Oh thank you Pat that was just totally lovely to watch. Watched it twice, had to it was so moving!!!! What a sweet thing for the breeder to give you. How was Chatot's.. what second day??? Bet it was wonderful!
Oh I remember those days, did the kiddie things in the 60/70's with my own kids and did it again in the 80/90's with the grandson I raised and now I am free unless I really want to go for the littler grandkids!!!! Bliss!!!!
Oh I just took a peek at the nursery cam and it is so great!!!! Thanks Dave you are a sweetheart to share your grey families with us!!! Kissy, kissy to you!!!
Can't you just open the cage door and leave it open so he can come out and go back in at his leisure. If his food and water are in the cage, he will return on his own, right. That would be my solution anyway. Be patient, all will sort itself out, just be patient.
Teaka as Sheila as said Pat the moderator of the Other Birds Room is the one with expert knowledge about greys and macaws. She has Macaws and Greys and other parrots that she has weaved into a wonderful little flock. I however do have an eclectus and grey and let them out together but only if I am in the same room with them constantly. I always return one or the other to a cage if I leave a room if only for a moment.

Post edited by: luvparrots, at: 2009/11/18 19:38
Wow, compared to Tyco, Chatot looks like the gentle giant. What a difference in size!!! Chatot is gorgeous and I am so envious of you Pat, you have some spectacular parrots. Both Chatot and Darius are much too much bird for me and I totally respect what a wonderful parront you are Pat to these magnificent creatures! Thanks for sharing your knowledge and your gentle big birds with us!!
My Ana Grey is 15 months old. I got her when she was 4 months old and clipped. She just started to fly through the house last week. She has always really wanted to fly and from day one tried all the time. She is an independent grey. During the time before she started to really fly we would practice. I would put her on my arm and gently launch her toward the couch and she would catch air and gently land on the couch where she was well cushioned. We did this alot and now she is confident and flys where she wants to go. She isn't an expert flyer yet but she gets better every day. I hope this helps. Good luck.
My word what a time for you Dee. I hope your daughter's problem can be taken care of without too much discomfort for her. Fingers crossed. As for your fids, they will probably be the best of friends once the forced isolation is over. Hope all is better soon!
Congratulations Maxxheadroom on your investigative abilities. Karma to you for being such a caring parront. Gizmo is such a lucky guy to have such a smart and determined patron! Pictures would be wonderful if you have any to share!
I plop Ana Grey in the sink and just ran water through my fingers over her. We have done this from day one and she enjoys it. I plug the sink and let the water rise and she just stands in it and lets me splash her. She is such a laid back grey. She never bathes or has tried to bath herself.
Why you serve it with tea don't you, Jill!!!!! Sorry, Jill. I make my fids mini-muffins and just give a warmed muffin to them once or twice a week so I can't really help you.
