  1. Hey Jill, ok then a doll/manaquin.
  2. Beau does this too, usually when flying away from something he is afraid of.
  3. That looks an amazing toy, unfortunately it has been a week and Beau won't even go near his boing so an atom would be a no-go area for him.
  4. They are lovely Sheila and I'm sure you miss them.
  5. Haha tyrell, sorry to laugh but I had the same worries with my grey and asked about it on here only to find that this is quite normal. Stop worrying ;-)
  6. Does anyone else's grey/parrot demand your full attention when out of his/her cage? Beau absolutely HATES me being on my laptop above all else. If I have my headphones on he will attack them or chew any wire coming from the laptop. Yesterday whist I was talking to Jude he decided to crap on the screen and I had to hastily run for the kitchen towel as it slid down towards the keyboard. He is such a
  7. You want sympathy? You got it! I hope you get well real soon. You are doing the right think in sending your Father away for the duration, I wouldn't go anywhere near my elderly parents if I had it. Look on the bright side, once you've had it you will be immune to it. ;-)
  8. {Feel-good-0002006E} How very clever of Koko, I'd call that being completely out-witted lol!
  9. Wow she's a lovely lady, congrats on getting her.
  10. Poor Guapo, who could neglect such a lovely guy. I bet he thinks it's his birthday coming to you for TLC. His lifer is about to begin now for sure. Congratulations to you on getting this great guy, may you have many happy years together. Cant wait to see pics as he develops along with his confidence.
  11. All greys are smart and Harvey is no exception Jill - he just hides it well lol.
  12. Oh dear I hope this baby is found real soon before the frosts return.
  13. Wow snowy is a real cutie, looking forward to seeing more pics of him as he grows. You seem to know what you are doing feeding-wise. Good luck with him.
  14. Congratulations Brittany, as the others have said given time you will find a routine to work around both your babies but you will need to keep your eye on Pepper at all times when they are together.
  15. Bernie is that a cattepillar crawling over your head? Lol priceless!{Feel-good-0002006E} Elvis the pelvis & Enis the ***** yes quite lol!
  16. Yep I swore I'd never again buy fresh pommies for my two but at 10p each I couldn't resist, it was a treat which won't be repeated for a good while. Beau couldn't get enough of his while Argyle completely ignored his. I covered eveything I could think of with newspaper and moved the cages away from the walls & curtains and it seems to have worked. :cheer:
  17. I would think that smoking in a room with parrots in it is as bad as smoking in a room with children in it - definately not recommended. I know someone who smokes in the same room as her parrots and has an air freshener next to the cage. I have told her but what else can you do or say? You can advise people but you can't tell them what to do in their own homes.
  18. Thanks Caroline and everyone else for the replies. No I don't think there are any recent photos Caz. JD, It's easy to teach your parrot to dance - just move your head up and down without nodding (bend the knees lol) and say dance, after a while your parrot will copy you, he may even say dance as he does it. I suggest you do this whilst alone or the men in white coats may come-a-knocking
  19. I've not heard my grey make any hissing sound but he always clucks when having his head scratched.
  20. I don't have anything scented around my fids, the nearest thing scented to them is two scented candles which I don't light and they are in the adjoining room which is seperated by an archway. The only other smelly stuff I have is upstairs or in the downstairs loo which is seperated to the birds by two doors. I don't think that damage to a bird's health is immediate but I'd hate to think that your "friend's" bird's lifespan could be shortened for the sake of air fresheners. Silly people.
  21. Hey welcome back Caroline :silly: we have missed you and it hasn't been the same without you.
  22. Thanks for the replies, no mathematical answers here but JungleDreamz came the closest and so gets the karma - wish I could give you all karma but the powers that be won't allow it Hmm let me see, maybe in 6 hrs from now  Beau is a bottie wiggler too and is pretty good when out of his cage but in it he is a  Argyle will purposely go in his cage if he is out and near the entrance but otherwise no. Thanks again guys.
  23. Sorry Lyn we don't have a video recorder and anyway I would die if my voice was caught on it.
