Hey Tashyluv and welcome. I was in the same boat as you. Plenty of Teil experience, no grey experience. This site is my main sourse of information and as you have seen everyone here is more than willing to help. It sure has made the transition a lot easier for me! The information is vast and the members are awesome! You cant go wrong here, they wont let you!

For her is correct. I have San Antonio next week and am already dreading leaving her behind again. The important part though is I know she will be ok while i'm gone. Think I need a new job:P

I'm back! Wow I wish I would have seen all these posts before leaving. Something told me to check the forum. I got home about 11:30 PM last night. Hershey heard me unpacking and talking to the dogs and went nuts. Felt really good that she was so excited I was home. I had to uncover her and take her out of the cage for a few before she would settle back down and go back to sleep. The attachment really amazes me. The only problem is that when I took her out today she wants nothing to do with anyone but me. As a matter of fact she lunged at my girlfriend when she came near me. Hope that dosent last. On the inside though it kinda felt good!:lol:

Hi tonyg8s i'm not the expert here but I would say just give him time. Sit by the cage and talk or read to him but dont push him to fast. Let him do it at his own pace. I thought about that. Unfortunatley the airline I work for does not allow birds:( Someone will be home with her though. They just dont give her the attention I do.

Yea, about a month. I have tried to make my trips day only trips since I get her. I wanted to try and do that for a couple of months but this one is out of my control. Thanks for the response

Unfortunatley my job is sending me to Omaha next week for atleast a couple of days. I'm worried that Hershey may regress or hold it against me for not being there. Has anyone had that problem when you have had to be out of town?

My co-workers like to hear my stories. One of them decided he might like to get a grey because he thought it might be a good addition to his new family room. I stopped him right there and explained to him how much time and effort it takes to have a happy healthy bird. He changed his mind. What he wanted was a conversation piece and not another member of the family. Now my girlfriend thinks I am nuts when it comes to my birds and thinks I spend way to much money on them. At one time she was hinting on giving me a choice between her or them (only had tiels at the time)I stopped her before she went any further with it and told her the birds have been with me longer than she has and reminded her I was looking for a girlfriend when I found her! she tries harder now to be more accepting of them.
