Post from another group: Found ... African Gray ... Fremont, California ... Adrenwood Village area. Evidently the bird is clipped and was found on Wednesday 4/22/09. The bird is not in my custody nor have I seen it ... the basis of this notification is a post I ran across in another group. Contact: Ken Blanton, 510-797-9038, kcblanton@dslextreme.com

I will take pics and post as soon as we have him here. I know how now b/c I had an expert teach me, right Judy? Thanks for the congrats..I'll surely let you know how it goes tonight!!
-
Thanks for all of the info, Pat. We are going to see him in a couple of hours. :woohoo: Ya, I hope he'll be OK with hubby. We'll see!
-
Dang, and my playstand is soo cool..lol. OK, I'll have to come up with some neat toys!
-
Oh wait...does Playstand qualify?? Officials?
-
OH Yeeah! I just went and bought a boat load of PVC today for a new playstand! Then I see the contest! Game on! :woohoo:

Annmarie, keep us posted on your new addition. I am going to meet an SI Male tonight, he is five and I am pretty sure we will be bringing him to live with us. Not tonight, but if all goes well, soon. I said the same thing that I wish I wouldn't have to join a separate group, and found out there are other Ekkie's here! Erika (Baxtersmom) has been a great source of info.

Gah! I wrote my post and then gave you karma, and then it dissapeared! I hope it doesn't show up twice now! You are my first Karma recipient! I wanted to add that they are sweet, cuddly, funny lovebugs too. They are also very clingy, and needy and louder than you could ever imagine, and if they are not happy, your neighbors a mile away will know. They are very hard to please. I have also spoken with a few "experts" in Toos and it is their opinion that they should never be kept as a house pet. Thanks Lovethatgrey for posting that, there are so many sad situations that arise from people being ill-informed on these beautiful creatures. Anyone considering it should read, research, talk to experts and vets at their disposal, and then do it all over again before bringing one home. Rescues are over-run with Toos.

Ah....it was wonderful. Like something out of a movie. We used to walk/play the whole town over. And summers were the best, floating on our tubes down the river. Little Beach was a favorite. I was just thinking of it again, what the odds are that two people from a town of ten people-LOL-connect on a random internet Forum years later from two different Countries...Very Bizarre and I bet rare.... You have so many fids, how go you manage? Are they all "balanced"? Do they all get along? I may be adding #2 and I worry about them not getting along, or the balance being thrown off. Mesa is so easy and happy, I worry that bringing in a 5 year old may mess it up. Are any of yours "adopted" from other homes?

Name doesn't ring a bell. My family name was Remando. We lived on Eldred St. It was actually my grandparents who lived there, and when I was very little, I started to spend every Spring, Summer and Christmas break there with my grandparents. I went back a few years ago for my Gran's funeral, it's like it is in a time bubble, most of it is exaclty the same! We used to swim at Honeymoon Bay, so beautiful. When I was 14, I moved to live w/ my grandparents and did a year @ LCSS.
-
Wow! That is bizarre. I am 36, how old are you? I mean, doesn't everyone know everyone there? Lol
-
I grew up not far from there, I had no idea. So awesome that these places exist.
-
Lol, I was raised in Lk. Cowichan and Powell River, I had the same logging town upbringing! I can set my bait, catch it, kill it, clean it and cook it when it comes to fishing-lol. Fraser Valley is beautiful...I miss Kelowna and the Okanagan so much! I've only been gone two years, and I can't bring myself to go back b/c it will be too sad. You sound like you are in booneyville! Near Hope?
-
This is me...I don't have one with Mesa yet...
-
Welcome to you Tom and Sam. So sorry you lost Nelson. I am glad you chose to take in another "baby", which leads me to ask (did I miss it) how old is Sam? You have come to the right place, this is a fantastic group to share and learn.
-
Welcome to you! I am pretty new here too, and I love it. There is so much to learn here, I am sure you will love it too. There are great helpful, supportive people here as well. You must be so excited for your baby to arrive! Can't wait to see and hear more!

The link above is to an independant site that says that with VOC free pain, you can paint with your bird on your shoulder. Now, of course I wouldn't do that , but it sounds like the way to go. And it is 100% VOC free, so there is nothing better than that. I will still be cautious and make sure we are safe. I am thinking a dark, or burnt orange....or an orange of some variety. She definitely gravitates to orange, and it will match Verde's beak too! Lol...I will keep you posted. I am going to paint Sunday or Monday. : )

Hi Ginger, welcome! I grew up on the Island! I am from Kelowna, now living in Colorado. Nice to see you here, it is a terrific group with great members and so much valuable information.

Looks like we have a few expatriats here! So glad! Where is everyone else from?

{Feel-good-00020114} Hi! Welcome. I am new here and a new TAG mama to Mesa. I have learned so much, and there are a core group of members here that are so helpful and welcoming. Looking forward to getting to know you and all you FIDS. Wow, you have a housefull. I have 17 & 20 year old daughters and that in of itself is a major job!
-
I don't know about the breeder, but I wanted to say: Great choice!! We got a little TAG girl and we adore her!! She is amazing, smart, sweet and I can't imagine life without her...it's only been a month!
-
Adaya for sure! Excellent choice. It sounds like an Ancient Queen or something Egyptian...which is African technically...very Regal!

OH! I just read my post, it looks like I am saying I haven't read anything about this, meaning the painting!!! NO! What I meant was favorite colors! Doh!
