Well Chloe should be able to come home sometime in the beginning of November. I am soooo excited! Thank you so much for taking the time to give me the measurement on the one you brought ZZero home in. It really does help me in my decision on what to purchase. Our drive home will be about 45 minutes so I bet she would do just fine in one about the same size as your carrier!

Darnit I am in the USA!

Poppy: Where were you able to purchase such a good priced travel cage? All the ones I seem to find are over my price range at this time.

I was wondering what size carrier you brought ZZero home in. I am actually looking at one online I like, it is pink too. But I am not sure about it being tall enough. Is this the one you used? http://www.pet-dog-cat-supply-store.com/shop/index.php?page=shop-flypage-14690

OK that is too small, not high enough! I answered my own question on that one. What height should I look for in the carrier?<br><br>Post edited by: fairymyst78, at: 2008/09/30 20:18

OK...well the time to bringing baby home is in about a month...so I started thinking about the carrier to bring her home in! I was thinking something like this but am unsure of the size I should get. Also any suggestions on ways to make it more bird friendly, since it is actually meant for a cat! How funny is that?!?!?! http://www.pet-dog-cat-supply-store.com/shop/index.php?page=shop-flypage-14690

What a beautiful Grey! Congrats on bringing ZZero home!!!

I have cockatiels that eat the fine pellets...I had thought about getting those for the grey in the first place, but I was worried they were too small. It helps to have these boards here to ask these sort of questions to find out first hand others experiences! I love this place!!!!!!!!

Thank you! I do like the idea of getting the high potency fine to see which Chloe prefers. Will send hubby on the new pellet quest this afternoon.

Well I have looked at all the other postings for the Harrison's pellets..but still have an unanswered question lingering in my mind. This coming week when I go visit Chloe, I am supposed to bring the pellets I want the breeder to use to wean her to. I purchased the Harrison's course...but now am wondering should I have purchased the fine? Who here feeds there birds Harrison's, and which size pellet do you feed to your grey?

I got to go see my little Chloe yesterday. She is growing so fast! Little red tail feathers have started to grow!!!! She is about 6 weeks old. We had a very nice visit! I just wanted to bring her home so bad! I have uploaded a video to youtube, but it is still processing. Will post this when it is done processing!<br><br>Post edited by: fairymyst78, at: 2008/09/19 17:16

Thank you so much for everyone's advice. It actually brought up another issue I actually hadn't thought of..and that is the bird flying somewhere it shouldn't be and having to retrieve the bird...may pose a problem since I am in a wheelchair and my reach isn't very high..YIKES.

Thank you all!

OK I just got off the phone with Avian biotech and they had the test results! It's a GIRL! The name I have chosen for her is Chloe! It feels awesome to finally be able to call her by her name!!!! :cheer:

I just got an email from the bird breeder and she says she is guessing the baby is a female (she says she has been wrong before though)...but just thought it was interesting she would think female. She says due to wide hips, I didn't even know that would indicate male or female.

Here is my dilema, I am still trying to decide to clip or not to clip... I would prefer to not clip but am very concerned at the safety of it for the bird, and our TV. We have a LCD wall tv and if the bird was to fly into it...would cause very huge amounts of damage. Would you experienced flighted grey owners think that I would have to even worry about the bird being attracted to the tv? If bird is fully flighted and has fledged would I have to worry about accidental flight into the tv? Also I am worried about the bird flying into the window's we have. I have been so torn at what to do...maybe someone could help me decide and be confident with that decision. Sometimes it helps to hear from those that have "been through" certain situations I am concerned about.

I actually do have a question...anyone have any experience with Avian Biotech for DNA sexing? How long does it usually take. I have been waiting for nearly two weeks now to know the sex of my baby birdy.
-
Sorry I can get distracted easily from one thing to the next.....Next update I make will only be about the birdy...no problem.

I sent my dad the video's and NOW his girl friend and him want a grey!
