  1. Hubby is on his way{Feel-good-0002006B} She is not fluffed up. She is just sitting on her perch looking right at us. We ARE ignoring the behavior and even leaving the room for a while then coming back. Hubby just picked her up and brought her into the kitchen and put her on a play stand. He is talking with her and she is screeching back at him. Could this be her way of talking to us? If it is, she needs to learn another language:laugh:
  2. She screeching when we are in the room, when we are out of the room, she has food and water. I have closed the shutters in the room so she can not look out of the window. Now she did have another female CAG with her. Could it be she is calling to her? She can see Echo from her cage, could she be calling him? or is she upset that he is here? Please what can we do to help this will girl:( I told hubby he still disagrees:laugh:
  3. Hello, Sunday afternoon we brought home a beautiful female CAG,she is five months old. Since she has been home she will let out these screeching noises. When we first brought Echo home, my TAG, he did nothing like this. Is this something the CAGs do? My husband says it's because she's a female. Help me out here, PLEASE. Mary{Feel-bad-00020063}
  4. Hi Jon and welcome to the forum. I have a TAG also with the same name:ECHO:) My Echo has been DNA tested and is a boy. I am new also to the forum and have asked a bunch of questions with alot of great answers:P This is a great group of people made up of grey owners throughout the world with one thing in common. THE LOVE OF GREYS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Again welcome and look forward to hearing from you and Echo again. Mary
  5. leonidas93 I think it did;) Echo is a TAG. Would he still have the red factor to begin with?
  6. Hello, I just read your post about the red factor grays and now I'm a little concerned. My Echo has the red factor if you'll go to my profile you'll see what I'm mean. Is there really a health factor involved in him having the red factor? You know I don't even know exactly what that means. The breeder made a big deal over it. I didn't care. Echo picked me out and didn't want to go back to the breeder and that did it for me. My vet didn't say anything to me when he saw him. Please share with me your concerns:( thanks mary

  10. Congrats! Mark. being pretty new to the forum I look forward to learning more and more. mary
  11. Thanks Judy that all sounds great. I'll have to pick up more bowls this weekend and start giving Echo that kind of variety too:)
  12. Would you feed him pellets also in a separate bowl? At breakfast he gets one bowl with pellets and one with fresh fruit. At dinner he could get more pellets in one bowl and the other with the vegs and sprouts;)
  13. Hello Everyone, I can finally say I have successfully sprouted different kinds of beans for Echo:) My question is, how often can I feed them to him? He really enjoyed them this evening and I want to continue if it is okay. Also, is there anything else you can mix with the sprouts for variety? I would appreciate any and all feed back, thanks. 14. Thank you everyone for the info. I will try them with Echo and hope that he likes them:) Mary
  15. I was wondering if it is okay to give Echo dates? I'm would like to try different fruits for him because he is so picky. I checked the complete fruits/veggies thread but did not see them listed. Are they safe or should I advoid giving them to him. thanks, mary
  16. Hi Trustdace and everyone! The web address www.junglegoldlimited.com has the palm nuts and for you Trustdace they have what they call Parrot Palm Fruit Extract. If you read the description of the product I think this maybe what you are looking for. Give the web site a try and see if it will work for you. Oh, they do ship to the US. Let us know how you make out. Mary
  17. siobha9, you think that is a good price for the PALM NUTS,hee, hee! I know I would probably get a better deal if I purchased more but I'm not sure if Echo will eat them. If he does I'll order more. I have to get ready now, we are going out for dinner. When we get back and I have time I'll post the email address. Oh, I almost forgot, Echo got a clean bill of health from the vet this afternoon:woohoo: He said he would always have a soft spot there so I'll have to keep a eye on him at all times. That's okay-he's my buddy!
  18. Oh Boy{Feel-bad-00020072} I was looking at the wrong kind of nut. I went back and sure enough the sites were for pine not palm nuts. I did do more searching and found a site that is selling 500gr plus shipping for 15.80gbp. If I converted it correctly, into US dollars I came up with: 500gr for 5.50gb plus shipping of 10.30gbp to come to appox. 31.19 us. If this is right please let me know. I just may try them for Echo.
  19. Oh my gosh! you might be right. Let me go back and double check those web site. Thanks;)
  20. Thanks Tracy. I have read alot about the benefits here on the forum so don't worry about your brain freeze. So if Josey doesn't care for them and I sure there are others that don't either, Echo is a very picky eater and the pine nuts are so of expensive can I give them to my bh caique if he decides to share Josey's opinion of them? Maybe it would be better if I just buy the oil:huh: When do you fed Josey the foods you mentioned? Do you feed her anything else with it? Trying to do what is best is driving me batty:lol: I'll be glad when I fiqure it out:)
  21. Hi Everyone, A little help here if you would. I have read a lot about the benefits of giving our greys red palm oil in their foods. I have found several web site that sell the pine nut itself. Would it be better to give them the nut or the oil? Your opinions are greatly appreciated:)
  22. Thank you Tycos_mom, I would have no problem doing that. I was just concerned that it could have caused added stress for Echo. As far as my bh caique he could care less:lol: If only he could teach Echo to be so care free and go with the flow. Thanks again. I will set that up this weekend.
  23. WOW,lovemyGreys, that is a wonderful bird room{Feel-good-0002006B} but you are right that is not actually what I was thinking. I was thinking I'd use a bedroom for them to sleep in so they would get the rest they need. I was concerned about moving them back to the family room to sleep when we had family over. What are you thoughts on that?
  24. Thanks Talon. If I put him in my bedroom to sleep, wouldn't the alarm clocks in the morning scare him and wake him up? We have a open floor plan which means the family room and kitchen are all together with a dining room off of these. My husband gets up early for work, 5:30-6:00am is not the most quietest person you'll ever meet:blush: Echo's cage is in the family room so my husband thrashing around in the kitchen I'm sure wakes him up. When my husband leaves I'm right behind him making breakest for the birds, dogs and then me. I don't know I guess the way things are right now is working. I thought maybe there was a better way. Thanks again.
  25. You probably think I'm crazy for asking all these questions but I really want to do what is best for my birds. I have been reading a lot here about all kinds of things which is so great. Thank God for the forum:) I have read about some of you having bird rooms or sleep cages for your birds. Are the bird rooms an extra bedroom that you converted over? And I'm guessing that it's a great place for the birds to just hang out and be birds and their sleep cages are in there, right? Well, my question is I have two guest bedrooms for when we have overnight guests, long weekends, and just whatever. This does not happen often but I do love having the family all together, if I was to make one of the rooms for my birds to sleep in so we don't wake them on work days how would that effect them if I have to move them out of the room while I have family here? <br><br>Post edited by: prrthead, at: 2008/07/30 16:57
