i puti him in it again last night and took him down the garden he really enjoyed it and im definatly going to take him out as much as i can, i suppose it gives them a lot of stimulation as i know they are very clever birds so the benefits are obvious. hes a little monkey and is really cooperative when being handled.and we had done .l.ots of practice b4 i recieved the harness. tho i did read in the leaflet that just cuz they let u puit it on the first 5 times doesnt mean they will continue to let u put it on. fingers crossed tho!

hi everyone i finally recieved my aviator harness this morning after a long wait! i watched the dvd and luckly i had been practicing the wing touching and face touching since i have had him hes 15 weeks now. i got him out and i put the harness on, there was a slight hiccup as he kept grabbing the harness with his naughty lil legs! but we managed it in the end! i took him outside and he had a look round then bought him bac in and took it og and fussed him! im very happy! and he wasnt chewing it either!

i have 3 kids the younges is nearly 3 and my grey is not phased buy them at all, hes not"jumpy" or shy and is sharing a tray of pomegranat seeds with my youngest as i type he doesnt mind being in the middle of all the "action". he has his cage to retreat to if needs be. i have heard lots on greys and children but i also used to have an 8yr od cag who wasnt phased by kids either and he was only semi tame. i has 11 kids at a birthday party and he was in his cage but seemd to enjoy it as he was going thru his vocab and enyoyed the attention. i think its up to you. how may kids do u have? 8 is not really that young. i think like ANY animal it depends on the household they r bought up in. one is still a baby for an african grey so depending on how the breeder has bought it up it might be ok,

just a thought, if they were selling a play stand she proberly hadnt been kept in the garage or that little cage all that time, i know its no excuse an still a criminal thing to do but maybe thy sold her cage and stuff and she was just in the garage for a short period whilst waiting for her new owner.(not that thats ok cus its not!) if they had the playstand she proberly used it. im not defending the owner as i totally condem their actions but just to maybe help u a bit if u know what i mean, i would hate to think of her spending all her life in a canary cage.

im gonna try the beets thing! i had hoped everything was ok, none of the actual poop itself is runny its well formed no matter what colour it is. he is also spending a lot of time on the floor of his cage, he climbs all over it but he naps in the bottom. i know they like to scratch around on the floor of the cage and stuff but im just wondering if hes spending too much time down there?! maybe its a baby thing as if he does go on a pearch its usually the one low down unless hes eating then he goes on the eating pearch. thanks for all ur reasurances!

i am always paranoid that milos poop is abnormal. its usualy green and sometimes very wet, im not worried about this, last night they wer really dark brown not runny but im worried why this is, today thay have been back to green, hes on a seed diet with fruit and veg, the only new thing he has had was pomegranet seeds but i dont know why that wud make is dropping come like that? i have seen on the internet that dark brown/black can mean theres a problem, hes only 13 weeks at the moment. anyone know if its normal.

just an up date, i have now got milo when he came to me at 11 weeks he had feathes but they were not loads like now (hes 14 weeks), i was thinking back to this little grey i went to see b4 was supposidly 30 weeks, and she looked more like milo when i first had him, she was also un rung and reading some of the posts on clipping i realise the girl must have done it herself as the bird dropped like a rock no gliding or even drifting just banging. and i didnt want her the girl said that a breeder might not sell me one as i didnt know anything about them, i still feel sorry for her snd wished i could have helped her. i hope she went to a nice home. i dont believe she was 30 weeks thats 7 1/2 months. she was either younger than the girl said or in really bad condition.

i think so too, i believe animals can sense these things too, we also had a dog and a cat and when the cat died the dog howeled at the same time every morning which was the time th cat died, she never howeled b4 he died. they r very conforting and its lovely to have them with u! its interesting tho how they know how to behave, milos only 14 weeks and has proberly never seen a human cry.

last night i was very sad as my nan is not her best and i had seen her that everning, i came home very sad and crying and i went to c milo to cheer me up, i went to his cage and he came out really quietly on my hand and i took him to my bedroom and literaly cuddled him for ages holding him close and he was quiet as a mouse and he climbed up a bit and snuggled his head under my chin, his face was really pink, useally hes really active and jumping on my head and flying round. do u think he knew something was wrong? cuz when i saw him today he was jumping round as usual and i had greeted him as usual! he is so sweet and i love him more each day!

no hes been eating and playing fine, maybe im just paranoid, and he flies to me when i call him and hes been flying. hes not staying fluffed up but its just the first time ive noticed him doing it alot.
-
my 12 week old baby milo keeps fluffing up, i know when they fulff up it can mean they r confortable but he shakes, fluffs all feathers up then they go down again, its the way hes doing it thats concerning me, he is eating/drinking. anyone know if this is perfectly normal?
