Beautiful babies and look at all that yummy food!! Thanks for sharing
2. Congrats Ann Marie!! I am so happy you finally get to bring your baby home! That is too bad the breeder clipped his wings I used glass custard cups for Ecko and sometimes he would tip it over but they were heavy so he didn't do it a lot. The crocks would probably be better though. Also I would put the towel on the bottom and put newspaper over it so it doesn't get dirty easily. I would leave the grate out until he learns how to perch good. They like to lay down on their side at the bottom and I would think the grate would be uncomfortable for him. When you notice that he starts to sleep perching up then you could put the grate in. Good luck with Alex. I can't wait to see some home coming pictures
3. Yay it worked!! Great video Hannah! Your quaker is such a good talker! I love how he was singing! And what a cutie Ecko is and all those cute noises he makes.

10. Hahaha that is too cute Jen!!! Your babies are so cute!
11. My mom and I have also talked about this. She knows if something happened to her I would take all of her birds. Actually I would take ALL of her animals(which is ALOT.) Her animals are her pride and joy and I would never be able to give them away. I know she would do the same for me if something bad happened to me but I know I am going to outlive my baby. She is my very best friend and I couldn't trust anyone with my animals as much as I trust her. Your lucky that you have such a good friend that would do that for you. I know my friends would never do that for me.
12. Great pictures of your handsome boy! You can definitely tell you have so much love for them! Thanks for sharing
13. Thanks guys! I'm glad you liked the picture. And I'm glad I'm not the only one with beggars! Azzie - that is too funny, Jinx is very smart!

Good for you Jay and Maggie for helping Buddy and BJ! You are great people and I can tell you have a very warm heart for birds! Wow I didn't know you have so many birds. Are they all breeder birds? I hope you see some progress soon.
15. My dogs are HUGE beggars! Everytime Ecko or Slater has food in their bowls my dogs like to stand and wait for them to drop something. Ecko finds it kinda funny to tease them. Sometimes he will put something in his mouth and lean down to show them and they start drooling. When he finally drops it he turns his head to the side and looks down with one eye  He is such a devil  Do your dogs do this too? Or are my dogs the only beggars out there? My little chihuahua is also down there waiting for food to drop but he is so short you can't see him haha. The first one is Luke (a golden retriever), Haylee(a golden/lab mix), and Tucker the chihuahua.
16. Great thread! This is the first time I saw it and it makes me feel a lot better about Ecko's(CAG) weight. When we got him he was 467 grams at 8 weeks old. Once he started flying he dropped all the way down to 410 grams(not all at one but within weeks), I freaked out! I didn't think that was normal until the vet told me it was. He is now weaned and 16 weeks old and weighs around 430 grams. So its good to see all these greys ranging in different ages and different weights.
17. OMG they are SOOO addictive! I think Ecko needs a friend. And now I want a TAG hahahahaha oh dear. I think I need to stay away from this forum for a while but its addicting tooo!
18. Lol thanks! Yes you may ask He is pretty much holding his weight but it does go up and down. It ranges between 428-433 grams so thats why I say he weighs about 430grams. I weigh him every morning after his big poop  How is Spock doing?
19. Oh I know what you exactly what you mean Hannah. It would feel like starting a new relationship with a girl bird lol. I was so anxious to find out his sex thats why I did it so soon lol. The breeder always said he was a boy but I had to know for sure.
20. Good luck!! I hope you get the job
21. Oh that is great news Pat!! Great pic of you and Jeepers!
22. I have a senegal parrot and boy is she a character. My mom got her when she was 5 weeks old and handfed her and everything. They were great friends. She is 3 years old now and her personality totally flipped on my mom. She is absolutely terrified of my mom now. We do not know what happened or why she is so scared of her but I am the only person that can handle her now. Sometimes when my mom goes near her she gets so scared and attacks her. But everytime she sees me she gets soo excited, starts to regurgitate for me, and just wants me to give her attention. She screetches if she can't see me or hear me anymore when I am there. I don't live at my moms house anymore but I do go there a lot and play with her. She can't be near other birds because she bites them. She has bitten me REALLY bad before and I was scared of her for a while but she hasn't done it recently. This is only the personality of my senegal, I don't know how others are but she is definitely sweet one moment and can turn very bad the next. I still love her though and so does my mom. She likes to puff up and do a dance for me too. Also the only thing she says is "Hi Kiki" or "Hi Kiwi" in a very low voice.

Post edited by: caitb2007, at: 2009/05/28 15:54
23. Thats a great name for the new guy Natasha! How is Torry doing? Are you able to handle him and does he bite? Thats funny that he sleeps at the bottom of the cage, do you mean he actually lays down on his side or perches at the bottom? Do you have a grate at the bottom of his cage? That would help so he doesn't stand in his poop lol. P.S. I like your new signature

Post edited by: caitb2007, at: 2009/05/28 15:23
24. You tell her Natasha! You are so right, some people just do not need these birds! I hope you can talk some sense into her!
25. {Feel-good-0002006E} HAHAAHAHAHAH OMG Ziva cracks me up!!! That is sooo funny! I bet the people at the vet were cracking up too! I can't stop laughing
