  17. The Prince of Tides - Barbara Streisand
  18. Chezron, I can understand your fears, because I feared other birds that bit me. When we got Hemingway, I wasn't afraid, but I was cautious. Then I realized he was a baby and didn't really know how to bite that hard. He can bite very hard now, but not back then! So as his bitiing gradually got harder, I became accustomed to it. I have no fear of Hemingway, but he can lay a good bite on you if he's falling or feels threatened. It goes with the territory. Just treat him like you treated your quaker. You'll be fine! Lots of Luck, Valerie
  19. Welcome Ossy! I think this is a decision you have to make. If you've been looking and iffing for 12 months, I think you probably know what you'd prefer. If I had a choice between a baby grey or someone elses 3 year old Amazon, I'm going with the grey, but that's me. Have you ever owned a parrot before? Do you have any biting fears? Baby parrots are a huge commitment, and take up alot of your time. What do you know about your uncles Amazon? Is it a good bird? Does he bite alot? Does he talk alot? Does he scream all the time? Is this bird something you have considered over the course of the last 12 months that you've been iffing? We have an African Grey and a Double Yellow Head Amazon, I love them very much!! They are very different birds though, and we chose them both for specific reasons. We also have a pair of Cockatiels, and they are alot of fun too! I probably wasn't as helpful as you would've liked, but it's really a personal preference. I sure don't regret getting Hemingway, he's my CAG, and I woudn't trade him for a million bucks!! Lots of Luck, Valerie
  20. Hemingway is very bad about looking for us. He calls out, but often he'll just fly off and start walking around until you're in his eye sight. Of course he always comes right over to be picked up. He has learned that if he's not in his cage, someone is home. He just likes to be able to see someone. We are pretty good about putting him back on his perch though, so he'll learn not to come looking. Good advice from Judy, always very knowlegable! Valerie
  21. I guess nomatter how you try, you can't cover all the bases with these birds. I never thought about burping, sneezing and coughing. You always think of them mimicking stuff like the doorbells and phones, not bodily funtions. Thank God nobody F--ts in this house! HA! Valerie
  22. Just relaxing after work. Nothing nicer than to chat with some friends and read about greys. I just love this forum!! Valerie
