Hi... know this is kinda gross, but thought i would get peoples opinions on it before i call the vet on monday morning! Adanna hasn't been eating anything different, and eats dry kaytee exact chunky as and when she feels like it. She doesnt get any fatty foods, and eats a fresh fruit and veg diet. Her poo, well morning poo has been like this for three days, but the rest of them are normal coloured. I have read a lot online about this colour of poo, but i was wondering if anyone else had droppings like this occasionaly? its on clingfilm so i could photo it <br><br>Post edited by: shelly_quin, at: 2009/06/20 10:42

Hi! Welcome aboard.. Firstly, the bird is still getting used to his surroundings, and you, so its not a major problem that he only talks when your out the room. spend a little more time around him, talking to him, and him used to you, and you will proberly find that he comes out his shell. With regards to wing clipping, there will be lots of differnt opinions on it, but i personally wouldnt clip Adanna's feathers, i feel it resricts them, and that if her feathers are clipped, she couldnt fly very far... As i said, there will be a lot of diff views on this, and i know its done widely for the birds safety.

i know lol... its sooo small, i have been and visited it about four times so fr, and am going to see her again this weekend! I think all birds are as ugly as sin at that age, and look like little aliens lol.. But i just remember adanna, my 4yr old cag at that age, then look at what a little beauty she is now

hi ruby.. i sympathise with you, adanna was a seed junkie when we first got her, the breeder gave them as a treat, and recommended we did the same. We have only ever given her them as a little treat, maybe about once every two weeks. Adanna would sit and eat all that up, and throw all the fresh fruit and veg away. We have a system with her just now that sorta works, we give her veggies for brekkie (sometimes soft boiled) aswell as kaytee exact chunky, and then in the evening she will get fruit.. Saying that she sometimes gets wise to what we do, and just throws the veg out, but when she does that she just gets veggies for dinner again.. Its a long hard slog trying to get them to eat the good things, but you will get there in the end

wow! what a nice thing to do i taking the grey back i think it will remember the tones of your voice, even if you have changed If you are taking it home though, as a lotof other members are saying, take the time to get know him again, spend time talking to him in the cage etc, then gradually try to do more with him, maybe like hand feed him a grape, or attempt to stroke him.. Only if he looks like hes more settled though, imagine how scary we are to birds lol! Im sure he will be fine though, good luck, and i look forward to hearing more from you Michelle and adanna x

hi.. Adanna does that to, although it doesnt make the click noise, i bath her about 3 times a week, or shower, and mist her daily with avi bird rain, it helps with dryness, i believe you can pick it up most places, but i buy it online, as its really hard to find in edinburgh. I mist adanna in the morning, she actually looks forward to it now lol

still at the breeders, will be there until very start of january, then i'll bring her home.. Just trying to pick a new name for her, adannas had a lot of parrot play dates recently with another cag around about her age, yoshi, and she seems to be good with her... So i think she will like the new one! she will laugh at her hair though lol

its a umberella cockatoo... dont know if i spelled it right lol

Excuse me for having an opinion! I used to log onto this site a lot during the day, but find myself staying away now. This site isn't and shouldn't be for anything other than parrots, problems or stories about them! There is no room for politics/ religous beliefs or anything else here. As with the amount of members, some people are bound to get offended! I think im more than entitled to say what i feel, and it isn't just one side of the story i have heard! This is the wrong place to discuss politcal beliefs etc.. But i wouldnt dream of pushing my countrys political votes/problems/ short comings here. You can delete my profile if you like, im going to pm you now! Ps, once a thread is posted, it becomes every members buisness, so im excersising free will and replying!

she does have good reasons for leaving, i still speak to her on facebook... She will be missed here, she has helped me out more times than i can remember, and is still doing so from facebook! Never met a more caring person, with a genuine love for people and birds! See you on the other side... xx

yes... got a new baby cag, wel not got her yet, pick her up in two weeks not picked a name yet.. will update as soon as i can with pics of her

sorry i have to say posting a link like that wasnt in the best taste, but dont thin it was done with malice! Youtube are law unto themselves, some of the things there are so graphic i dont know how they were alowed on! this just touched a nerve as it is a bird forum, we come here for the living and the well treated and any help we might need, not the ones that get killed in that way!

Hi Jack.. Ten days is still pretty early for the parrot to trust you.. he is 2 1/2 so he will have been with his previous owners from a young age. When he flys to yu, let him just sit there and get used to you, then he will let you know when hes ready to take the next step either by climbing onto you or nudging you (thats what adanna did ) You aren't doing anything wrong at all, just let him get used to his surroundings, remember its a massive change for him good luck

we got adanna from Bradford, and again the breeder was great, she was alaways there to help us with the silly questions, and the important ones. A good place to look is gumtree for your area, im in edinburgh, and there is always someone selling a grey. Bredders and people who got a baby and decided it wasnt for them,,, Silly people lol
