  1. Very cute Dave, we are going to have to find you a job to help with all this free time you seem to have!!!!!! LOL!!
  2. I have a TAG, a CAG and a ZON. My TAG was here first and is the feistiest of the three although she is the smallest. My greys do not get along nor does my zon get along with my greys. They do not out and out try to kill each other but they do not sit comfortably together or eat together. Although one will take some food and move over or on so one of the others can also have a treat/bite of goody. I did not get my birds/parrots for each other, I got them for me and I take responsibility for them living together and watch them closely.
  3. Hi Chris. A very nice and informative intro. Looks like things just fell into your hands. Would you be taking both greys?
  4. Oh if I thought Rocky was neglected I would have brought him home; but both GW Macaws are beautiful and very happy and healthy. All this shop's parrots are beautiful. s
  5. Relax everyone, I know I could not possibly give Rocky the good home he deserves. My house is too small, and my Ana Grey would either be very intimidated or very bloody after a fight with Rocky. Rocky actually has it quite well in this pet store and has a buddy named Billy who is owned by the owners and they play beak wars. I understand they are quite good buds and hang together all the time. Their out of cage perches are huge and right next to each other. See this two huge parrots together is a beautiful sight. But if I marriage a millionaire or inherit large sums of money, I would definitely look into just an adoption again. if I go into the pet shop again, I will try to remember my camera.
  6. I am quite lucky because my three parrots love to be misted right down to their skin. They spread their wings and open their feathers so that they can become completely drenched. I always use a fine mist and spray upward at my parrots. They usually go to the top perch on their playtops so that they can really get wet. In fact they will turn in circles so that they can be totally sprayed. Spray upward and see if that helps.
  7. So today I went to a local pet shop and saw the most sweet Green Wing Macaw. His name is Rocky and he is 2 years old. Green Wing Macaws are the 2nd largest kinds of macaw right behind the Hyacinth Macaw. The Green Wing is supposedly nicknamed the "Gentle Giant" because he is so mild mannered. Anyhow, I have to stop myself from wanting this macaw because he is really and I mean really too much parrot for me. He is easily 36" long, that's 3 feet! And his beak is as long as my hand with the fingers extended. he is one big bird. Anyways, I had to share this sweet guy with you all. http://www.parrot-bird.com/parrot-pictures/green_winged_macaw/Macaw-parrot-165.jpg (this is not Rocky as I had no camera with me but this is a pretty close picture of what he looks like). When I got home I called to see if Rocky was for sale, he is for $1,600. But my house is not big enough for 4 parrots and certainly not big enough for a Green Winged Macaw to even spread his wings out to fly. But if I thought I could manage such a bird, I would certainly bring him home in a heartbeat.
  8. Welcome back. Looking forward to see some pictures of Mosley!

Oh what fun, I hope you will let us watch as they grow and grow and grow up!!!
  10. Sorry Momo, i forgot you are in another country. The site is called nuts.com.
  11. Well, Louie has chewed the electrical cord of my food chopper to pieces. It's a good thing I prefer hand chopping my parrots' veggies as my new food chopper is now destroyed. The only good thing about this whole thing is that the chopper was not plugged in because Louie chewed through the wiring! Which is a good thing for Louie because now I won't be having fricasseed amazon for dinner!!
  12. Congratulations on your new friend. Can't wait to see some pictures and hear more about her. She sounds like a fantastic little lady. Welcome to the Grey family!
  13. Sounds like Salsa needs a new playmate that loves to fly and fool around like him. LOL!
  14. My birds do not like each other. They only tolerate each other because, well, I insist. I keep my canary in my office with a cloth screen over the doorway because, frankly, Ana Grey would "eat him alive" if she could get ahold of him. My birds are all flighted and out most of the day as I am retired. I did not get my birds for each other, they are for me and I accept the responsibility of keeping them safe from each other.
  15. Happy Hatchday Biscotti. It's your birthday and you should get to do/have anything you want!!!! LOL!!!
  16. My TAG doesn't like wet veggies either and I tried dehydrating them and they were too limp so when I found this on-line provider, I was delighted: http://nuts.com/snacks/fruit-veggie-chips/veggie-chips-no-salt.html These make great snacks for my flyers when they are out of their cages. Not messy, just crumbly.
  17. My zon had his name Louie when I re-homed him. He has lived with me for almost 2 years and he is 4. My tag, I named Ana Grey because she is such a little lady. She has been with me since she was 4 months old and she is almost 4. My cag, is a silver color so his name is Sterling Gris (Fr. for Grey). He has been with me since he was 5 months old and he is 14 months old. I also have a young canary (Captain Caruso) who was born in March of 2012.
  18. Oops, we all misspell now and then. And sleet is frozen rain and look again I corrected the mistake as you were posting your message!(sticking tongue out at you!!!! LOL!!!)
  19. Oops!!!!! Sorry Goose, you are quite elegant and gorgeous for a sleek girl!!
  20. Hi Dayo's Mom. My TAG, Ana Grey, does not like to go to bed either at least in the beginning she was ornery about it. She would follow me to the bird room at bed time but fly off when I tried to get her to step up and go into her cage. I just started eying where she was in the bird room, usually on he playtop, and turning off the room light, (birds don't normally move around in the dark/semidarkness), and step her up in the dark (I left the door open a crack so I could just see by the hall light) and bedtime became more simple. Now she just steps up from the playtop and into her cage no problems. I also give my birdies a night time snack at bedtime so that helps get them willing to go into their cages for nite, nite.
  21. How wonderful of you to give Jamie a Greyt forever home! As for the talking, I believe he is talking and just needs love and care so he can perfect his speech. I know parrots can learn to talk in later years because my neighbors have an older parrot (true age unknown but at least 12 years) is calling the kids by name. I look forward to hearing how Jamie develops under loving care. Welcome to the Grey family!
  22. I believe that if you are unfamiliar with hand-feeding a baby grey you should let the "breeders/experts" do it. As for the lighting, please check in the Health Room that has lots of information about necessary sunshine/full spectrum lighting for our greys. Can't wait to see som pictures of your grey. Have you picked a name yet?? Welcome to the Grey family!!!
  23. What great pictures of your Xandir and Goose! Thank you for letting us see your handsome Goose!
  24. Greywings please post a thread or two about your "two Toos" (sorry had to print it{lol}). I would love to read about their antics good and bad. Perhaps you can calm some of the myths about the "velcro" parrot as they are all different just like our greys.
