I have had a bit of luck last night and he flew to the lounge to sit with me, he asked for strokes and I managed to stroke him for ages and scratch all over his head and even stroked his wings! It felt like the good old days! Were still nowhere near where we once were but we have made much progress!

Hiya, thanks for that, yes I can spend more time with him I am still working and don't officially get home till 4 on a week day but can have him out from then till bedtime. I just don't know where to start with handling him more if he keeps biting me. I am scared of him biting which probably doesn't help.

Hi everyone I need some help. I bought milo as an 11 week old baby and he was "silly tame" I could do anything with him. He's now 7 and has changed so much. I know it's all my fault and I didn't continue to give him the attention he had at the start, I started work and we moved house etc. currently he he lets me hold him and on his terms normally evening he lets me scratch his neck lots. In the daytime he's not so cuddly and often fakes asking for a head scratch to bite. He flys to be and sits on my shoulder but the other day but my ear, he has also been known to fly at me in attack mode not often but has done it. I can can take him out his cage by hand and that's about it really. He's very confident and brave not at all timid or shy. I know now I bought it on myself but I want to help him and have a better relationship with him, if there's any advice you can give i'd appreciate it. Do you think I can ever get that relationship back with him? Thanks

hi, again, havent been on for a while. anyway i have an update on milo. i took him to the vets shortly after i posted on here. and it turns out he had a bacterial infection in his feet and legs which he spread to his beak. he had a injection and that evening got his voice back! thanks for all you replies!

hi thanks for your replies. he doesnt say anything parrot noise or human word. on the rare occasion he does its a human word but most of the time hes silent. i have noticed that heis sleeping more than normal and hes generally not as active as he was. i have the vets on wednesday so fingers crossed hes ok.

hi everyone im hoping for some help with my baby! hes a 1.5yr old cag he started talking early and used to talk non stop saying words, screaming with the kids literally all day every day. the last couple of weeks he has stopped talking and screaming and only says a few words rarely. i have started leaving him out all day as i thought he wasnt out enough and depressed when hes out he constantly wants cuddles and nudges my hand and thats all the time. before he liked cuddles but he also liked his independance. his poop is normal and he seems normal otherwise. and he eats well if it is a health problem what could some other signs be? i will take him to the vet next week but just seeking advice and others experiances.

not sure if this should go in the feeding or health. anyway milos been on zupreem fruit blend for a while now but since i have been giving it to him i have noticed his poop smells more than when he was on seed. ealth wize hes fine and he lves the food, just wondering if anyone else had this problem, sometimes i dont think using newspaper helps as this smells when it gets wet but i cant think of anything else to use. let me know if everyones the same. thanks

well my house is quite noisy so thats proberly why milo can be noisy, no real screams tho just chatty and arguing with his toys. but i love to hear his noises!

milo does this except he hangs upside down and squawks at his toys, is that normal as ana grey was quiet when she was playing?

he just ate another one, i dont know where he found it, but i know that one was definatly a full one and maybe it is just ground up. its hard to tell, he chews everything! i have given him a toy now to occupy him, its got a bell in it which he used to be scared of!

ur right on the male voice, although im his favourite and he doesnt get on with my husband he dose pick up on what he says, i talk to him all the time and he doenst try much of that but my husband said "i will be back" a few times and he was saying it by the morning! i suspect he will have a deep voice but i wondered how long it took them after trying something till when they got it right?

milo is 8 months old and l know they dont usally start till around one but he started a bit early and does telephone noises, milo, hello milo,come on, come on milo, all in a normal voice. he also says "i will be back" he says this clear but really croaky, will he say it normally or is that just how he says it? cuz hes been saying it like that for a while now.

hello, i have just caught milo with a wax crayon. will this have done him any harm? im sure he did eat some as he destroyed it, will he be ok?

hi everyone, milo came to me weaned on to seed and as his bag is nearly finished i would like to transfer him to zupreem fruit pellets, i just wondered how much do you have to feed them and how long does a bag last? (i do feed fruit and veg egg and other stuff) thanks

thank u all for ur opinions, and for taking the time to see the article, i agree with everyone really u all have valid opinions and i think we all agre that the parrot mills are unacceptable. and i suppose lots of animals r abandoned or given up or sold not just parrots. tho i think as parrots have complex minds we should look out for them. just a question, could u get another species as a comanion bird or should it be same species?

would u not get another one then (unless u adopted)?

the article is advising not to buy or breed but to adopt, adotion is always good. tho i dont know anywhere u can adopt from?

hi everyone, i have just finished reading an article on parrots and that you shouldnt keep them as pets as when they get sexualy mature they want to find a mate etc. those with older greys how do u view this? in ur experiance, i know obviously their personalities change from when they r babies but in ur opinion is it cruel to keep them, do they get distressed? i had an 8 yr old and he lost his mate and he didnt seem particuarly distressed he lives with my mum now and is happy. whats your opinion? and what is ur grey like as i know they are very much individuals.
