  1. A new adventure, a coincidence and hope you find his people before the little stinker pulls a Napoleon and takes over the household.
  2. Pain is a lousy thing to live with, wishing you healing and relief.
  3. At last the hard part of wanting to make everything better but unable to do much is past. I hope he has found old friends of his soul, I think he will have sweet memories of you both and he too brief time with you all.
  4. Glad you joined us and nice to hear Kya has a new begining, don't sweat the pellets he will do just fine with out them ( NO PELLET PLANTS OR TREES IN HIS NATIVE HABITAT.) Fresh veggies even dandelion leaves are nice, a little fruit he may enjoy a taste of unsweetened oatmeal. You can make a healthy omelette with chopped greens and maybe a little grated carrot or sweet potato. We will all enjoy following along as his personality blossoms. Welcome! (:>
  5. Those dash board lights can save you having to replace an engine-$$$$. Birds could care less about the car just about their dinners and their treats and their toys and well maybe their pet humans.
  6. Uuummm YES and we have several times over, cannot leave a bird in need. Not sure if that means I am a little off kilter and they are happily pushing me towards being that crazy bird lady or if they are helping keep me sane. (:>
  7. Lovely picture and do beware Hawks a so very much faster than we are.
  8. Aloe is a wonderful healing agent and is safe, if the bird keeps either picking at the wound or stretching that wing breaking the scab open then the sock restraint should prevent both . The Rescue remedy is another good tool that will assist the need to keep attention away from the wound. Definitely keep the bird occupied more to do and add some protein to the diet, cooked chicken, tuna, salmon or scrambled egg. Even chamomile tea in his water bowl may help calm the stress.
  9. Maybe planet Earth and her inhabitants are up to her illustrious standards after all. (:>
  10. Tiny, lovely and so territorial with each other. They look like jeweled jet fighters skirmishing in our back yard. Wonderful happenstance that you got to touch two of them due to circumstance.
  11. So funny and perverse both of you.
  12. I think it is a remnant of baby bird behavior, takes them back to being fed and cared for by Mom & Dad. Birdy love.
  13. At the sanctuary we have a Military Macaw that is 52 yrs old, a very elderly Conure with both gout and arthritis age unknown and several Amazons in the 50 yr range still active. As far as Greys go I just don't know the ages of most birds in our home or at the Sanctuary. In the wild they contend with predation, human capture, drought and floods as well as habitat destruction and disease.
  14. A difficult part of living with any animal or human facing the end times, you have my respect and love for leaving him his dignity.
  15. A sad reminder of our effect on our planet.
  16. Love the first one for those game of chance birds.
  17. Such great joy to hear she is just opening up her life to fun and treats. The journey no matter how difficult it was at the beginning is becoming an awesome experience, good on you.
  18. All the local stores are sold out, you must have cornered the market.
  19. Belated happy wishes for Gracie.
  20. Good insight into the lesser knowns.
