  1. Keep us updated we do care about both of you. Tough times for certain, tough little bird as well.
  2. Beautiful shot of the dogs and they are worthy subject matter. Love the turkeys living around you they can get quite brave. Chulo looks as happy as the dogs, so nice!
  3. Metacam relives pain and is an anti-inflammatory.
  4. Perhaps some nerve pain from the injury itself is radiating to the leg. Birds will often pluck an area that hurts like a dog chews the painful area. Do call your Vet and give them the update please.
  5. Even a harshly clipped bird can disappear when the wind is right.
  6. How cool is that a vulture that eats veggies and seafood.
  7. There was a lady in Florida I had ordered from in the past but have not kept up with her. Sorry wish I was more help.
  8. If you can find the rescue remedy it may help her allow the area to heal.
  9. Six years already? Wow she has forged a path into all of our lives with your help.
  10. It is like young human males they see a cute girl and have to show off. She should be fertile but their hormones respond to the seasonal daylight length and foods available and mood. Keep her calcium levels optimal too avoid egg binding a good healthy diet with fresh greens is always a good idea.
  11. Happy to hear all is mostly well and how wonderful you are beginning to progress as nicely as Miss G.
  12. Continuing adventure, happy to hear the plants moved happily how are the birds expressing feeling about their move?
  13. Yahoo good to see you back up. Pete hasn't put the birds talk human puzzle together yet? Hope the bath goes well. The big problem with living in the country is people dumping their pets as well as internet accessibility.
  14. There is value here in belonging to a "flock" that reaches out for answers and ideas and support. Hubby is on several Facebook groups I am on none, just don't want to open my life up to folks. On here we share our journeys into discovering how an alien mind works and how to reach across that species gap to touch that feathered soul the way they can touch ours. Grateful we have this platform.
  15. Ah bribery, oops I meant positive reinforcement, it works.
  16. The little Yellow cheeked Amazon we live with is a total sweetheart runs up your arm so she can sit on your shoulder and just chill. She came to us after a very dear friend died and moved into our hearts very quickly. Has no ideas about aggressive behavior loves head rubs and playing with your clothes-no holes just beaking the fabric.
  17. She is lovely even in her fluffy underwear! Looking forward to hearing more about her personality as she relaxes into her new environment.
  18. May the circle remain unbroken. Ray you phrased that so well we have a wonderful opportunity here to share what we have observed and learned from our birds and each other. Generous minds sharing ideas and thoughts and kindness. Together we do make a difference in the world we live on.
  19. following the pathway Gilbert and family blazed for her, Gracie has that benefit going for her already on top of landing in your patient home.

we would like an answer to the question of remote control use by Kya. Our flock just destroys a remote if they can get a beak on it.
  22. They do develop the ability to command, natural royalty. No matter how we think of ourselves they can give us the value they deem we deserve.
  23. Through having read so many versions of why Parrots pick up our language when they want to I have decided that it helps them bond with us as their flock. behaviorists have noted that in the wild they may join a different flock than they were raised in and have to learn the new sounds of the new group. They have also been observed imitating primates in the Forrest to get them to move away from an area they want to feed in. It has been years since AI read all of this information so I cannot remember the reference sources but it makes sense to me.
  24. Superbowl and super move all performed the same weekend. I am certain it will take more than one weekend to get everything moved over to the new digs. was thinking about your task and hoping it went as smoothly as possible with so much to keep up with.
