First off, after 20 days of food conversion, I have finally gotten Coral to exclusively eat Harrisons along with her veggies. Ok, here is the bad news I found this mess when I got home from work! I only work 8 hours!!!! At this rate, she will eat me out of house and home. I've been monitoring her weight so I know she is ingesting a lot of it, but is this waste normal after a conversion? Any Harrison users out there with the same problem? Thought I would post this to let those that have followed my conversion thread know that with a little patience, their diets can be change.

I just bought a bag from zupreem naturals. I'll see where this goes. thanks!

Hey guys, I want to improve the overall health and well being of Coral, so i have decided to convert her over to Harrison's from Pretty Bird. I'm on day three of the conversion. So far, I can get her to eat it if I mix it with Pretty Bird. She would wait until she's done with the PB before she even tries the Harrison. If there is PB left, she would not touch the Harrison. I've been doing 3/4 Harrison and 1/4 Pretty Bird. From reading others' experience, it seems that I am at the stage where I need to convert her over Cold Curkey? That is to not offer pretty bird and stick with Harrison? Is this too cruel? I feel really bad to doing this, knowing that she doesn't like it as much..... HELP! OR PLEASE REASSURE ME....

Judy, in your previous post, you mentioned the term beak. How do u define being beaked?

Hi From Canada! + A Question

I agree.. Greys have no odor unless u get really close to them. Depending on what you feed them, their poo does have a slight smell. It's not bad though. Nothing like a hamster or any other pets I've owned. -
Paypal will allow me to dispute as soon as I give him 7 days to prove he won't. So, this coming tuesday, I will file a formal dispute. Wish me luck!

Thanks guys!

Can someone recommend a good light bulb to use above corals cage? We live in an apartment, so he only gets sunlight 4 times a week. I want to ensure he's getting his UVB rays.

RALEE, You won't regret getting that cage. As you know, I am bias toward that cage. Coral loves it and I'm sure both of you will too. If you have any questions about assembling it, just ask. Did I tell you there is no manual included? LOL It's not so bad though. Just and FYI, item E that is being called in the old diagram that is included with your cage is not needed. I thought they forgot it, but I double checked and they told me that item E is no longer needed.

Someone please help me with the definition of a Bite. I'm having trouble deciding if I've been bitten by Coral yet, because she uses her beak as a third arm. I would say on a pain scale of 1-10, i got a bite of 3. So the definition is: 1. It breaks skin. 2. You bleed. 3. You scream. 4. It's like a play pinch 5. It feels like a hard hold. 6. If you have to ask, then you can't join this club yet.

I just read up on the paper. One thing to add is that it's cost a lot more than unused newspaper. I wonder if there is a generate brand substitute.

First off, hats off to the vendor on Ebay. She replied today apologizing for all that I've went through. She put in a rush order to get me a brand new seed skirt and all new hardware for Coral's cage. I can't wait to get this stuff and get it on her cage. In the mean time, Coral is beginning to like the new cage a lot more than her old one. I left both doors open and Coral chose to go inside the new cage on her own. Ok... so i did put a treat to lure her in.. Never the less, I think tonight will be her last night in her old cage. Wish me luck!

Post edited by: pga7602, at: 2009/10/13 03:29

Is it ok to use human dish washing soap on Coral's dishes? I mean stuff like JOY?

Update: I have not gotten a response from the seller, because this happen on a SAT and now it's Sunday. I hope he will get back to me by tomorrow evening at the latest. I couldn't stand waiting any longer, so I brought over a friend who works with metals and he came with some tools and made the seed skirt work!!! He also brought over nuts and bolts to use, so now the cage is all set. I've been letting coral in the cage here and there just to play. I want to keep doing this for at least another few days before i take down her current cage. One more thing..... I LOVE CORAL DIDN'T FORGET... PICS TO COME...

I'm with you a 100 percent on this one. I am a super neat freak and cannot stand the sight of things on the floor. I know it's their nature, but does coral really have to toss out the stuff he doesn't want to eat? Would it be so hard to drop it to the bottom of the cage? That said, I don't get made at her. I pretty much just follow her around like a slave and clean up her mess as soon as it's made. I have a dedicated sweeper right next to her cage that I use 2-3 times a day. It's mostly pellet particles and down feathers.

Well... the cage arrived last night. To my horror, the 2 boxes it came in were pretty torn up. I wanted a good nights rest before getting angry at the situation. I don't know who to blame, but when I opened the package today, the seed skirt was totally destroyed. It was obvious, that the cage was not properly packed. There was no padding of any kind. Just metal on metal contained in a box. I was able to put the entire cage together, but lots of bolts and nuts were missing due to a poorly packed bag of hardware. When I opened the box, there were little tiny washers and nuts falling out. I have since contacted the selling and notify him of his mistake. I asked that he kindly fixed these issues promptly or he will not get a good review from me. That being said... the cage itself is PERFECT. It is well crafted and the finish is impeccable. If the seller can send me a new seed skirt and the missing hardware, both Coral and I will be a happy camper. PICS TO COME WHEN SKIRT ARRIVES... FINGERS CROSSED...

I can't read Italian, but the description says BIG CAGE SIRIANA ZINC... That doesn't mean Zinc right? I believe Zinc is poisonous to birds.
