, mine, mine'), he screams and says "oh sully-man..." He never ceases to make me smile I'll try to get it on video... Every time I pull out the camera though, he freezes and says "bing!" (that's the noise the camera makes when I hit record)...
  3. Maybe if there was some smoke? Sully gets upset whenever we eat crabs (he doesn't like the smell, I think)... maybe it's a smell thing... Of course, he might have talked to Talon and realized he wanted a hamburger too!!
  4. HAha Thanks for all the responses! I don't expect Sully to stay put... but if he would just understand he can be WITH me, but can't be ON me all the time It is an honor, and adorable when I think about how badly he just wants to be with his people... so maybe we can come to an understanding. He loves to stand on the laundry basket and "help" me fold clothes (until I pull a towel out, which shifts the weight, flipping the basket and clothes on top of him ) So that situation is solved. Now if only I can get him to grab a towel and start drying dishes
  5. Well, Sully's last two flight feathers came in, and boy... is he LOVING being fully-flighted. He can go everywhere I go.... wooo : / Lol, I love him, but it makes it difficult to take care of my household chores and cook while being able to leave him out of his cage (usually on a t-stand o the door of his cage). He comes flying into other rooms when I am doing laundry or other things away from the main living room (he's never alone, usually my husband is "watching him" (or as I call it, Birdie/Dad bonding time) when I'm doing chores) Anyway.. When I am busy and he's flown to me, I say; "I'm busy" and put him back where he was. It's not working. As soon as I get back where I was and re-started, in he comes. I know the simple solution is just to keep him in his cage until I'm done, but with three cats, other birds, a sick father that lives upstairs, he would always be in there...and he deserves lots of time out Any pointers to teach him to stay on his tstand or cage when I need him to? I don't want him to be a shoulder bird, and he won't stay on his t-stand, even if I keep one in every room.
  6. So I went to my supplier today, and she showed me the new cookies she got in and told me I HAD to bring one home to sully. These "cookies" are 'Baked Birdie Munchies'.. and they are AMAZING. They have fruits & veggies in them, along with fiber, oatmeal, flax, millet flour, etc. Anyway, Sully ADORED them and ate his entire cookie, and licked his feet clean! lol, just wanted to share I put them up on my eBay site if you want to try them. The company is based right out of Baltimore, so I love that it's a local business (for me, lol) Anyone ever had these? They smell so good!
  7. Oh- and on another note, his tail is more red than most TAG's too. What about your fid's?
  8. Sully had a lot of "polka dots" all over his chest, thighs & under his wings when he came to us at nearly 3 months old. He has gone through a small molt and his first major one, and has retained about 25% of his dots. I am sad they're not as numerous as they once were, but that means he's getting older. I do hope he keeps some of them throughout adulthood. They're super cute
  9. What an amazing story! Can't wait to hear more stories of your new life with Tweedy! I am so happy he found you to take care of him! Are you feeding him pellets or seeds? There is a TON of information on proper nutrition on here, if you're at all overwhelmed Make sure Tweedy has lots of toys & chewies to keep him occupied and his mind busy during this difficult few weeks or months. He is probably mourning the loss of his old family, and sometimes the stress will cause them to pluck or chew their feathers. The best way to avoid that is to keep him busy! :) Welcome to the forum!
  10. So happy for you!! Sounds like she's settling in... you'll see all kinds of personality traits over the next few months. She's trying to see how you'll react to her.

  13. AH! Sully is fully flighted... thanks to this recent molt... As a result, He flew across the room to my laptop, and before I realized, popped two of my keys off, and CHOMPED them! Not much left besides tiny pieces... yikes. This was after he flew to Romeo's cage to try and bite him, and after he flew after his favorite kitty....
  14. Welcome Doug! We will be relocating to Moneta, VA in a few months, Welcome!
  15. Welcome to the forum! We would love to see pictures and hear more about your new love!! Congratulations on your new fid!
  16. Welcome Hope to hear more about you & your flock!
  17. Welcome The best way to find the perfect bird for you, is to let the bird find you! Visit with petshops, breeders & other parrot owners and find what kinds of breeds you enjoy most, then just be open to bonding with a bird, and before you know it, you'll probably find your flock-mate
  18. Faith. Usually, by law they have to say if something is treated. They may not have to share WHAT it is treated with, but it's usually on the packaging somewhere. I have compared the twine that is natural to that of treated, and usually the treated twine has some kind of glossy texture, or seems sticky
  19. They're nickel played usually. Stainless steel is expensive, but resists rust... I have always used (and sell) nickel plated chain & it's safe!
  20. I think any kind of food coloring would work, as long as it's vegetable based
  21. Very cool, Doug!!! What did you wrap the PVC with? It looks wonderful! I would just suggest using a wider base if that one begins to tip with her on it, but I think it will be fine!
  22. & I'm using Pine, Ash, Poplar & Manzanita (when I can find it cheap)
