  1. Casting is better than expected, costumes and acting are very good. Hubby won't watch due to the way women are treated, yay him!
  2. Some folks don't feed the cats thinking they will catch rodents if hungry but in my experience a well fed cat is more likely to work at rodent removal and line up her/his kills with pride.
  3. You stressed out your little grey nurse, you should both heal and maybe grow even closer. So sorry you were injured that sounds quite painful!
  4. In the zoo world we call that a visible barrier.
  5. Many clipped birds have flown off, a sudden fright a loud sound or a gust of wind can carry that clipped bird quite a distance. do use caution and the harness don'[t put all your trust in a wing clip. There are many sad stories out there if you delve into the subject.
  6. Offer the fresh or cooked foods early when they are hungry then feed the dry portions later in the day.
  7. Glad you canceled for now at least they way you describe her she would likely not react well to that stress. Just preach caution about open doors and windows, if flighted they at least have more ability to avoid predators if they should get outside.
  8. Good to hear from you again, I know you are staying very busy but can you tell us names of the new birds. Cute names for the kittens. I picked up a young black catten very thin very long tail just politley sitting on a discarded mattress beside the road. There were some Pit bull crosses roaming about so I just couldn't leave her there. Very sweet my son says she looks just like a cartoon witches cat.
  9. https://www.livescience.com/59912-parrot-murder-witness-voice-mimicking-ability.html African grey parrots (like the one shown in this stock image) use their tongues and the opening and closing of their beaks to control sounds. Credit: Richard Susanto/Shutterstock A Michigan woman was convicted of first-degree murder on Wednesday (July 19) in a bizarre case that included psychics, mysterious death threats and a parrot as an alleged eyewitness. As reported by The Detroit News, Glenna Duram was convicted in the May 2015 shooting of her husband, Martin Duram, in what police said was a botched murder-suicide. Several things made the case a national story, including that a relative of the victim said she predicted where the murder weapon would be found and that interfamily squabbling over the crime led to death threats among branches of the family. Perhaps most notable, however, Martin Duram's ex-wife claimed that his pet parrot was repeating the Durams' final argument. "Shut up," the African grey parrot can be heard saying in a deep voice in a video allegedly taken a few weeks after the murder. He also says, "Don't [expletive] shoot."
  10. Neoow would that be a case of fur flu? I did have to leave work and remove a very excited Umbrella Cockatoo from our living room blinds which will never be the same. Then once again had to rush home and remove said Cockatoo from my elderly Mothers head, she remained undamaged. Needless to say this bird delinquent and my hubby had an escalating challenge as to who was able to out engineer the other on escape vs escape proofing. Hubby finally:rolleyes: won that after about a year.
  11. Also call the local Veterinarian and pet shops in case someone has alerted them to seeing her or bringing her in.
  12. She takes Chillin' to new level, I must say she has a well trained slave.
  13. Feeling your frustration, hoping for the best.
  14. Messy means a happy Grey too clean and no one would believe you had a parrot.
  15. Ringing ears? may be Too much Too.
  16. Definitely things you can do to make less airborne bird dust. Spray the cage paper with some water before changing it out to fix the dust in place. A really good air purifier like Rabbit which should be on the away side of his cage form where you spend the most time. Frequent misting of Dorian with water or Aloe vera juice, again to keep the dust from becoming airborne. You could consider an outside aviary as well for part of his day. My brother developed Asthma while a child and had some very scary episodes, the Dr. advised getting rid of all our pets except the Goldfish. Mom and Dad said the cats and Parakeet were family members and my brother had to take the series of shots which did greatly improve his breathing but I left the house on shot days. It may be that the Pneumonia did some damage to your lungs and the dust may just exacerbate the issue.
  17. I like this style, not far to fall and lots of horizontal room for toys a ladder or ramp as needed. One of our greys is missing pat of a wind and has been prone to occasional seizures this type works for her.
  18. If he is like people then the effort should do him good!
