And a Merry Christmas to you too Dee, I hope you and David enjoy your "quiet" time (wink wink) xx
-
Wow Dan - scary. You know the risk though and are vigilant with them. Heather - lol it sounds as if Annabella has Sandy well under controll! x
-
Brilliant - that dog has a really strong tail - you don't imagine a tail to be so muscley!
-
Oh wow Dave - is that pic real?!!!! Brilliant!
-
SOunds a lot like Alfie. I tried her with Banana for over two years before she has eventually come to enjoy the odd one, and she wouldn't touch her pellets until she saw David eating them first!! Keep trying the nutritional stuff - one day he may just decide he can't live without it! Like us, tastes change over the years. Let him see you eating anything you particularly want him to have - it'll become almost irrestistable to him!

Hmmmm, stories....maybe one or two lol!! I agree with Judy, you must never leave them alone together, but like Buffy, I came to realise it was because the dogs would need protecting!! My dogs and bird are very intrigued with each other, and the chihuahua especially would like to play with Alfie, and Alfie with her (when the mood takes them). Alfie can immitate them both perfectly and simultaneously - the postie thinks we have 4 dogs!! Alfie and Tia can share a knee in the evening when it's cuddle time! Great thread - and we can keep adding to this one!

Good news - Robin is back! Actually he has been back a wee while, but was quite aloof, then I noticed there were two floating about, and now there are three! So I think the aloof one wasn't my robin at all! My robin is so bold he is landing on my arm as I'm getting his food ready!! Brilliant. Here's a new little bit of vid taken lately in the recent cold snap we are having.

Help! I might have to take my bird on a 5 day trip...
pearllyn replied to Vamppire's topic in The GREY Lounge
Good luck with the arrangements - if your sitter can spend a little time with both you and your bird before you leave, that would help a bundle. As for travelling with you, like Judy, I take Alfie with us on short trips, camping etc, and she is happy so long as she is with us. She has a small travel cage around the size you mentioned and gets out on her harness too. No worries! Good luck and let us know how it goes. x -
Lovely to meet you Kali the destroyer (what a great name - very apt for a grey!!) Looking forward to seeing more videos!

Thanks for watching Alfie's video folks - this has turned into her favourite saying at the moment - it's outnumbering everything else around 10-1! She took it a little to far today though, when she kissed my beak a little too vigourously! Has left a nice neat beak mark right on the bridge of my nose - and I've got a party tomorrow night too!! Little darling!! She was actually aiming for my phone which was at my ear at the time, but she's that excited with the move and santa coming and all, her aim was a little off! Jingles, the hard K at the end is my fault - I taught her "I'm gorgeous" a couple of months ago, but she has started to drop the end off, and now what you hear is "I'm gor"! So I have been really trying hard to enunciate everything!! Dee, I'm so glad to hear you have it in your mind that another grey may come into your life when the time is right. We look forward to taking that journey with you again when the time comes. x

Alfie being supersweet with her latest phrase. I just love her to bits - she is such a star! x

Thanks Judy, She is settling a little better now - stil vary wary but starting to relax a bit. She doesn't like bed at the best of times and is avoiding it even better now!!! SHe has started to talk a bit more again thought, and is even saying one or two new things. I'm going to share a vid in a new thread. x

Thanks Clare and Dee. The move went ok and Alfie seemed quite settled the first night, but she was very unsettled last night at bedtime and wouldn't go in her sleep cage. Other than that she is eating well and chatting a little. Not sure what we could have done differently. It is a lot of change for her to cope with. When we have gone on holiday she has been no bother, but this was different because her big cage and all our furniture came with us! Any ideas would be much appreciated. I have no internet connection so won't be able to check in daily but will when I can, and can still get email. xx

It's no fun at all, Everything is so much harder to do in a foot of snow - then comes the thaw and you have a foot and a half of MUD! Right, there's the moan out of the way, it is terribly pretty though - and fun for the first couple of minutes when you can't resist lobbing a snowball at someone!! I get tired of it really quickly though - lol - I think that shows my age a little! Thank you for asking !
-
Eeeeeewwww! The ear one made my nose crinkle!! I'm happy to say I don't have a worst poop story - yet! Megan got one on her head once, but it was her own fault for scavanging Alfie's leftovers and hovering right in the drop zone!
-
Tomorrow we are moving house. Alfie will be getting her own room, and her new sleep cage came today. It is just big enough to hold her birdy bunk and a couple of toys and food bowls. I'm not exactly sure how tomorrow is going to go yet, but probably the last thing we unpack will be the bird! Once she is out, that'll be us in! I so hope the whole thing doesn't stress her too much! Hope you and yours are all well. Lyn & Alfie xx

Did you know...? The inaugural running of the Epsom Derby was in 1780 and was won by Diomed.

This is soooooo funny I just love it - thanks for keeping this tradition alive Dan!
-
Lol what funny pics - thanks for sharing.
-
Lol - sounds a hoot! That'll be a funny video!
-
How funny! Nothing to worry about just a quirky little thing! Alfie doesn't mind which hand.
-
Oh poor Nilah. Glad to hear she is feeling better now.
-
Wow what a great update! What a good parront you are to spot a problem and act on it. So glad your baby has his voice back!
-
Alfie loves a nice cup of Red Bush - caffiene free tea!

What a lovely lot you are! Here are a couple of pics of Alfie helping me to unwrap the gift that she gave to me! How thoughtful is that?!!! xx
