  1. Great photos of Joey. Looking forward to watching him become the handsome guy he is meant to be. He looks very happy and relaxed in his new home. Great job!
  2. Great photos Ray. Makes me really miss my log home.........
  3. I brought my TAG, Ana Grey, home at 4 months old. She was agile and very curious. She was clipped. I think all breeders think clipping their greys protects them from stupid new owners. It was about a year before she could truly fly and has not stopped since. My grey's breeder told me to love and comfort my new grey because she was looking for her "flock" and to bond with her new "flock". Ask your breeder how much your grey has been handled and how comfortable it is with people. Ana Grey was and still is very unafraid and loves people and sharing their (human's meal) food with them. When you get your grey home, see now it reacts and go from there. Talk to your grey, as they so want to belong and understand what is required to belong to its new home. Enjoy!
  4. Ouch!!!!! Dan, we are going to have to find you something to keep you busy. You have too much free time on your hands. (smile)
  5. Oh dear, please just relax. If you are nervous and anxious so will your grey be. Greys are very observant and pick up on things. Talk to your grey and tell her what you are doing and relax. Leave her alone in her new cage. Don't confuse her by moving her back and forth. Calm down and let her explore and get use to her new home.
  6. Happy Hatchday Marco. Sounds like you have a very proud mama. Have a wonderful day and remember.... It's your hatch day and you can do anything you want!!!!!! heh heh!
  7. Hi Debbie welcome to the Grey family. Only you can decide which grey you prefer. I have one of each and if I had to choose only one it would be difficult. I will say that my TAG is more easy going and fearless and my CAG more unsure and leery. I would say that most of these traits come from the way they were weaned and cared for as babies by their breeders.
  8. We would have to see a video of this head action to even make a guess at what your grey is doing.
  9. Mahi is exercising his wings. Do you let him come out of his cage? He sounds like a very sweet grey.
  10. Happy Day Cricket! Love to hear about you and Corky!
  11. Welcome to you and Mahi. Looking forward to learning more about the two of you.
  12. Please do not force your grey into a cage. How about putting the cage he is use to, into the new cage. Put food into the feeders in the new cage but none in the used cage. Close the door of the used cage so the grey can't get in. I believe your grey will go into the new cage when he gets hungry and having the old cage inside might be helpful. Forcing a grey, or any pet to do to things is never a good idea.
  13. Hi Nedy, congratulations on your new companion. Nedy sounds like a sweet grey and well cared for in her original home. The peeping may be a wish to be head scratched. I know my greys love to have the top of their heads tickled. Welcome to the Grey family.
  14. I have a tag and a cag and a BF zon. All can talk. My tag is a female and is 5. She talks only when she wants something. She is sweet, has a calm and gentle personality and is the boss of the parrots. My zon, can speak Hindu and English and talks only a little now. He likes guys and is leery of gals. He usually follows my tag's lead. He is a re-home and is 6 this month. He is gentle and very observant. My cag, is 2 1/2 he is a great talker and chats all the time. His personality is robust and busy. Their personalities are all different and their situations (where they came from) are all different. That's what makes them great friends and wonderful companions. I am delighted that I have found homes for my cag and zon with persons who have the same types of personalities as they do and who have agreed to care for them after I am gone. The funny thing is that my most gentle and sweet parrot is the one that I have not found a future parront for. Time will make it happen.

  16. Very nice. When I get something new for the parrots, I just put it up and leave it alone. They quickly check in out on their terms. They should love this perch, I know mine would be all over it. In front of a sunny window would be great.
  17. Oh yes, Griffin looks so interested and healthy. Good job Pepperberg.
  18. I have a mirror in the bird room, and in the living room. My parrots do not care about them one way or the other. The times they have looked into a mirror with me, they just look at me to see what I am doing. Ana Grey has reached for a touch of lipstick a time or two, but I say no because, well... she is only 5.
  19. Happy Hatchday Rikki! Love your pictures and hearing about you any chance your Mama gets to share you with us. Have a wonderful day on the 14th and know we love to hear about you. Happy Day, sweet Rikki! and remember when it is your Birthday you can do anything you want!!!!!
  20. It is made of rope materials. Big and heavy. I have three grandsons who are very much busy boys. When the youngest is old even, I intend to give the cargo net to my son to attach outside for the boys to climb on. Should be fun for busy boys.
  21. I have a large and I do mean large and heavy cargo net. I have it stacked in my garage. It was to cumbersome. My parrots hang on wooden perches and rope boings throughout my home. I and them too, like them best.
  22. What I find irritating is that my Tag, Ana Grey, loves to fly off and not answer me or come to me when I call. No matter what I say or offer, she is silent as the wind. It is her thing to do and she is very proud of herself. Sterling Gris, Cag, tries to help by calling, "Ana Grey, where are you?" When I do finally find her, Ana Grey proudly steps up with her beak in the air and a smug look on her face. What a queen!!!
  23. My three don't dump their bowls but they do love to take every piece out of their bowls to examine, either to eat or dump on the bottom of their cages. My zon is the neatest, I believe because he is a re-home that was neglected in the begining of his life and has learned to appreciate where his next meal is coming from.
  24. My parrots love nuts. I only give them nuts which are sold for humans, no "off the tree for me or mine". Avian vets are hard to find and very expensive. Very favorite nuts of course and the most expensive pine nuts and pecans.
