3. Don't you just love another reason to get the bird new stuff? Happy hatch day
4. Nothing to worry about, strictly affection. When Mazy (now 16) does it I just walk away. That's all I can do. If you do pet them they will goes nuts with excitement and heavy breathing, smothering your hand with her wings. Ignore it.

8. Hey Yoda: It seems Yoda is letting you know he doesn't want to be scratched at the time. He is wanting to be close to you but not wanting a physical scratch. I'd consider it normal. Since he's not clamping down and biting he's just sending you a messege, "not now". When he wants a scratch he will usually lower his head. Bruce & Mazy
9. Hey Biggle's: Are you a flighted or clipped bird? I also would like to hear how your harness training went. Is Biggle's a young or older bird? Bruce & Mazy

16. Welcome from Alaska: We bought a cockatoo in Escondido at a place called "A Bird Haven". They breed Grey's as well. We found them to be very knowledgeable and extremely helpful. The birds are well cared for and not released until weened. Here is their website. http://www.ourfeatheredfriends.com/ Good luck in your search. Bruce & Mazy
17. Welcome Carol & Bobby: We're happy you found us and there are so many grey owners here with tons of knowledge and advice. What makes you think Bobby is sick? Tell us more, but if you feel it you should get him to a vet as soon as possible just to be safe. Keep us posted. Bruce & Mazy
18. Amanda: I'm going with Mork & Mindy
19. Pepper: When we lose a bird we lose a family member. I am sad for your loss. I am of the school of thought that if you can't stop thinking of your loss to get another. The grieving process is different for everyone, but it sounds to me like you're a grounded grey owner who will enjoy a new bird to take peppers' place. I know cost is high but you may check into adoption, as there are many good birds out there who need new homes. Good luck and our prayers are with you and pepper. Bruce & Mazy
20. Yes Judygram , all our birds are celebrities. You may notice that "Jeep" has used an African Grey in their magazine ads. Mazy was sure filmed and photographed a lot this winter. Bruce
21. Max: Glad you could join us, there are so many informed grey owners here and the answers to any questions you may have. Read through the threads and enjoy your new friend. Bruce & Mazy
22. Tabby: Sounds like your breeder sounds responsible. Danmcq and judygram have covered the important issues, I think it boils down to which bird takes to you and which bird you take to. Good luck Bruce & Mazy
23. Thanks to all of you: I'm trying to catch up and am reading lots on the site. Good to see many new bird lovers. Danmcq, Mazy is caged in the great room where all the action is. She really likes being part of the action. When there is lots of new folks or fast moving action I keep her cage closed, but under most normal times the door is open and she can choose to be in or out. She gets all excited at the end of the day when they all come in from the mountains. She especially likes to get her claws on ski goggles. But if she does there won't be much left of them. She definately had her favorite this season and I already hear many new words and noises she's heard. The birds are a great thing for the skiers. On down days they occupy their time by learning about and the birds and spending time with them. All in all it's good for both birds and skiers. You'll hear more from me in a few days after the recovery period is over. Again thanks all and we'll see you out there Bruce & Mazy PS FairY- I'm sure the birds will be in several winter movies when they release in the fall.

Post edited by: MazyAK, at: 2008/05/05 06:06
24. Mazy is enjoying the fact that she can hang with me all day now, and I'm paying lots of attention to her and she is constantly with me the last 2 days. She gets mad when I put her down. She knows most of the guests are gone, and she was used to the constant attention, so now it's time to get back with the dad. If I leave the room she calls until I return. She is just standing guard over me on the sofa while I practice being lazy. Bruce Bruce
25. lovemyGreys: Thanks and good to hear from you. Mazy had a great ski season and really liked all the action. She has become a lot more friendly and enjoyed all the company. She was very inquisitive and liked all the excitement. I'm sure she'll be in several of the ski movies next year. Bruce
