  1. What fun you definitely caught the attention of us usual active members, hope some lurkers will be brave enough to join in.
  2. It should give you hope to see that even after years have passed the relationship remains. Your turn will come with patience and time. This lady is from her beginnings when Nonsense was learning about her new world.
  3. As George Takai would say "Oh My!"
  4. We love our Ninjas here too, used to use a little Black & Decker chopper but that did not last. The Ninja is a workhorse. You can add Chia seeds, Quinoa, unsweetened coconut shreds or flakes and where ever your imagination takes you. Cooked egg chopped in works too. You are doing a great job but not all of us are pellet fans, fresh is best and manufactured foods leave room for manufacturing errors- ground metal, over or under amounts of vitamins ans minerals and depending on the brand preservative chemicals and coloring agents.
  5. Well the good news is the roaches tend to avoid daylight , bright Sunlight is not their thing.
  6. Very good building trust is the giant first step, things will work out well from here.
  7. Good job as long as it works, although she may be learning that if she makes that bad noise followed by the preferred sound she gets a reward. hmmm
  8. Nonsense is in her underwear, those are her downy underfeathers she should have contour feathers over them. Sunlight unfiltered and natural is the best thing and cheap. Aloe vera juice in a mister is a wonderful thing to do for your bird. Getting her to eat her veggies can be a challenge but would help her metabolism to get them. You may have to show her how yummy they are or try some cooked mashed sweet potato with a little coconut oil stirred in, you can add a dash of cinnamon too.
  9. Drawbacks are Opossum poo that cockroaches may ingest then if any birds eat the roaches that chewed the poo there is a very bad protozoan that builds up in the birds bloodstream until they turn toxic and literally fall off your arm dead-that sudden no warning. Also they can attack and kill smaller birds.

    An adorable little Grey dumpling.
  11. I agree more time in his cage when you are available to attack and let Andy be his manservant for now. The suggestion to spend some quiet time near his cage moving slowly and speaking softly will help you work towards a safer interaction. It may be too much all at once for Oliver.
  12. Dealing with such a sudden death is so difficult, I know there is a tear in your heart right now.
  13. Perhaps she has just a touch of Cockatoo DNA?
  14. Sounding good we will wait for an update .
  15. Indonesia is loosing so many birds to the local pet trade, it seems 70 to 80% of homes have birds as pets there.
  16. Excellent work, no wonder you are tired and a little beaten up. At the zoo I learned that ants do not cross water so make a ant proof barrier by standing any perches or food bowls in a water moat. Does not have to be deep just water around all sides.
  17. Do remember that both doves and Pigeons are dinner for many animals and birds of prey so my recommendation is not to push them for contact. Give them some time to see you are not a threat you need to go slowly and win their trust. Food is a strong motivator but so is sitting quietly next to their cage and talking softly to them.
  18. If she is hand tame do stand back far enough that she can fly down at about a 45 degree angle, if the angle is too steep she won't want to try.
  19. Read all the books have not had a chance to view the series. Super well written books.
  20. Took the wind out of my sails, so unexpected. I will support your decision but wondering if this is really the right thing for you both.
  21. Videos coming? Congratulations to you both for your work and empathy for your damaged digits.
  22. Wonderful news, I know that is a relief for you.
