1. I don't fool myself for a second that my Ana Grey wouldn't fly off outside the first chance she got. I watch her watching the patio door and tipping her head to see around the drape as to how my dog has managed to go outside. She taps the glass on the window as she sits and watches the outside world from her window perch. She tried every day to fly and now that she can she turns and moves and hovers. How can a being who can fly and soar in the sky not want to be free? Does she know she won't have food provided to her everyday, No. Because all her life food has always been there from the day she was hatched til now. How would she know that if she flew off it wouldn't just appear like now. And because she has never seem my house from the sky how would she be able to recognize it when she is afraid and hunger? Unless she recognized me sitting on the lawn crying every day and night until she returned. That would be my only hope. Don't make me cry just thinking about my worst fear for my sweet Ana Grey.

6. Just a thought, do you wear a scented hand cream or perfume they may not like?
7. Isn't it the way it always in a family the "good" kid is hardly noticed and the "bad" or uncaring kid gets all the attention. Take heart Julie, your fids are happy, healthy and very loved isn't that what is really important!
8. Thanks Professor for reviving Dr. Flock's Thanksgiving preparations. My two favorite men!!
9. Hi Karina, karma to you for taking in an older grey. There are oodles of thread here at the forum to answer a lot of your questions. If you need help, just ask and some of our very knowledgeable members will be here to help. Can't wait to hear more about Gabby and see some pictures when you get a chance.
10. Why do you want to feed it to your grey???? I too would take it to a local nursery and get an opinion. Perhaps some kind of violet or impatiens.
11. How exciting Caroline!!! Can't wait to see pictures (hint, hint) of your new decor!!!
12. A very sad reminder that we must be ever vigilant.
13. Nice to hear from you. Glad to hear that Micheal is becoming comfortable with his fellow fids.

15. I thought it was time for an update on Ana Grey's flying abilities. Today it was so amazing. She was sitting on the door of her cage while I was getting peanuts for her and Sully out of the peanut can. I had just taken a handful out of the can and was opening my hand to count them when I heard this flap of wings coming my way. Ana Grey kind of hovered, I don't know how else to describe it, and snatched a peanut in her beak and soared off to her boing. I was in shock as I just watched her daintly proceed to crack and eat her peanut as if it were just another day. I wished I'd gotten a picture, it was beauty in motion. She is getting more proficient in her maneuvers everyday!! And I just had to share my happiness for her with everyone! :cheer:
16. Oh goody a feud or two!!! Just a minute now, let me get a ring-side seat!!!!
17. I wouldn't start worrying. Give him a chance to recuperate and see what happens. Just keep talking to him and relax. My grey is a quiet little lady and some days she just has nothing to say. So relax and be happy your grey is getting well.

Post edited by: luvparrots, at: 2009/11/24 02:50

20. How about simple definitions: Janner is a British regional nickname associated with people from Plymouth or people who live in areas near the sea. Geordies are people who come from the northeast of England. Mystery solved!!!!
