There is nothing more I can add that hasn't already said by the other members of this forum. Many prayers have been answered and joy has been brought to all of us through Rishi, you and your wife. Thank you for keeping us updated and thank you for being such great parronts. Thank God for providing the nutrition that Rishi needed at such a perfect time and for answering our many prayers.

I love to give Dixie kisses, here she's letting me give her some and she's kissing back.

Given everything Rishi and you and your wife has been through I think he looks wonderful! Thanks for sharing the pictures! So glad he's eating well and playing again, it brings joy to my heart.

Sterling is going to have to learn to do the "Cupid Shuffle" better before I put him on YouTube - great inspiration for him and me! Thanks for sharing. -
Congrats on Early coming home. I know you're excited and I'm excited for you! It will be a wonderful day for both of you!

Caiti, you're not a failure, you've just been outsmarted by your grey! He's being territorial when he's on his cage, he knows he's out and needs to be bribed to get back inside, make going back into his cage an exciting thing, something he only gets when he's in there and does a good thing, like going back when he's supposed to. Keep trying, be consistent and you'll be fine.

I came in today from classes and visting GBG and instead of letting Dixie out I sat at the computer - obviously obsessed with Camilla cam and wanted to see what I missed. I had just clicked open the browser when I hear: Dixie: Mom, Mom, Mom Me: What Dixie: Out Me: Just a minute Dix. Dixie: Out Mom Out Me: Ok, Ok Dixie: Gimme Kiss, pleeeeeease. Ok, twenty minutes later I get to Camilla cam.

10/1/09 - Only four days until the premier of General Beauregard Grey. In this trailer you will learn: Robin visited GBG and took a few pictures (see following images.) Robin reports that GBG is now holding a steady 400 kg and hasn't plucked anymore feathers. While not completely weaned, GBG spent most of his afternoon eating pellets and green beans of his own accord. Must say that GBG is definitely on the mend, showing more spunk and moxie than on previous occassions, to include flying to the lady who had purchaed the timnah and was appauled by his appearance. She had come in to visit the timnah and pay on him. He landed on her head and promptly pooed in her hair. WTG General!

Post edited by: rbpittman, at: 2009/10/01 23:39

We wouldn't have F.A.R.T. and S.P.E.W. with Jill. She's absolutely mad - but in a nice way - that's what makes her so much fun to be around and why we love her so much! I love you Jill! Mr. Webster - please put in a new definition of mad and put Jill's picture beside it. This way we'll know what mad in a nice way is and home to emulate her on an hourly basis.

Post edited by: rbpittman, at: 2009/10/01 23:13 -
Just a little salt and lime to go with my Tequila - Jose is such a dear friend of mine! Happy T..T everyone!

Now I'm completely hooked to the Camilla cam - the waiting is excrutiating, but I just got a good look at all four eggs - they are absolutely beautiful! Great job Camilla and Gonzo! Thanks Dave for sharing with us.

I wish you were in Charleston, I would bird sit for you as well. Unfortunately Patrick is just a bit south for me. Things will work out fine, and your hubby will step up and put his man panties on I'm sure!

Congratulations on being a boy Sydney! You have a great name for either sex (my niece is named Sydney!).

I have to agree with Dave, Dan and Particle about this - if the ability to talk is the key component in adopting a grey, then adopting an older one who already has the ability would be the wiser choice. Of course, in my opinion, this component is the benefit of a grey, not the deciding factor in having one. The total attributes of a grey are far more appealing than it's ability to talk or not to talk. The known things like their intelligence, their observational skills and the sheer joy they bring are as important as their ability to speak. Each species of bird brings and offers different aspects: U2's for the cuddly, center of attention nature, Macaws for the brilliant plumage and size, grey's for their intelligence, and the list goes on. Looking at only one aspect leaves you completely missing the entire bird and again, in my opinion, makes me question why you would choose the species. Sorry if that sounded harsh...I guess I'm on a roll today.

Post edited by: rbpittman, at: 2009/10/01 17:52

My condolences Deb on the loss of Bonnie, I'm glad that things went quickly and well, and know that Bonnie is running free in a pasture that is just hers. In my mind God holds a special place in heaven for our beloved animals and cares for them until we meet them again. Bless you for caring for her with such kindness, warmth and true love.

Chugging is reserved for F.A.R.T. and I'm not sure it will go fast enough to be a "bat out of hell" but since it did "go once" may it should be named "It Went"

I did say you were crazy! I figured you had to be to have Harvey. I still laugh hysterically when I think of you wolf whistling at the man on the street with Harvey. If that doesn't confirm you are nuts, I don't know what does. -
And I thought I had come up with a great title for myself! Being Madame Prez I'll get to socialize with the blue bloods south of Broad here and on this forum so I find myself in excellent company! I'm all up for T..T. especially since today is Thursday. Dame(Damn) Judy, please in all your infinite wisdom and power find a way to make this happen!

Ok, it's not as impressive as her first word, but Dixie has started saying Mom! She says it in LP's voice of course, which is great, I'll always have his 13 year old voice even as he grows and it changes. The thoughts of being able to hear my son at this age for as long as I live is a benefit I never thought about until Dixie called Mom! The joys of having a grey and the benefits they bring to our lives are more than anyone could ever tell another soul about. Those little things that you don't hear mentioned about them. I've saved a message from my grandmother and have played it often since she passed, but to have Dixie speaking in LP's unchanged voice will last forever and I can hear it often, without having to think about it. It brings a comfort I never expected. Ok, so I'm full of mush this morning.

great question, but i have no answers for you...I'll be following this one myself to hear some good advice.

Let's see - my dad always called his boat "Whole in Water" and followed that with "that you throw money into!"

OH MY! The indecency of it...lol. Thanks Dan for informing us and the warning in advance. I had no idea what it would have looked like otherwise and I have 2 male birds at home. Will purchase a helmet just in case!
